The self checkout they are referring to is the amazon powered stores...

BTW - the Disney AP does the day planning. (Thats what Genie is, Genie + is the skip the line.)
Both Disney and Universal have interactive games on their apps. Disney is Trivia that opens only when you are in a particular que. Universal has the interaction with Minion Blast - that is awesome!

Finally got an answer to one of my biggest curiosities at KI 😅
I always wondered, not about the tunnel, but why the last dip was removed.
    Thanks for the insight!
I'm fine if the tunnels stay, but I'd definitely would've liked that last dip be returned since we can adequately stop the trains not having skids anymore and having retracked so much... But now it's too late lol

Hi Don and Ryan! Loved the video! I wanted to comment on the listener question at the end of the video, I believe the walls are still there because even with the new brakes, trains can still slide through them when wet. Working at The Racer, I have personally seen this happen but it's no where near going through the station again. The Beast's brakes are still exposed because of the longer brake run and magnetic brakes used, along with the lower speed of the train.

Good episode I’m all for technology making the park experience better. Also I never knew that about Racer thanks for sharing!

The only time i ever got an onride photo was as a fridge magnet with a novelty frame. I don't see the value of getting a bunch of digital photos, oh boy look it's me screaming. But a tacky silly customized souvenir that i buy right after the ride? I want more of that.
I hope the display screens don't go away and only send direct to phones. Looking at the photos after a ride is an extremely popular extra part of the ride, and that fleeting moment is all most people really want.

Basically six flags is saying they want to catch up w/ the rest of the industry.
The "AI" mentioned was replacing customer service with AI answering questions rather than people. And scanning your license plate to charge for parking... Thats it.
Others - love the idea of mimicking Magic Bands! I loved that at Disney...
Nothing else particularly news worthy here.
BTW - the photo plus doesn't work at Disney. They grab you based off your Magic Band. But 75% are the wrong people.

Maybe I'm just a lone voice in the wilderness here, but I'm not at all looking forward to this merger. I've just seen it as a bad thing since it was announced. I guess maybe I'm coming from a perspective that many are not. I remember what happened to my home park when Six flags took it over. Six Flags took over Kentucky Kingdom, and at first everything looked great, we all though oh wow... the park's going to grow now, it'll be great. Sadly, that's NOT what happened. They started sending our coasters to other six flags parks, and then the next thing you knew, they abandoned the park and we had nothing. Not to mention, Cedar fair has always been the superior park chain in my opinion. Six flags has always been looked at as the discount chain. They're known for shabby looking parks and bad operations. Sure, they've got a couple nicer parks... Fiesta Texas, Magic Mountain, Great adventure... but beyond that... not so much. Just a personal opinion. I had hoped that maybe Cedar Fair would be taking the leadership role and maybe bringing some of the lesser parks up to par. But, considering the company is taking on the Six Flag name, I kinda fear it's going to go the other way, and the Cedar Fair parks are just going to end up suffering.

The one thing that I REALLY hope that the cedar fair parks adopt that six flags does is the way that six flags does their ADA pass. The blatant abuse of the system at the CF parks is absolutely ridiculous. The people that REALLY need to use it, are getting screwed by people who abuse the system. This weekend, the ADA line for TT2 was so long at one point it went all the way back to the entry portal from the exit ramp! The CF people obviously do not care at all, and its ridiculous. Ever since 2020, people have been abusing the system at the CF parks. Making the people have their doctor get them the pass would cut those lines back to maybe there being 1 or 2 (max) people ahead of you. Im sorry, but its really showing when you have been getting constant complaints from people who cant walk. Also, the VIP lounge at some SF parks have massage chairs! The ADA system needs to be changed at CF parks. Show your guests that you ACTUALLY do care about them, and fix it!

So what about rides that you are not allowed to bring phones or other stuff on (TT2).
How will it know you are on it?
What if my phone is in a locker and I ride several near by coasters with FunPix and no phone on me.
How will they know what I am riding

Eh. Usually go for a week in July at camp cedar so I am at the park the whole week. This whole customized experience is a bunch of bs. Just have more water slides open in the middle of the week.

Overall this just seems like typical techbro technology, either taking existing tech and pretending it's new, or just doing something new for the sake of doing something new.
Someone sold an exec on an AI tech package, all the backend engineers rolled their eyes, and they tried to implement it as good as possible. I have no confidence in this making any real changes.

lest we forget, it wouldn't be the first time Six Flags said they were doing something that never happened.

Has absolutely nothing to do with that. Though KI needs more dark rides!
