At last our two volumes about Nigel are now complete. It's been a pleasure to write about Nigel and it's given me absolute joy to introduce our first original character with such a deep background and the exciting adventures he's faced on the NWR. I've had a great time as a writer being able to explore more and go into great depth with Nigel, and as ever enjoyed every moment of narrating his stories. Cannot wait for what's to come and here's to hoping Nigel has many more adventures in the future!
Im very pleased with the final outcome of the Nigel saga. He will indeed have many more adventures 😊 and big thanks to warshipNo10 for making the model of Nigel which made these stories possible
Great Narrating I am looking forward to the next episode of Jimmy the Jinty Tank engine hope to see Oliver Cromwell the Britannia Pacific or maybe Richard and Roger's Black 5 brother or sister
Quite nice to see Nigel becoming a celebrity, even though he's content with his station. Thomas' naughty idea reminds me a bit of that one he had in "Spotless Record," only lower and more spiteful. Never thought he'd manipulate Sir Topham Hatt. I've noticed a some glitches and brief Fade Outs in a couple of scenes. Ever thought of using a new video maker? Also, the engines could move faster, like they do now in the new CGI seasons. Maybe more zooming in and out. Faster crossfades. And have episodes at about 10 minutes or less, like NWR1991 usually does. Am I asking too much of you? On the whole, excellent!
Had to rewatch this and boy, I love it. Nigel is such a charming fellow who won't tolerate bs from anyone. I must admit, I think it's nice to see he isn't an adventurous type. Rather, he's contempt with where he is, which is a real nice touch. Good work, and have a magnificent day.
Quite the brilliant ending to Nigel's tales. To be honest, it'd be the ideal RWS story finale, as the official finale is a bit all over the place to me, and there was the little hark back to the early days with Thomas being the shunter again. Nigel was certainly quite the contrast to Thomas in that he was happy where he was and the clash between them was superb. Additionally though it was quite devious on Thomas's part, his trick has quite an accomplishment that he was able to trick The Fat Controller of all characters.
TheBlueE2 Yeah, you're probably right. I didn't mi d the original finale but it somehow felt less the more I look at and think about it. This, along with Nigel's stories really should've been the real capstone to the RWS had Christopher Awdry himself had taken inspiration from great and talented fans like yourself, dcg12b and shunterproductions with these impressive stories. If the Railway Series would've continued and ended with Nigel's stories, then the RWS would've ended on a true high note.
I love how this story is as if Thomas was meeting his origins and they both have similarities in many ways. I really liked seeing Nigel's story play out. Good job!
A very well written story with a great lesson in the end. Thomas looking down on his old job and forgetting how important it was was bound to cause friction between Nigel and himself. No one likes someone being all in their face about something even if it wasn't their intention. It's as well Nigel is content doing the station pilot work as just about every engine that did it before ended up on a branch line and it is nice that Nigel is not afraid to speak his mind.
What a fantastic ending to Nigel's big story. I was surprised to see him and Thomas come to blows about who they are and what they are proud to be. Thomas's trick was quite surprising and I didn't expect that much of a punishment for his actions after what happened to Nigel. You should forward your character, Nigel, to HiT and see if they will accept him into the show. You never know, he might become more famous :).
In my opinion, 2 wrongs dont make a right. As much as Nigel didn't have to be so rude, Thomas should not have put poor Nigel through that situation. Nigel has been through a lot and deserves a lot of respect.
Brilliantly done Mate, loved every second of the story. Really love how the story builds up. Probably my favourite story out of the entire volume! Makes sense as to how Thomas would at some point return to his post at being station pilot! Really liked that bit :D Nice Job once again Mate, keep it up.
This has been one very awesome NRS Book! I like Nigel too, he's definetly got that charisma you'd expect in a NWR engine, and I personally prefer him over Philip any day, because he's better than that god-for saken boxcab! Awesome job, especially to dcg12b, who has got a knack for writing!
