I've made a mod that changes all the terrain in the woirld to plains. Let's see what effect that has on the game world. The mod is on the steam workshop already and should work fine, link below. I've also made a lot of other mods like this, which I will be releasing soon.

We would only know during a Battle royale, which unfortunately his voting system failed to point out that 1936 + Battle Royale meant he shows both instead of what I thought which was doing a Battle Royale IN 1936 only...
Either way, the best way to show off this mod IS with a Battle Royale, to be quite honest. Otherwise, it doesn't show the full potential of the terrain changes.

Sounds good. In my current game I invaded the USSR in October 1942 and was completely fine
Meaningful weather,meaningful terrain, meaningful combat, meaningful supply aswell as the resource war. Combine all of these mods to get the best hoi4 experience

And make Germany super weak.
Even in the current state of the game, the German AI often struggles early. With more debuffs coming from terrain and weather (obviously effecting the attacker more than the defender), Germany would have a super hard time, and needs eve more buffs.

Could you show us what it looks like when the actual terrain looks like all plains or all mountains, like at the end of the next terrain video?
Talos, you clearly didn't pay much attention during the first video. He said he actually did change it but that the terrain looked too ugly to include in the mod, but I too am intrigued as to see what it would actually look like, ugly or not.

He would have to remake the heightmap for the 3D object. The map you're playing on is actually a 3D object with a heightmap and a normalmap.
That's why his full mountains map looked ugly. He probably didn't change the height+normalmap.

What if there were no oceans..... i.e. they all drained away suddenly? Two possibilities: Dry land or thick mud.... The thick mud would only allow air transport of troops and equipment.
Well, there is a mod like that but it allows you to have your troops literally walk on water and water becomes land

This basically enhances basic strategy: First defend, then counterattack once enemy organisation and entrenchment is spent. You just have to not be pushed back by the initial attack (like Soviets here).

Italy took France's factories and equipment, so if Germany took it maybe they could have beat the others. Mountaineers, Marines etc are too OP in these mods.

I really like simple, yet interesting and game changing mods, even when observed. However it would be awesome if you did some really simple gameplay, maybe war on everyone right off the start or smth like that

You have to remember that the soviets hands down have the best National focus buffs. for 70 days of time and some political power you can get 5 million manpower, whereas germany only gets a few thousand with the recruitment events.
Video hasn't even started yet, but I'm just gonna leave this here: RIP Switzerland.
