The only thing we bring with us from your list is the First Aid Kit!

    My list is slightly different.
The non surge power strip is handy, if you are bring more than one or two things that need charging.
Little first aid kits are great, I just make my own using a zip lock bag. Besides the normal alcohol wipes, bandaids, 3 in 1 ointment and such, there is a travel size bottle of aspirin, Pepto-Bismol tablets and antacid tablets.
Sun screen if you are cruising in a location like the Caribbean. While the ship will sell you some, it's about double the price!
No need to do your own laundry on vacation! Heck most cruise lines offer bag days (everything you can squeeze in their laundry bag for a flat rate) mid way through the cruise. However bring a travel size container of spot removal can be priceless, especially if you drink something that stains, like coffee. It just takes one kid to run by and bump you. 😁
Some one and five dollar bills. While you won't need them on the ship, there is off the ship. When you drop off your bags with the porter and tour guides are the most common, but if you want to grab a little snack to eat in port or something to drink like a Coke, or maybe donate to something, they are handy.

My first aid kit includes, self test covid and flu kits, antibiotics for travelers diarrhea and lomotil, a stomach acid reducer and tums, benadryl, a decongestant, nasal spray, eye drops, reef safe sun screen, insect spray, benadyrl cream and 1 percent hydrocortisone cream, neosporin, steri strips, assorted bandages and gauze, lysol wipes and hand sanitizer. It may change a bit depending on where we are going...also alcohol wipes and a dental repair kit, and finally sea sickness pills

@EmbraceToday-travel as you discovered the medical clinic isn't cheap...on a cruise to Antartica my cabin mate got sick 4 days before the end of the cruise. She went to the medical clinic and it cost her 250.00...they didn't test her for anything and gave her some drugs. I didn't have a flu test kit(Pfizer makes one, test for influenza A and B and covid. It's a little expensive $40 but that's cheaper than a trip to the clinic) but I tested her for covid, negative thank goodness...several people on the ship had been diagnosed with the flu...there was alot of coughing going on. I spent the rest of the cruise bringing her food and avoiding her and everyone else as much as possible. I didn't want to get stuck in South America because I was sick. One day I logged 50 flights of stairs. The day after I got home I woke up with an itchy nose...went to the clinic and I had influenza A...started tamiflu immediately and it never really developed into a full blown case. I find these illnesses are more prevalent on long cruises. I try to get my physician to write me a script for a broad spectrum antibiotic and my next trip to Asia in January I'm going to ask for Tamiflu also. The main reason she went to the clinic was because without the Dr's note the ship wouldn't refund her shore excursion money. She had travel insurance and is still working on getting reimbursed for the clinic.

I was thinking *essential* essentials, like clothing, or maybe tipping money, or documents? All the rest you mention (other than the first aid kit!) can seriously be left at home and are nice to have, but not essential!

Yes, I see your point 🙃 I was thinking, I wear clothes everyday, so of course I’ll bring those. The 5 items I mentioned are things that I really only use on a cruise, as they perform a special function when on the ship => *cruise* essentials
