Christ's Manner

  • Our approach to sharing the Gospel matters. We may tend toward admonishing or arguing with people-but, as Alistair Begg observes, when we look at Jesus’ manner in approaching nonbelievers, it is vastly different. Since Christ treated those who did not know Him with great kindness, gentleness, mildness, tenderness, and consideration, are we then to go to a needy world with anything less?
    Preach Date: August 27, 2018
    Scripture: Matthew 12:15-21

The more I listen to Pastor Begg, the more I realize how pharisaical I have been towards those who need Jesus. It breaks my heart that he has been criticized recently, and even persecuted by other church leaders. A wedge has been injected into the Christian church that is dividing us. This is shameful. I pray that other leaders will reach out in love to those who desperately need salvation, the way Pastor Begg reaches out.

Grace and peace saints. Pastor Alistair Begg has taught me so much and made me realize how spiteful people truly are toward those who are looking for love in all the wrong places and need the gospel of Christ (as we all need the gospel, myself included). We are all born in a state of spiritual decay and moral corruption known otherwise as sin. We are totally powerless, weak, frail, and unable to do anything to earn acceptance with God or even contribute anything to our salvation. Jesus Christ died in the sinners place as the supreme manifestation and expression of God's love. As those who have received that free gift of salvation and understand the powerful effect it has on our lives, it is our responsibility to extend that love to others, thereby magnifying the praise our Lord Jesus Christ deserves. Lets always remember that it was while we were helpless, ungodly, sinners that God demonstrated His love by saving us from His wrath and the grip of sin. Have a blessed day saints!

This is so convicting, and such a gift to be reminded of Jesus' attitude toward us when we were helpless and hopeless, left for dead on the side of the road as the Pharisees walked the other way. We wanted kindness, gentleness, and humility and we found it in Jesus when He called us to Himself and carried our burden. And we knew we were loved eternally. Thank you, Pastor Allister, for reminding us of our mission, dependence on the Holy Spirit, and the character of Christ. Thank you! Praying for you.

Jesus was gentle, modest and kind with the sick and suffering; the lost who came to him. He openly and continually rebuked the pharisees and sadducees. Why? Because they needed it. For example, pharisees can get into a works mindset that never extends from their own personal lives into the touching of others. The love of God is not in them, and they deserve wrath; to see the real value and truth that is offered from the divine, magnificent grace and glory of our Holy God.

Pastor Begg, Jesus did come to me gently and with compassion. His gentleness is why I fell in love with Him. His love is why I follow Him. These last few years I have come to see just how rebellious my heart is and how I do need to come under His discipline. I am growing up in Him, after all. The "training" has left me parched for the times when I knew His gentleness and love, but He has restored it today through your message AND He has taught me a way to be happy and confident in evangelizing: "When he is on the Gospel, he is blessed; when is off the gospel, he is cursed." What else is there to say anymore when words are being redefined and voided of meaning? Speak the Gospel and let the Holy Spirit do His work! Thank you again Pastor Begg. The Lord has blessed me with joy and knowledge through this message 🙏 😊

We each have to rightly divide the word of God. And we have to be so mindful to not allow Satan to divide us or lead any of us off into a direction we are not go.
But the word is clear not to participate in anything that is against Gods standard. Now that’s different than showing love toward them in a different setting.

Was it amazing that his last sermon brought out all the Pharisees. Have they not read Luke? How can they not see they are acting like the older brother and the pharisees. Macarthur and all his mini follower preachers, note this, none of the presbyterians went after Begg, because they know who they are in the parable. We have what is closeted fundamentalism/seperatism that we now know their face.

Concerning his comments about the transgender situation the question should be , why did a believer ask another believer what they should do. Do they not have the Holy Spirit to guide them in such matters. Was not the Word of God readily available at their finger tips. Why in this day is the body of Christ still depending on someone to tell them who God is and what He expects from us. My prayer for the entire body of Christ is let the Bible become your preacher and the Holy Spirit your teacher; and if the body would do that we would destroy the strategy of Satan that he is using to divide the body of Christ being :(This man's doctrine is biblical, this man' s isn't) this needs to stop for we all must stand individually before the judgment seat of Christ and give an account and He has no respect of persons
