This was all super confusing until I looked up the way they structure their league and realized D2 in this case was 2nd from the top, not the 2nd tier of D-League.
I’ve played since I was about 11 and played D1 play some juniors and I guess what I don’t understand is when you’re beating a team by seven or eight goals is there a point to keep driving the score up. Specially in a league that really doesn’t allow any physical contact
Nabil P to answer your question this is ice hockey. And to answer your second question about where this place is it is a place in Burbank California called pick wick ice. It actually use to be privately owned but know in the 2019-20 season it now is officially owned by the la kings franchise. Ever since then know the rink looks sort of different but for the most part it stayed the same just got a simple new kings fashioned paint job. And in general there are a lot of lacking a logos throughout the rink very specifically the front gate and around the walls and the boards of the rink
Nabil P just to let you know my son plays hockey for the Bay Harbor Red Wings and the Bears play at Pickwick Ice. So that’s how I know all of this information about Pickwick Ice.
I have been on strong teams taking on weaker team.... There is no way I would do any celebrations after goals...since it was not truly hard fought or hard earned goal... I also sat in for weaker teams to help them...that was fun...watching a team that never lost before cry like babies when they were handed their first loss..funny how that works...
Chris Ruiter Exactly. This guy has no problem satisfying his ego at the expense of others. I’d love to see a group of guys join his league and pummel his team for the rest of the time he plays adult hockey. Then see him complain to the league.
@@Anthony-nv7gd really you guys complain about cherry picking when he did the right thing by going to the net in a change you guys really dont play hockey

Geesmack Joeypads I agree as I am a goalie but u have to understand when ur team leaves u out to dry it becomes demoralizing and u just want the game to be over with so u have no acc will to save the puck
@@nicholassylvestre6968 I've been there, but it has to be pretty hopeless before I'll stop giving it my all. On the other hand it's also pretty demoralizing for the team when you let in a few softies. So it's a 2 easy street.
I'm wondering about the 1 ref situation> as a ref myself, suuper hard to see penaltys with one. is he there just to call goals? I didn't see an arm go up on those two obvious checks? And nice deep v on the kings jersey. Nasty.
Alfredo Ortiz Really depends on how each league determines criteria but generally there are A B C and D divisions and sometimes sub divisions (B1, B2, etc). A division is typically going to be guys that played D1 in college, semi-pro, etc. B division will be guys that were top tier in high school and maybe played some D2 and D3 college. C and D divisions are going to be guys that maybe played some when they were younger but were never better than average and guys that picked up hockey as adults. D2 is really a learn to play/beginner division where I am. Like I said, it’s not the same everywhere but generally D division is no place for guys that have played hockey for most of their lives, unless they’re seniors. Most of the guys on the tropics are either weak A division players or average B league players in my opinion.
@@Anthony-nv7gd oh I see now basically they had no business playing that team. Quick question how much would it cost to start playing hockey like gear wise since I know gear is not cheap I've been wanting to try ice hockey for a while now
Alfredo Ortiz If you can buy everything used from a store like play it again sports you can probably pick everything up for anywhere between $250 and $500 depending on the quality of the skates and stick you decide to get. Skates can be by far the most expensive piece of gear but u can also get for less than 100.00. Best to get good skates and cheap out on everything else.
This video kind of bummed me out if I'm being honest. It's not fun being in a lower league, and have upper leaguers come play against you... it's demoralizing. I understand some of the goals were bad bounces, and a product of white's goalie being frustrated. But the way you guys move around the puck, and some of the shots your team was putting on net was at too high of a level for the white team. I've been on the other end of 14-4 blowouts... it sucks. Maybe next time sit on a lead.
Our team moved up from C to B at our rink from 2 years ago into last year and what started out as an 0-5 season with our team getting scored on an average of 7 times a game turned into the cup for our team. Playing against tougher competition will improve your team, even if it's tough at the start.
@@bmil38 that's true only if the team has a solid foundation to work off of. Otherwise it's just an old fashioned ass whooping and a nobody learns anything other than how to play poorly due to frustration
Train LeChoo learning experience I’m not sure if you know what d2 adult safe is but no ones looking to get better just guys trying to play some puck for fun.
I have to ask... How do you get your ice so white? I've changed my white balance to dam near every setting except for cloudy now... and I cannot for the life of me get my ice completely white like yours... I'm contemplating maybe the ice isn't really white at the rink... :-P
I love how nice the other team is, when playing hockey you don’t come across many. I think it’s more fun when you can have respect for the other team, makes the game more fun
Thank you Mr. you’ve help me a lot in hockey and I was in a tournament and I tied it up with 13.8 seconds left in the third. And it went into overtime and we won the banner so thank you very much and keep up the great work man
If D2 is for guys learning how to play the game, that white goalie needs all the practice he can get. Goalies improve when they play more games and practice making saves on off days. BTW, he needs to learn the butterfly style.
Pickwick eh? When the Kings took over management 2 things changed. The ice got a little better (and a little wider) and the price got a little higher. To be expected I guess but..... They boned Paul's Tuesday night pickup and gave the slot to a high school team. Paul had that slot for almost 30 years and the rink wanted to almost double the price and have hime sign a lease! Not cool.
Cheetosrule I believe D2 is college level being just below the highest skill level. If he really is beer league thats means it's a team of random hockey players looking for a league after college.