Is it just me staring at my laptop screen for too long or does the screen keep on going wierd. I love the scene where Thomas and Nigel first meet. Thomas didnt see that one coming! LOL :D
Amazing! This is something I don't think has even been touched on by the Reverend himself; Thomas remembering his days as a station pilot. The only thing I found unusual was The Fat Controller saying he rewarded Thomas with his branchline. Wasn't that the Fat Director? Either way, that's only a minor critique. Everything else was spot on. I would also ask about trusting Nigel with the run to the Works, but then I remembered Triple Header. Also, who's the J66 beside Alice at the LNER lineup?
Russell Streak Well, technically, the Fat Director and the Fat Controller are the same person since when the railway become the rail network that it is since the events of the first Railway Series books, he became the official head of the railway. I'm not sure myself unless someone can correct me but I think they could be the same person.
Quang Tran The positions are the same, but it's more of a generation thing. If this takes place in the present day (2000s), then tha Fat Director would be the current Controller's great-grandfather.
Right... How on earth do I sum this up? I really don't know, overall I enjoyed Nigel's developememt, he's a little bit Mary Sue like, but his encounters is what makes him interesting as well as the 4 different scenarios he's undergone on the NWR. Good work overall to both Shunter and DCG.
It wouldn't be fair to end with Nigel being bullied by an already famous character , Nigel is a good replacement . #SendThomasPacking #ReallyE2vilEngine
David Reyz Nigel is unable to be used in any other fans stories as he is an original character in my series and the same rules apply to my series as they do with ERS team's series that no original characters are to be used any other fan videos/series I had an incident with NASCAR221 who was using Nigel in his sprites on Deviantart in which I demanded him to take down immediately
Trudy Sturino Well, he has to be since he's also a taskmaster in addition to being the head of the railway and a father figure to his engines. What the engines are going through are virtually the same life lessons we humans are going through in our daily lives and if they had some sort of triumph, then the Fat Controller will be pleased. But, if they somehow screw up, that's the moment when he'll have to be lenient on then even if we don't agree with him and the methods he uses to make them realize the errors of the mistakes they make.
It's ironic that Thomas interacted with a LNER J50 (in this case, Nigel), especially given how much attention Awdry's original vision for Thomas has gotten lately.
Thomas because he questions Nigel as if not going on an adventure was an evil thing . I have lost respect for him and would favor Nigel as replacement for the TV series main character . Also AceofTrains0706 R&G hates me for no reason and is a cyberbully .
The Irish Express You know, I never thought of that. Maybe Thomas started that whole debacle when he started to brag about wanting to see the world over the role of a shunter and his proud upheaval of his primary role as a branch line engine probably got under Nigel's metal skin and set him off. That could be me but it's possible that Thomas set Nigel off with the whole argument since he didn't appreciate his former role as a station pilot and took his branch line and how he got it for granted over the years after he was rewarded with it for saving James all those years ago.
Hmm... Well, the LNER, GWR, LMS and the LBSC were all rivals, but sometimes, they come to one of their rivals galas to support them and make new friends, that's what they do on the North Western.
Thomas used to be a simple Shunter. He did jobs in the yard and acted as a station pilot, fetching coaches for the bigger engines. Then he rescued James after his brake blocks caught fire, and was rewarded with his own branch line and bigger jobs.
You have to understand Nigel's personality. Yes, he was sharp in his response, but Nigel is protective over what he has, due to him losing his original duty. So Nigel never takes for granted what he has. He is tough, defiant and an engine not to mess with. That's why I wrote when Thomas openly gave out his opinion without any thought of how Nigel would react, Nigel responded accordingly to his hardened nature. Hope that helps.
its a nicely riten episode as the others were I was not adsacely expecting thomas talking about his early NWR sericve as station piote the blue tank engine sounded like a top link engine driver looking back to when he started out cleaning I think SR topham hat punishedment was well cosen it also give the blue tank engine the carce to remase I like that you give nelgel a northen actsent it sounds very silour to our fred are thire eny plans to do a episode with some lady steam engine drivers in the reason way is because that the ritors of the tv show are planning at some point to inerjuse them do to a comapate which was a insulet to the bitish steam presavtion movement and Wilbert aldery good name
J50's have such an interesting trait.....thats what makes them my most favorite types of tank engines.....secondingbthe C1 Atlantics and LNER Garratt's
Is that I feel like Nigel didn't really get any sort of telling off, outside of Thomas' stunt. Personally, I think that the controller should've told him that sometimes engines go a different way and not let personal feelings get to you and spout insults, for it may hit you hard.
