I love Shoebills they are really friendly as long as you show them respect, just like any other animal, or human. They will actually let you record them, or touch their eggs, but don’t push it because nobody likes their babies to be touched and manhandled. Because of their friendliness they are actually endangered because of humans. There is actually a Shoebill Stork named Sushi who tourists go to visit all the time in the Uganda Wildlife Conservation Education Centere (UWEC). Sushi is the oldest Shoebill at the zoo at 30 years old, and is known for greeting visitors with a cow like moo, and high pitched whines. Sushi is also known for chattering his beak to communicate. These “modern dinosaurs” are near extinction, with numbers as low as 3500-5000 left, so please everyone share the love so we don’t lose these magnificent creatures! ❤❤
