With the Class 745s mainly operating the London Liverpool Street-Norwich route. I should think that Greater Anglia could allow the Class 720s to run all the way to Norwich.
I must have whooshed through this station so many times. It's good to see the village behind the name. If there are trains going to Clacton, there must also be trains going to Clacton's more genteel twin, Walton-on-the-Naze.
Another excellent film Sarah, thank you for sharing. I had no idea about the private Hatfield Peveral station , despite being raised in Chelmsford and knowing of Boreham House too.
Hatfield Peverel is the village i was raised in. originally called Hadfelda(?) in Anglo=Saxon times, Peveral was the surname of Ranulph Peverel a Norman knight who came over during the conquest
1:22 I'm sure the clocks are just an error, but I want to tell you it's railway (London) time versus local time, because I grew up in Bristol and the station clock there still has two hands. And, as I tell people at least, we had the Great Western Railway and it was them who invented time, or less excitingly, the practise of using London time rather than local time all across the country, because they were the first high-speed long-distance East-West route where it actually mattered.
08:20 A preparatory school (often abbreviated to a prep school) is a private school that teaches children up to 11. At 11, they typically transition to the senior part of a private school.
Was it really 1963 that it was electrified? I was six then which is why I don't ever remember going to see my grandparents in Colchester on a steam train. Excellent video, usual, Sarah.
I do always try to look out for them but neglected to on this occasion! My journeys will no doubt take me down that stretch of line many times in the future though!
SARAH WITH THE TRAINS - I DO LOVE YOUR DAYS OUT AND ABOUT, ITS THE RAILWAYS YOU DON`T EXPECT THE CLOCKS TO BE RIGHT GIRL, THERE IS A STUPID EXCUSE FOR THEM TO BE WRONG, AND IT IS THE MAIN SIGNAL FOR THE CLOCKS ARE SET AT DERBY FROM THEIR THE SIGNAL IS SENT OUT TO ALL STN`S INCLUDING THE TUBE AND THEN TO ALL THE OTHERS CLOCKS I KNOW ITS NUTS.
I have been to Diss. Plus I used to live in Long Stratton and Diss station was the nearest station than travelling up to Norwich and to get the train from Norwich to London.
Hi Sarah, liked this video, similar idea to what G Loves Trains does. I see you met up with a load of fellow You Tubers around Christmas time, including Jen on the Move and her partner, also called Sarah I believe. On those Clacton-Liv' St' units my nephew in law may have been driving one of them as he is based at Clacton MPD. He was encouredged by me as I was a Driver, then Manager at the time. Are you going to do any stations along the Norwich-Cambridge line? If so let me know as I live near one of them...I also have a channel. Take care, Jon B. 🤓
Hi Jon! Glad you liked the video! I've been and visited almost all the stations on the Norwich to Cambridge line over a few videos in 2023 & 2024 🙂 Only station left to visit there is Shippea Hill but there's a plan in the pipeline for that.
@sarahwiththetrains Hi Sarah, thanks for your quick reply. My Railway career started at Shippea Hill back in October 1984... There's actually nothing to see there now and I reckon the Signal Box has gone as well by now. Did you visit Brandon? That's where I live. Take care, Jon B. 🤓
Brilliant video Sarah. Honestly! Seeing you having to squeeze your hip between these ill though out 3+2 seating on the GA 720's is just making them look less appealing to me. This does look like a nice station you've been to though. :)
The 720s have the potential to be really great units but the seating arrangement really lets them down. Also the seats could do with a bit more padding!
I was getting mixed up... I thought your final destination was "near" Kelvedon Hatch - Secret Nuclear Bunker - But after looking up that is a different station on the same line you need if you want to visit... Maybe get all the train youtuber together in their PE kits and have a go nuclear-races course - it is designed to get everyone hot and muddy
Loved the film know it well
Parking HP is NCP and Battlebridge looked to be Anglia

I missed you telling us about the plastic flappy bins and the yellow gravel boxes, otherwise another enjoyable station viewing.
I'll be sure to add in some extra grit bin and flappy bin content in future videos! Glad you liked the video 🙂
Excellent video as always Sarah 👍
Never Been to that station either But love to meet you all on one of them one day.

It’s dull! but it’s true. Could have yourself a catch phrase/ t shirt logo there
Another great video Sarah
Maybe I'll have to open up an online shop for t-shirts with it on! Glad you enjoyed the video!
Another brilliant video Sarah, nice station, great walk too.
I am enjoying your travel very much. I to travel in so many ways, where to next ?? I will be watching Toooo :o)
Glad you're enjoying the videos! Not entirely sure where to next! That's part of the adventure!

Thx Sarah, and B.
the new housing estate over the road used to be the site of Lord Rayleigh's Dairy

Hi Sarah. Welcome to 2025!
Surprised you didn’t get a clip of the polar bears at Jimmy’s Farm between Ipswich and Manningtree. They’re the unexpected treat of my weekly commute.
There are also huskies. Or are they wolves?
I do always try to look out for them but neglected to on this occasion! My journeys will no doubt take me down that stretch of line many times in the future though!
Brilliant video Sarah. Never been to that Station but really looks a awesome location. Love the Estate Agent for Waiting Shelters
I could make a packet being a waiting shelter estate agent! Possibly.
Excellent video again Sarah!
🙂👍
hi Sarah - I hope all is well and dapper
I hope all is well with you too!
Thankyou Sarah for another interesting video.

I not been to Diss for years

A highly enjoyable video Sarah & out of interest what do you use for to generate a random station to visit
I use wheelofnames.com I made a list of 10 stations on the Greater Anglia network (taking into account engineering works etc) to choose from.
Shoutout to Millie Manders and The Shutup...
Yes!!!! Love them!

Why do the station clocks show seconds? Insanity.
Why does Will get blamed for stopping trains?
