I think there was always this many people ''cheating'' but before the gunplay update the large majority were just scripting which was mostly just an annoyance but since there is no reason to script anymore everyone that was scripting just esp's or soft aims now and it is SO much fucking worse. Imagine making guns more ''new player'' friendly to increase your player base only to expose how shit your anti-cheat is and make cheating 10 times the problem it was... Good bye mate.
i agree but no one really scripted before it was super easy to get a consistent no recoil spray now its harder bc u got 2 diff sprays either when u crouch or stand so its harder to get consistent
There’s more to life than grinding a game with developers like these. content isn’t pushed out to balance the game or to fix the state of things, they do it because of financial incentive. Ever since quitting properly I’ve had so much more time to do other things in life. You would think the devs know more than the players about the state of their game, but I guess not! Helk having 30,000 hours and wondering why people start to aimbot/esp instead of script once recoil was removed is baffling. Game is run by a bunch of money hungry clowns. For me personally the "downfall" of Rust started with the tech tree which was the first huge cater for zergs and made the game almost to easy - if you had a certain clue you had guns 20-30 min into wipe and the whole prim stage was wasted and overgone entirely. But now after all the following updates and primarily due to the recoil change/PVP system overhaul the game doesn't feel like Rust anymore to me - it is just an FPS Shooter with aspects of base building and not the "hardcore" survival game which made your heart bumping when you found a gun in a box and had to carry it home or you clutched a 1 vs 4-5 for all the loot you worked so hard for - no rewarding feeling when killing someone and no screams when you triple someone - because it got a casual thing. I still play here and there for "nostalgic" facts but the joy i had back in the days before the "huge changes" and overflow of content couldn't be reached - either due to the to fast progression and boring gameplay, the lack of roaming people or due to the insane amount of cheaters nowadays who ruin your wipe entirely so that me as a solo or my small group just quit and don't even bother to continue. It is sad to see that so much excellent players who had a high stand in the community turned their back on the game - personally i wish you all the best for your future career in terms of university and also content creation.
Well consider this: would you have still racked up all those hours if they never dropped a single update on the game? I agree the progression system is way to easy now but you have been playing so long that even old progression would likley feel easy
@@SpectreOps I my personal case - I started playing Rust again in 2018 after I bought it in 2014 and just casualy played it here and there. It is not about "updating" the game but the huge amount of "game breaking" updates Facepunch released in the last 1,5 years. If you take only "tech tree", PVP/recoil update, minis/scrap heli, tug boat, industrial system, clan system and cars beside the "smaller tweaks" like new monuments - 90% of those updates just favored big groups and zergs. For me the balance of the game is just broken and most of the updates came in while not finished or really thought over - e.g. the new cliffs and mountains are so pain in the ass to climb or the doorbug on tugboats in terms of explosive dmg. Meanwhile i have the feeling they didn't do much in terms of improving performance, fixing bugs and game failures and most importantly - improving their anti cheat. I definetly would have even spent more hours than i have done now when the game just got minor tweaks in the state it was before all those massiv updates came in - because it didn't feel needed at this point and i still had the passion and dedication to improve as a player in all terms of the game relating mechanics - aiming, recoil control, movement, game sense, monument knowledge etc - this was the main fact and the "hardness" and uniqueness of the game which kept me playing.

If you have no gamesense now you still can win fights by just camping or playing in larger groups while on old recoil you would definetly lose more often to a guy with more gamesense and maybe an inferior recoil control. I don't know why you guys all think that everyone could beam 200 m with guns - this is completely bs. Maybe 5% or even less of the playerbase were able to just consistently "beam" you over those distance and if tho - they spent a whole fcking lot of time and dedication into their practice. But even tho with the best recoil control you would still got shit on by someone with far better movement, game knowledge and gamesense - for example i could kill scripters just because they were fcking braindead. Now the game is so RNG and dull and sure you can make also a lot up in terms of your skill but not as much as back on the old system and if you didn't get killed by one member of the 10 men bot zerg the bloom will surely fuck you over :D i get your point on gamesense and "good" players are still "good" but i feel like the personal playerskill doesn't matter as much anymore in total.

Yeah I stopped playing rust with 1.4K hours a bit after the recoil changes still played here and there but not really the same, I switched to OW2 for the time being thats been fun good change of pace. You might wanna try OW if not all good and wish you all the best.
i wish that face punch added the choice for server owners to have an easy way to do old recoil and not new recoil for the old players not the players with 10 hours tripling everyone

I do honestly think that the whole recoil update has made more people closet cheat with scripts these days but me and my friends still manage to have fun playing the game regardless.

I honestly stop playing too, I know it’s gonna be hard for the devs to stay ahead of it, but the fact you cannot even play official servers and have to be really careful on the others. Even if only only a few people, especially if they’re not really blatant , really can ruin many games. Especially in a game like Rust since there’s so much work that goes into preparations for things like raids. It’s honestly the only thing that could really really hurt this game in my opinion. FP takes all the profit from skins every single week from marketplaces and then leaves it on the individual server admin all while not getting paid to run the day-to-day operations. I mean if they can’t even keep it off there official servers and everyone knows how blatant it is there, it just shows a lot unfortunately. If you even say anything, many people will just say get better since it’s not really blatant and then week later you get a notification saying that person was removed.
Game was ruined a long time ago sadly. Cheaters seems to be on the uprise in every game though, I've noticed a big difference in all the fps games I play.. It just sucks man
Only way I can see this game being fixed is if content creators of rust and OG players went on some sort of strike the OGs of rust built the game pretty much until the OTV came along then it’s gone to shit even old recoil alone could send the game in a better detection
