    The video of arriving in Malaysia ➡ • I Had To Leave Sri Lan...
    After arriving in Malaysia, I stayed at an airport hotel. In today’s episode I take you along the journey back to Kuala Lumpur. We check in into my new apartment and later of course get some proper food! I missed the food in Malaysia!

    I am Ken Abroad, a full-time traveler traveling southeast Asia, currently in Sri Lanka, making Sri Lanka travel vlogs. It is my goal here on this channel to visit every country in southeast Asia and bring you along the journey.
    You won’t see much tourist places in my videos, I rather like to show the “real” sides of each country in my videos. Where do the local people go to eat? Where do they hang out? How do the locals travel through the country? Stuff like that.
    There will be almost daily uploads on this channel, during the next months from Sri Lanka. I will be traveling Sri Lanka, showing you around local places and try lots of different Sri Lankan food. Join the journey if you are interested in experiencing Sri Lanka now from a more authentic local point of view.

    When we were in a small town near Kuching in Sarawak called Lundu, we went for some food in a small cafe. I had with me a pretty expensive brand new digital video camera, probably worth about £700 (RM4000). This was 22 years ago 18th April 2000. We walked out of the cafe and went shopping for supplies for our trip to the Gunung Gading national park. After about 20 minutes a guy on a motorbike came shouting around the various squares of shop houses and from his arm was dangling my video camera. I didn't even realise at that time that I had left it. Since then we always visit this town when we return, there are some very honest people arround and was so happy to have the camera returned as I had bought it specially to video my brother in laws wedding.

      Good for both of you man 😁 I'm a Malay pensioner, experienced similar occurance, a couple of weeks ago. I hastily strapped my goods on my motorcycle seat, prior to shopping at local supermarket. After 20 minutes ride I arrived home, I realise a pack of half a dozen tissue box were missing, my wife said I'm done, ykwim 😁 anyway I try my luck and returned to the supermarket to 'scan' my recklessness, at the customer service counter, a guard handed a pack of tissue in concerned 😁 an Indian woman found that pack which I accidentally placed it on her motorbike parked beside me, when I fled the scene 😀 she handed to the guard thus put in cs counter desk. It just a small deal, she could just take it away unnoticeable and no..she returned it graciously. I took it as a gesture from God to always be nice, don't easily give up and appreciate the moment beside things. 😁😂😂

    The rooms are beautiful with marble bathrooms and rain showers, which is awesome;
    The nurse who helped you to test is very lovely and kind, which is a plus for Malaysia;
    You didn't do the test at the airport, it shows that you are a very smart travel expert, thank you for sharing!👍😃👏
    對於發生的意外,你算幸運,相機回來,也算是一個好的開始;
    他們的房間,已及大理石的浴室很漂亮,還有灑花淋浴,真讚;

    First of all, I think the hospitals are now hardly open for public PCR and RTK test except admission; while most klinik (like the one you went) has it. RM35 is reasonable. Some are still expensive but the prices are coming down.
    KL will be quite quiet the next few days because of Hari Raya. A lot of people have returned home (balik kampung) for the celebration. So you will see a more relaxed KL and most like by 9 May it will be super buzzling with traffic jam again.

    Leaving valuable possessions like a camera in a taxi or on public transport is something I dread when travelling, but easily done ! It is a horrible feeling in your stomach when that happens but such a relief when you get it back. So lucky that you were still at the airport and not in a city taxi when your chances of not recovering would have been higher. The food looks good and the restaurant very clean. I am forgetful too so what I do is a counting my items. Let's say 5. Then I repeat it 5, 5, 5 in mind to "imprint" it. So I make sure I get 5 items to bring with me when I reach a destination.
      I make it a habit of NEVER using any black bags. I go for the brightest colors to help me spot the item. If a bag does isn't bright enough I buy those 2 inches ribbons and tie it on the bags. But counting is the best. Second is getting ready and counting again before reaching/leaving a place.

Local markets ? Street food area ? Any area visiting in the surroundings of Kuala Lumpur outside the City Center .... have fun in K.L.

    Even if the bag is missing. You have to understand, NOT ALL taxi drivers know what you drop on their taxi. If the next passenger after that steals the bag, it is unfortunate for the taxi driver. Because MOST people would definitely accuse him of stealing the bag.

    Thanks for what you do Ken. Your channel is so informative. I am hoping to visit Malaysia soon so your content is invaluable. You are a credit to the RUclips community because you are always polite and respectful of all cultures. You never judge and remain mindful you are a guest in those countries. Some other content providers don't appear to do that as well as you. As a side issue, I'm looking into the viability of obtaining a Touch n Go card or similar when I make my journey there. This is because I like the idea of having a card that works like the Octopus card in Hong Kong which I found very useful on my trip to HK. You can use it to buy from shops like Seven Eleven and for local transportation costs, I'm told. This saves having to use cash and ending up with a lot of change. You should be able to load it in certain shops also. That's my theory at least. I'm not keen on the E Wallet version as it seems complicated. Do you or any other subscriber know anything about this and is it worth while? Perhaps you could cover that briefly in a future video. Not to worry if you can't, I'll watch whatever content you provide. Danke sehr!
