Hi Cody, a good way to remember the difference between seSenta 60 and seTenta is that S comes before T in the alphabet. See highlighted letters seSenta/60, seTenta/70.
Very original it's the first time I see this and the interaction and editing is super.
I'm in Mexico and it's confusing DOS y DOCE, TRES y TRECE and SEIS y SIETE.

I live in Mexico too and the absolute worst for me is 60 vs 70! I constantly get corrected with the amount of money I give. Luckily everyone is pretty honest and lets me know it's too much.

No sé si los precios son más altos o no, pero he visto que 1 Colombian Peso = 0,00022 € - si alguién quiere calcular. =) Un boleto de autobús en Viena, Austria es 2,40 €.

Great video, after many visits to Colombia I have the same problem with large numbers. People speak quickly and only tell you once. Even when they repeat a price, I have problems. Need to practice!

I got a few wrong too, usually around the 6-7 similarity. The weird number names are a small price to pay for every word being pronounced the way it’s spelled!

Cody and I make the same mistake with 60 and 70.
It's a very common mistake. It's hard to get that little "t" from "setenta".
Uno, once. Dos, doce. Tres, trece. Cuatro, catorce. Cinco, quince. The numbers 11, 12, 13, 14, and 15 make more sense to me now than ever before.

60 y 70… Lo PEOR. My brain just can’t do it. Y lo de “dos en punto” y “doce en punto…” A huge part of la comprensión auditiva es acostumbrarte al hecho de que se faltan de dejar claras las separaciones entre palabras que empiezan y terminan con las mismas vocales. I can’t believe it even tripped up Maria… Well, makes ME feel a little better.

That was an absolutely super video you two! Great, great exercise. I only got one wrong, but i had the luxury of repeatedly listening to Maria say the number as many times as i needed. For me, 186,148 was the hardest number. I made a dumb mistake, i mistook the "trece" for "tres" and wrote 3,000 instead of 13,000. That was my only error. I have no idea what a Colombian peso is worth so I couldnt compare the prices to those in the US. Thank you both again for the awesome challenge! I really enjoyed it very much! Exactly. It was our first time flying since the pandemic started. We were at the Hyatt, which allowed us to continue being careful while getting our travel legs back underneath us. We took a tour and got to see a lot of the city, it was very nice.@@WhyNotSpanish

Cuando yo fui a Santa Marta, Colombia yo note la cantidad de billetes que tuve llevar conmigo. Solo una cena por 6 personas me cuesta algo como 40,000 pesos!! No se cuanto es en dólares pero no importa ese, es que ellos tiene los números grandes y billetes grandes. No piensan Uds. cambia a los números mas bajo como Mexico?? 😮 Soy un gringo y Juan no es mi nombre real… Soy de USA. Pero estoy quedando en Mexico desde la pandemia… 😷

I got three of the numbers wrong, and all of them were about the 6 and 7 mix ups. It is definitely a struggle. It was still fun to practice!
I live in Ecuador, so the dollar is used and the big numbers not as much a problem. I checked exchange rate on the almuerzo. Its about the same here. 6 & 7 a huge problem for me. I play music in the orchestra. Constantly directing us to compás numbers (measure) in the partituras (sheet music). It forced me to learn the lower numbers, 1-300. 500, is slowly coming. I have it some days and forget others. Local don't understand my 12 & 2.
I always confuse sixty and seventy too! glad to know I'm not alone

I love this channel! So helpful. Also, it would be nice to know how the counting system works in Colombia for billions, trillions, etc. It’s different than in most English speaking countries. For example in Canada and United States, 1,000,000,000,000 = 1 trillion; but I think in Colombia the same number is only 1 billion?
