How to leave Steve Hartman speechless. When Malcom said, " Playing football was a gift. That came natural. I had to WORK to learn how to read." I felt that all the way down to the inside of my toenails! Super Soul!! Sometimes football makes great men. And sometimes great men just happen to play football. AMEN!!
Malcom- What a man of character. I love how he pursued reading even though it was not easy for him. He is a great example to young kids and to everyone else of all ages. Thank you Steve Hartman for another great story!
Well, what I can I say that hasn’t been said already?!?! I guess these two men are the literal embodiment of gratitude and humility! Thank you so much gentlemen. You are both extraordinary examples and the best this country has to offer. And now I’ll say one last thing: carry on!
@@jmr9735 he is a world treasure and I am glad the RUclips Algorithmen has introduced him to me ( a dude in Germany) years ago. What kind of channel is CBS? Is the rest not good?
@@bildfluss CBS is one of our major networks in the US, and their news division, if you can call it that, is a liberal mouthpiece. They're part of the "mainstream media." They do what they can to promote certain narratives and prevent the truth from getting out.
The look in Malcolm’s eye when he talks about his athletic ability being a gift, and how he had to work to read..... powerful. As a UGA alum, I have never been prouder to be associated with a man of that character than I was then.
steve once did a special on how kindness can go viral, but he was teaching us how to be that way all along. he literally mr. miyagi-ed us all. the great ones often do.
I cried tears of joy and sorrow.I taught children who had difficulties with processing of sounds, which eventually hampered their ability to read.I trained in various methods, and found a great deal of joy and gratification,as each child made progress! It made my day ,my week ,my month,my life!
What an awesome story! I pray that Malcolm continues to inspire folks to join book clubs they never thought would be their "type" of crowd. Cheers to the success of his children's books. Thank you Steve Hartman for bringing this story to all of us.
I loved this story when it first aired and love Steve for his gentle, good nature and ability to bring out the good in others when the world needs it most. And I love this young man, his heart and his dedication to expanding his world and now helping others do the same. He’s brilliant for recognizing that he needed knowledge most of all to go far in this life. Because no matter what happens, no one can ever take it from you. I hope only good things are in his future. And for Steve as well.
Wow! What an inspiring young man! Steve doesn’t give himself enough credit. The true mark of a humble person. Any time I come across a Steve video I send it to my sisters in Philly. My fav was the one about the Gold Star kid! Every time I watch it I tear up! I don’t even watch the news. I never miss Steve!! I also loved the story about Malcom. I love reading myself so it meant a lot to me. To think that this young man was so inspired to improve his reading, that he understood the value of it is a tremendous influence for others and especially children who might see him. I am just blown away that he decided to write children’s books! It’s so exciting to hear when someone appreciates the value of books and reading in general. I bet those women just dote on him! We women do like to mother!
Thank you Steve, for inspiring Malcolm to keep going with his reading. This young man writing his book will inspire other young people to read. It’s one of the most important things we can do for our children. Too many youngsters failed reading and they try to hide behind this by disrupting class so no one will find out. Malcolm keep helping young people read. And if reading means you’re a nerd. Sign me up. I’m a nerd as well💕
Dude. You are NOT insignificant. You (and your children!) have been among the greatest of blessings too this country over the last year. Thanks always.
What a gratifying, beautiful story. This young author is a class act, like Steve. So wonderful to hear about his personal triumph and deep contribution to the lives of all children.
Yeah. That is so amazing. Steve Hartman showed him something he didn’t see. Then he took it and made it more personal. And then did what he could do for others. Two amazing men! I love this story.
🥰 I absolutely love all Steve episode's, but I think this is one of my all time favourites. I think it mainly how Malcolm's chance meeting in a book strore has turned in a really great thing, and much it's helping children. A huge thank you to Steve and his team, for doing such a great job. 💖😁
Love this story SO MUCH. How beautiful that a chance encounter and then the opportunity to tell his story led to a foundation that both gave him a purpose after football, and also has the potential to change a lot of lives. Such an amazing story.
Some of your biggest enemies in life are your peers. Kudos to Malcolm for looking beyond the nerd label and enriching his life while giving hope to so many more.
I am from the Philippines and we don't get the CBS evening news here. But I never miss a chance to watch On The Road with steve hartman. I even share it to my son and wife so we can learn lessons in life. Morality and humanity have made a great effect in our lives here. Thank you also yo you tube.
My mind boggles at the possibilities for this story to affect millions of youth and others. This is an amazing story that can inspire young people to work for these academic skills. And if some of the "inspiration" is generated by his Superbowl ring, what's the harm? Thank you Steve for bringing us this great story about a wonderful man!
I look forward to watching Steve Hartman every Fri. He's the icing on the cake for CBS Evening News! IMHO he deserves a segment, monthly or weekly, on 60 Minutes. The stories he shares are just as important, if not more so in today's environment, as those of the other 60 min. contributors. & Malcolm's story is the perfect example of why Steve Hartman is so important to all of us today.
It warms my heart every time I see/read this. God works in many wonderful ways. There are good people everywhere and apologies to Steve Hartman's predecessor, thank him also. Don't think we had Internet then.
HUGE GOOSEBUMPS ON THAT ONE! 🥰👍🙏 Never heard of Malcolm, but Love him and thought is awesome on Wikipedia he is listed as an author! Good for him!!!! 🥰
Just wish there were more angels like him on earth. My husband was an angel on earth now he's an angel in heaven I love when different kind of people just appreciate one another. If more people could be like him and my husband there would be more peace on earth and love for one another keep on paying the luv forward ❤️🦋🇺🇸🇺🇦🇮🇱
The last story is the perfect spot for Steve's pieces, IMNSHO! It's the time when we can all un-numb from the ick and darkness in the world. I have been watching SH for years, and he is such a trusted 'friend' to me, and many others I am sure. Thanks Tamron for this vid, and thanks Steve, for having the stones to do the puff pieces, and loving every minute of it. The best 2.5 (give or take) minutes ever! Peace all.
"That came natural. I had to work to read." Dude is a legend.
so damn true!!!!
Steve Hartman is a treasure in humanity. I watched his segment all the time. Thank you Steve. Everyone Loves you ❤❤❤❤

He most certainly is and you can be too. Sometimes, all one needs is a friend and encouragement.

Having the label of "Nerd" is most definitely a badge of honor!
Nerds run the world.
Steve Hartman is an American treasure, in the spirit of Paul Harvey. There is good, and Steve reminds us of that!
Also, Go Dawgs!
He's the only good thing to come from CBS. He's amazing.
