Ring bound system and the "right paper" - suggestion to use a system with a good quality punch. You can slice out a page from an A & O (or whatever book bound notebook), then punch it and put it in the Ring bound system (and of course add a note on the page about what notebook you pulled it out of). That way you can swatch on the right paper from your fav notebooks.
I don't get to watch many of your videos these days but I am 57 minutes in and am literally writing so many notes. I am a ring bound planner and that works for me, but I do also have a reference planner (also ring bound) and you are giving me so many ideas and things to think about, so thank you!!!
I often think about those traveler's notebooks where you can insert mini-journals. I wonder if that would be a solution for the bound vs. ring journal conundrum. One insert for swatches...one insert for reference materials...etc., but then enclosed in one "cover."

I was actually finding myself overwhelmed by the idea of trying to "reset" my life and didn't know where to start. Decided to just list everything i could think of using the alistair method - is the task or action step something i want to do daily/weekly/monthly/etc? Feeling like i have more clarity this way.
I re write and move things on my task list weekly. It's when I plan my week and after creating a weekly task list I try to assign anything I can to a certain day of the week. Or leave it on the weekly if it doesn't matter what day it happens.
Jess, Couple of good ones to look at for decluttering are Dana K White (No mess decluttering process & the container concept) and Cas from Clutterbug (organising style quiz and ideas). Really helped me!
Whether you go with rings or discs, if you can't find loose paper that is analogous to A&O, you could always get the appropriate punch to your rings/discs and use an A&O notepad, then you could play with multiple paper colors too.
I lol'd at the comment about putting away laundry at 38:40 because it actually does take me 45 minutes to put away my laundry because I prefer having folded clothes instead of putting them on hangers. I've timed myself and it really does take me so long 🤣 I also do large loads of laundry, so maybe I should try doing smaller loads instead of washing and drying all of my clothes in one go
We do all our laundry at once. If we put it away after a week, like we aim to, it takes 30 min or so for both of us. If we do it every 3 weeks which is more likely cuz we are lazy, it takes an hour for both of us :-).

I did that one year and it worked brilliantly, but then when the year was over it's harder to store unless you take them off the rings and then put thread thru the holes to keep them all together. Which is why I switched back to A&O books again. I'm starting a Collections journal this year in the hopes of not having to use 10 journals in a year. haha
I love the idea of ring bound but as a lefty, I’m scarred for life on anything with something in the middle. For these right handers get a taste of that too :-).

Would you consider combining the try/visit lists into an experience list with sections for social/ travel/restaurants etc since they all seem to be shorter lists? I found a recurring charges list useful - especially the ones that go to credit cards so when the card updates, I know who to contact

For the eateries and places you want to visit, try making these lists in an A5 notebook and leaving it in your car. That way when you're out and have spare time to go somewhere new, you have a list of the places you want to go. Obviously, this would be more helpful with the places you want to visit in your area rather than other countries, but you could add those in too. I have a lot of restaurants in my area that I want to try so I've been thinking about doing this.
PUMPKIN 🎃 SOLUTION!! There was a huge trend to paint your pumpkin a few years ago. Pick a color and paint the grey pumpkins you have access to. People will also use large squash sometimes.

Totally fair question! Essentially what you said, yeah 👌 Food to try is more for recipes I want to make or particular foods that I might want to eat at a restaurant, but not a *specific* restaurant. Eateries to try are cafes, restaurants, or other food providing establishments I'd like to visit and dine at 😊 Hope that helps!

This seems like a popular opinion, personally I absolutely hate page numbers because I tear pages out when I truly hate the page (and when I start a notebook do one or two pages but then change my mind and restart the whole journal) and if there are page numbers then every page must be perfect 😅and that would stress me out.
The Kon Mari method is either amazing to do when depressed, or horrific, because almost nothing sparks joy in those moments. 🤣You either have a handful of things left and are happy about it, or devastated when you realize later that some of your favourite things got tossed. 🥲

A fun alternative to pumpkin carving is pineapple carving! They look creepier and my son and I love doing this. Plus we get a snack!

There are Japanese notebooks that also have hole punches so you can chose your paper type and be able to move them around in a binder
With a ringed journal I would recommend clear plastic sleeves for the paper that way the pages won’t tear at the holes
