Isn't she such a beautiful woman? I swear, she glows with a vibrant light and it's the most magnetic pull. Alicia if you see this - I graduate with my BSW in December and am beginning my MSW program in January. I also live in Kentucky as well and I hope to meet other vibrant and passionate social workers like yourself.
I am so glad to have found your channel. I am currently working on my application to Kentucky but have already submitted one to Alabama.. Your videos have been helpful..
Hey Dr. Alicia. I am considering making adjustments to my Statement of Purpose after watching this video. Currently my statement is at the max allowed of 5 pages (double spaced). How many pages would you recommend?
Hi!! Yes, do not go over 5 pages. Make sure to go back and make sure you included everything they asked, without including extra info that may be hindering from what is being asked. As a professor now, i noticed that at times we start writing and include so much info that is not needed. Keep it concise and speak to how you envision yourself as a future doctoral student since that’s what’s they really want to know. Good luck 🥰
Hi Dr. Alicia (@@yourfavalicia) I was accepted into the University of Kentucky's DSW Program today. I am excited and a little nervous after reading an online forum where a few individuals spoke negatively about the program (i.e., everyone gets accepted, the disconnect between the AI courses and professors, etc.). UK was in my top 2 desired programs. If you get a moment, could you shed a little light (if you're aware) on the acceptance rate of the UK DSW Program and just overall progression through the program (i.e., courses, professors, etc.)? Thank you for any additional feedback.
@@yourfavalicia Oh OK I was watching some of your videos I was trying to find some information on what your background experiences is in because I was really looking towards being an adjunct professor where are you and child welfare a medical social work?
Thank you so much for your insight and experience. I am applying to this program right now and was feeling unsure how to structure all the info requested. Appreciate you!

When you were getting your DSW were you working at the time??
Yes! Full time!! It's possible, you just have to be strategic about which days you will commit to your school work/studies.