Ok, I'm sorry but, enough is ENOUGH!!! I won't deny that Thomas was wrong and justly punished, but this whole mess started because of Nigals rudeness and unfounded, and frankly, unwarrented comments. The guys got a lousy attitude and he needs it adjusted. Especially considering this isn't the first time, but the SECOND, that said attitude has caused trouble between him and one of the others!
ShunterProductions I guess, but that habit of jumping to conclusions and running his mouth is gonna get Nigel in trouble one day. Lord knows, it did for me, and I had learn to drop it pretty damn quick. I just feel Nigel should to... or at least have it addressed.
+MasterSwo a good point but it was Thomas who manipulated the Fat Controller into organising the gala. But in the end both engines put their differences behind them
ShunterProductions I won't deny that. Thomas was in the wrong and his punishment justified. I'm just saying the whole thing could've been avoided if Nigel hadn't gone running his mouth.
+MasterSwo Well, true but Thomas actually set him off when he started to brag about his current status as a branch line engine but Nigel's attitude towards Thomas about his position is justified as well. Thomas bragged about his current position while he and Nigel were talking and he inadvertently set the J50 off telling him that he can have big responsibilities one day and said that every tank engine would want to see the world one day. If you didn't watch Nigel's previous stories you would've realized that he was incapable of pulling passenger trains. His role, therefore, was primarily a Station Pilot and he excels at shunting compared to being a branch line engine, anyway. Nigel was meant to be a shunter and that's how he wants himself to be so I can understand where he's coming from. Not EVERY tank engine would want to see the world and may NOT share Thomas' need to send the world, keep in mind.
At last our two volumes about Nigel are now complete. +ShunterProductions Nigel has to be one of my favourite characters .
I like that you gave him Terry's voice .
You do such an awesome job with this dcg12b, I mean it, you really have got talent!
Great Narrating I am looking forward to the next episode of Jimmy the Jinty Tank engine hope to see Oliver Cromwell the Britannia Pacific or maybe Richard and Roger's Black 5 brother or sister
Glad to see ol Tommy boy get his comeuppance. He needed a swift and blunt reminder of where he came from. Good job on Nigel!
Dcg12b has an awesome narrating voice. This is also my favorite Nigel story yet.
I find Thomas and Nigel as a mirror for each other. They're both funny, kind, responsible and most importantly, Really Useful.
it funny you say that for I was thinking the same thing.
Really? Heh heh, I wonder why.
Euan Mort one think is for sure they are the only survivors of their class.
Yeah, Nigel's the last surviving J50 while Thomas is the last of the E2s, or at least, so he thinks.
+Euan Mort He is the last E2.
Wow, Great work as always. This really was a fantastic way to end Nigel's character arc. Can't wait to see more.
The interaction between Thomas and Nigel in the beginning was outstanding. It's bernardi while since I felt so excited.
A very well written story with a great lesson in the end. Thomas looking down on his old job and forgetting how important it was was bound to cause friction between Nigel and himself. 13:09 well of course he's a true north western railway engine he's got a face! XD
I'm starting to like Nigel
David Reyz I could.... but it does not seem that will happen
David Reyz hmmmmm not sure.
Kanefan701 same
Kanefan701 Hi. You are doing really well with ghost train.
yes I am doing good with it.
Nigel's basis was the original model for Thomas .
yup i the j50's had a lot in common with the E2's like being an exinct class
Fantastic Episode, love it, Nigel fits so well into sodor! Maybe you could do a story about Jamie the New Build J50 😉
This was literally fantastic. hats off
Always a joy to see old Nigel!
Lovely stuff, my friend! And well done to dcg12b for such a fantastic story!
I could see that Nigel had a point. Not all tank engines want to see the world unlike Thomas.
Excellent work, my friend! :)
Uh no Thomas shouldn’t be apologizing to Nigel, Nigel should be apologizing to Thomas.
What a fantastic ending to Nigel's big story. I was surprised to see him and Thomas come to blows about who they are and what they are proud to be. Thomas's trick was quite surprising and I didn't expect that much of a punishment for his actions after what happened to Nigel.

