ASUS chat tech claims I need to choose "discrete" and make sure "secure boot" is enabled. SO for Intel, if it's like mine, should be as follows once your in BIOS *Click "Advanced Mode (F7) * Go to the "Advanced" tab * Click on "PCH-FW Configuration" * If it reads like mine "TPM Device Selection" do the next step; * Click "Discrete TPM" in the dropdown * Next; Click on "Boot" go to "Secure Boot" and choose "Other OS" * Exit and save changes. ***He also recommended updating to the latest BIOS - not sure I'm going to before I try...? P.S. I found all mine already set to the above already.

Edit to add: I intend to go to a Linux distro, probably Mint, in the next 6-12 months. I have an ASUS Z170I PRO GAMING (Intel Z170 Chipset) (Mini-ITX) My BIOS screen for TPM looks to that of the AMD not Intel. ASUS chat tech claims I need to choose "discrete" and make sure "secure boot" is enabled.
SO for Intel, if it's like mine, should be as follows once your in BIOS
*Click "Advanced Mode (F7)
* Go to the "Advanced" tab
* Click on "PCH-FW Configuration"
* If it reads like mine "TPM Device Selection" do the next step;
* Click "Discrete TPM" in the dropdown
* Next; Click on "Boot" go to "Secure Boot" and choose "Other OS"
* Exit and save changes.
***He also recommended updating to the latest BIOS - not sure I'm going to before I try...?
P.S. I found all mine already set to the above already.

I am currently on Windows 10 and have no interest in Windows 11 because I don't want Microsoft collecting even more information about that will be leaked when Microsoft eventually gets hacked. I can go the reverse route of this video and disable TPM on my X670E TUF Gaming - Plus Wifi motherboard. My question is will doing this cause any problems booting into Windows 10.
Edit to add: I intend to go to a Linux distro, probably Mint, in the next 6-12 months. I expect to encounter problems with Linux, but expect Windows 11 to also cause problems, just different problems. At least with Linux I will have control of my personal data.
