I respect that Goku doesn't push Gohan to keep training. He understands that his son isn't like him, even with his potential, and just wants him to he happy. Piccolo is more pragmatic. He knows that someday they won't always have Goku and Vegeta to come in and save the day, so he tries to push Gohan.

This is one of my favorite moments in super tbh,Gohan knew he was responsible for his own weakness. And yet he did everything he could within his current power level to help the situation. He's never been one to go out of his way to fight,but he has and always will help his friends in family to the best of whatever abilities he has

But he finally realized it when they sparred, saying how he didn't know in his search for strong guys to fight, Gohan had been right there with him. Gohan even showed a sign before that with his farewell to future trunks at the end of the black arc. The serious look was his new resolve.
But then in Superhero, it shows that Gohan was slacking again and was super weak again. So he didn't really gain anything. It wasn't until Piccolo pushed him that he was finally able to get with it again.
He wasn't "super weak" again. He held his own against the gammas while in ultimate and it's heavily implied the gammas are SSB+ tier. Gohan was still training just not as much as he should've @@Saimeren

He realized chichi’s dream. They butchered chichi’s character after DB she was a fighter. OX king too he was actually a cool character they made him smaller I think for the plot so he would fit in goku house. He used to be big enough to pick up those flying dinosaur monsters with one hand. Ox king wouldn’t fit through a normal door.
Gohan was the strongest even after cell and even GT respected that. Even when he was a child and never trained he was stronger than goku using kaio-ken. Super is just mostly trash and is not respecting the original work.
When you exist in a world where beings can destroy planets with a flick of their wrists and you've witnessed like 10 different attempts at your own planet, it's not responsible to decide that two dudes is enough of a buffer for your planet surviving. You train and prepare so that your family can live their lives.
Here’s the thing: this was mostly because of his MOTHER. Most likely Chi-Chi thought everyone else and Vegeta was enough to protect the planet, so she wanted her son to live a life of NORMALCY. Not having to risk his life. She’s like this because he’s her FIRST and OLDEST child. She just wants her boy have a NORMAL life. Not TRULY being realistic in that Gohan is PRETTY FUCKING FAR from “normal”. She watched her, at the time, ONLY CHILD fighting to save their world at ELEVEN YEARS OLD! (I think) She was TERRIFIED and HELPLESS, and she didn’t want to feel that fear again. I know Chi-Chi is irrational and stubborn, but I felt like people should know WHY she’s that way.
And this is why I have an issue with super Gohan. Literally during the cell saga, when he was much younger, he and Goku master super saiyan to where they could literally be in that form with no effort and no bearing in their body. Gohan hates fighting. But will do it when needed. Better to have and not need. Or in Gohan’s case, have and not want.

People go too hard on Gohan for not continuing his training but you gotta realize he never wanted to be a warrior, the threats they get continue to escale and it never stops, its the nature of the show, you have characters like Tien who never EVER stop training and still can't do jack versus the newer threats. Yes he probably had the greatest potential in the show as explained by many people, but he only seemed to enjoy fighting when he was engulfed in rage or overtaken by his own power, that's no way to live.

This is when gohan realized that he has to be stronger because he has to be able to fight weather he wants to or not. So he started training again. He trained hard throughout the series and ended up unlocking beast and it all started in this moment.

He continued training before and after the tournament of power. He took a break for a little bit to study his ants but he trained consistently throughout super. Watch the show or read the Manga but stop making stuff up based on memes.

He is my favorite character in db . I started watching db when i saw him fighting with cell and his potential was damn great he could've surpassed goku if he had kept his training like that but now i am happy to see his progress in the new movie and his new form beast gohan which is almost as powerful as ultra instinct ❤❤❤

This is one of the most saddest states i've seen my favorite character in. He couldn't even go super Saiyan without straining himself too much. I'm glad they gave him justice in super hero.
Growing muscle is hard at first and unless kept up it will degrade... same thing with their power and strength. He didn't keep training and, so, he weakened.
Gohan was abysmally weak here. That was depressing for DBZ fans. He looked like a twig too, couldn't even go super saiyan, let alone ssj2 and of course couldn't go into his mystic/Ultimate form.
Its kinda sad that Gohan is so misunderstood by the fans. What modt people don't get is that all the battles and things he's been through don't inspire him to be a warrior as much as it does to Goku or even his younger brother. Deep inside the dude just wants to rest and be a good husband and dad.

Gohan has Beast Form now and is able to fight Ultra Instinct Gok. Earth is safe from any threats now that Gohan gained Beast Form. And with Orange Piccolo, Goku and Vegeta don't need to worry either! 😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎

@@chc8551 I maybe half agree with you, but the plot made gohan go a different direction, because he isn't wholly just Saiyan, he's also human, and humans in the series are basically fodder and do not usually have their potentials realize, yet gohan didn't train as hard but had his potential unlocked by old kai long ago. Note that gohan doesn't have god ki, and neither did jiren in Tournament of Power or when compared to Belmod, jiren is rare talent, so is gohan. To battle gods or beings with god ki without god ki yourself is truly phenomenal and maybe in some cases excessive plot armor. Still the manga doesn't lie.

OX king too he was actually a cool character they made him smaller I think for the plot so he would fit in goku house. The Japanese wanted Goku not Gohan, the plan was for Gohan to take over but the fans didn’t want it so they did a U turn.
Gohan was the strongest even after cell and even GT respected that. Even when he was a child and never trained he was stronger than goku using kaio-ken. Super is just mostly trash and is not respecting the original work.
God forbid Gohan tries to have a normal life after getting beat up at 4 years old.

Here’s the thing: this was mostly because of his MOTHER. Most likely Chi-Chi thought everyone else and Vegeta was enough to protect the planet, so she wanted her son to live a life of NORMALCY. Not having to risk his life. She’s like this because he’s her FIRST and OLDEST child. She just wants her boy have a NORMAL life. Not TRULY being realistic in that Gohan is PRETTY FUCKING FAR from “normal”. She watched her, at the time, ONLY CHILD fighting to save their world at ELEVEN YEARS OLD! (I think) She was TERRIFIED and HELPLESS, and she didn’t want to feel that fear again. I know Chi-Chi is irrational and stubborn, but I felt like people should know WHY she’s that way.

Gohan hates fighting. But will do it when needed. The problem he faces is that mentality caused him to be caught unprepared and instead he needed to learn it’s to keep up his training even if it’s not where his passion lies. Better to have and not need. Or in Gohan’s case, have and not want.

People go too hard on Gohan for not continuing his training but you gotta realize he never wanted to be a warrior, the threats they get continue to escale and it never stops, its the nature of the show, you have characters like Tien who never EVER stop training and still can't do jack versus the newer threats.
Yes he probably had the greatest potential in the show as explained by many people, but he only seemed to enjoy fighting when he was engulfed in rage or overtaken by his own power, that's no way to live.

He continued training before and after the tournament of power. He took a break for a little bit to study his ants but he trained consistently throughout super. Watch the show or read the Manga but stop making stuff up based on memes.

@@chc8551 I maybe half agree with you, but the plot made gohan go a different direction, because he isn't wholly just Saiyan, he's also human, and humans in the series are basically fodder and do not usually have their potentials realize, yet gohan didn't train as hard but had his potential unlocked by old kai long ago. Note that gohan doesn't have god ki, and neither did jiren in Tournament of Power or when compared to Belmod, jiren is rare talent, so is gohan. To battle gods or beings with god ki without god ki yourself is truly phenomenal and maybe in some cases excessive plot armor. Still the manga doesn't lie.