I wish I had a wooden Nigel. I just love side and saddle tanks. Especially the smaller ones.
one of your best remakes with Thomas.
Brilliantly done Mate, loved every second of the story. Really love how the story builds up. Probably my favourite story out of the entire volume! Makes sense as to how Thomas would at some point return to his post at being station pilot! Really liked that bit :D Nice Job once again Mate, keep it up.

Is it just me staring at my laptop screen for too long or does the screen keep on going wierd. I love the scene where Thomas and Nigel first meet. Thomas didnt see that one coming! LOL :D
Great job on the story.
Any ideas when The next Ghosts Stories come out?
Just Wondering
Is That Breakdown Train Theme Playing
“Should’ve just slapped some sloped tanks on duck and let him take it away” 💀💀💀💀☠️☠️☠️☠️
a job well done indeed. I knew that the next story would involve him and Thomas
A very fine piece of work, amigo!
Amazing! This is something I don't think has even been touched on by the Reverend himself; Thomas remembering his days as a station pilot. the j87 is named Jeff you can find him on sodorworkshops
ShunterProductions Ah. Thanks.
Russell Streak Well, technically, the Fat Director and the Fat Controller are the same person since when the railway become the rail network that it is since the events of the first Railway Series books, he became the official head of the railway. god, I love this series
This reminds me of Thomas And Stanley
narrator: Thomas had a rather naughty idea
me: uhoh! my boy Thomas is up to something
My name’s sake is a scouser! Love it! 😆
NIGEL... IS... TERRY...
if you dont know who Terry is watch Jimmy the Jinty series the narrator of this episode narrates that series
Railways Of The United Kingdom dcgb12
Thomas is probably Fred tbh
I wish Nigel was an actual character from the RWS books or the tv series.
Christopher Bouchard Fair do's. To me they're not the most obvious of flaws, but I do see your point Christopher.
I love the irony of Nigel (an LNER engine) mentioning Gresley several times.
So Now Nigel And Thomas Are Friends
Thomas use to be a j50 before he became a E2
Is That The Rescue Theme Playing When Nigel Passes Elsbridge
Omg Nigel looks like the oldest Thomas wooden railway model.
this is the last time we will see nigel
no, he will be making more appearances :)
It wouldn't be fair to end with Nigel being bullied by an already famous character , Nigel is a good replacement .

However I am happy to listen to any ideas for Nigel
Nigel will be making an appearance in the upcoming Sudrian Railway ghosts
LNER J50? Funny, Wilbert Awdry’s original Thomas toy was based on that class.
He's an LNER J50; Toby is a J70.
OH MY GOD HOW DID I NOT NOTICE THAT TYPO?
Do u think Sir Topham Hat is being to hard on his locomotives?
he needs to be hard on them from time to time
Trudy Sturino Well, he has to be since he's also a taskmaster in addition to being the head of the railway and a father figure to his engines. What the engines are going through are virtually the same life lessons we humans are going through in our daily lives and if they had some sort of triumph, then the Fat Controller will be pleased.

Nice job mate👍
at 10:19 you can hear thomas' whistle even though he is clearly not there
It's ironic that Thomas interacted with a LNER J50 (in this case, Nigel), especially given how much attention Awdry's original vision for Thomas has gotten lately.
Nigel as a j50 is cool and a Great story line
who started the argument at 2:46? Was it Thomas or was it Nigel?
Thomas because he questions Nigel as if not going on an adventure was an evil thing . I have lost respect for him and would favor Nigel as replacement for the TV series main character . Also
AceofTrains0706 R&G hates me for no reason and is a cyberbully .
But they made up. And now they're friends. And Thomas learned his lesson
But AceofTrains0706 R&G hasn't
The Irish Express You know, I never thought of that. Maybe Thomas started that whole debacle when he started to brag about wanting to see the world over the role of a shunter and his proud upheaval of his primary role as a branch line engine probably got under Nigel's metal skin and set him off.

Thomas was in the right
great job New sub and keep up the good work :)
Thomas is a LBSC E2 class tank engine but all the e2 class tank engine is scrap by now and only 1 e2 left.
Nice job m8
10:18 Is that Henry the Green Engine behind James? But he's a Black 5...
yes thats Henry and he is behind James. He and Henry were there briefly even though they aren't LNER engines
Well, Henry was between Gordon's build as well as Alice's build remember, so you could say he was half LNER, GNR and half LMS.
Oooookay, then what about James? The L&YR joined up with LMS. And there's also the GWR's Duck...
Hmm... Well, the LNER, GWR, LMS and the LBSC were all rivals, but sometimes, they come to one of their rivals galas to support them and make new friends, that's what they do on the North Western.
Euan Mort Rivals? They worked in different regions all of them,
Where can I find this version of Annie and Clarabel?
thomas is 100 years old yet acts like hes 7
I just remembered how Toby is a LNER engine in the books if no one knows Toby had letters on his side plates that said LNER
good work
Where website do you get Nigel ?
Nigel isnt on any website he is a private model and won't be given to anyone
ShunterProductions oh why is that ? Is it privacy website ?
ShunterProductions because he looks amazing up J50 Class model . And you're also doing a good job on the episode
+Jian Laws (lil-Catty) no it was a model made especially for my series
I'm guessing Nigel was never refitted with larger bearings on his center axle like the rest of his class.
Was That The Breakdown Train Theme Playing When Nigel Isn't Feeling Well
And Henry's Sad Theme When He Stops
Yes it was
Who is the black Tank Engine next to Alice?
WHY does the video flash like it does???
it's the video editing software. It gets a bit jumpy
+ShunterProductions i have a question
+Aaron Brady yes?
+ShunterProductions do you like the new Thomas movie
+Aaron Brady I haven't seen it yet
Yes, this has turn out to be a really good ending to a really thought out character!!!
One: Why did Nigel break down?
Two: Wasn't Nigel going the wrong way to the works?
This is good
In thomas defense Nigel did not need to snapped at thomas like that
thomas was a j50 before till they changed him a e2
What does Nigel mean as in you forgot where you come from ?
Thomas used to be a simple Shunter. He did jobs in the yard and acted as a station pilot, fetching coaches for the bigger engines. Then he rescued James after his brake blocks caught fire, and was rewarded with his own branch line and bigger jobs.
That's why The Fat Controller bought Percy. To act as a new Shunter.
why did sir toppham hat think Nigel a J50 to pull a 6 coach train and their Express coaches
explain?
I honestly didn't like it because of how much of a jerk Nigel was to Thomas in the beginning.
I like Nigel look
steler work m8

YOUR ALIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D
What accent does Nigel have?
either a liverpool or yorkshire accent i presume
Thank you.
I feel sorry for thomas
i kinda hate thomas but at the same time i feel a bit bad for him
This was very nice, but I have one problem.
Benton Reviews and whats that?
Is that I feel like Nigel didn't really get any sort of telling off, outside of Thomas' stunt. Personally, I think that the controller should've told him that sometimes engines go a different way and not let personal feelings get to you and spout insults, for it may hit you hard.
👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
It’s a shame you didn’t use Spencer but it wouldn’t really make sense to have him here cause he doesn’t contribute to the plot
WHO DOES THIS NIGEL CHARACTER THINK HE IS, HE HAS MAD ANGER ISSUES LOL
Ah, I see another character that makes Thomas look like a jealous, pretentious brat.
Why can't Nigel pull trains?
His axle boxes start to hurt. He is meant to be a station shunter not meant for long distances
I really dont like Nigel that much he too sensitive, but thats just my opinion.
Why didn't he pull normal Branchline red or orange coaches it would have been easier
Deuce Norwood branch line coaches probably wouldn't have been suitable for the occasion
ShunterProductions your right especially if Gordon was pulling the train home to knapford
We wanted to make the story a little more three dimensional from Thomas's tv series persona of being the nice guy all the time
ShunterProductions I guess, but that habit of jumping to conclusions and running his mouth is gonna get Nigel in trouble one day.
Where did you get the model of Nigel?!
Olga Mcwilliams Nigel is a character made especially for my series. he is a private model

Oh dear! That was not too good.

Nice job mate👍
Nice job m8
