My bestie has hers in her bedroom and it's her alarm clock. It literally starts making coffee every morning at a certain time. And she adds cinnamon to the grounds. Smells delightful.
I was just thinking the same thing. The woman is still stunning. Her eyes still sparkle and the way she speaks is so engaging and lovely. Her beauty transcends age. It's timeless..
The perfect way to describe her. I just re-watched Parenthood and it was as incredible as it was the first time around and she brought so much to that role. I am stating Gilmore Girls next. I just realized every time I have typed Gilmore Girls autocorrect keeps changing the spelling. LOL I just love your description of her it is perfect. ❤
I was trying to find the words to say the same thing. I really loved this interview. I love Lauren’s advice and story, it really was like a warm hug. Very genuine conversation and such healthy perspectives… you know she is not just saying because it sounds good, she means it. Great job as always Alex!
Totally! I first watched Gilmore girls when I was in college. I watched the whole show again (and then Gilmore Girls: A Year In the Life) when my boys were pre-teens and they loved it. We just watched it again from beginning to end last year (they were 16 & 14) and we loved every second of it. It is definitely a bonding experience and so many things happen on the show that they can relate to, so I used those opportunities to talk to them about those situations (as teaching moments.) I definitely recommend watching the show with your kids, when you have them. Also, if you and/or your kids have ADHD, they will relate to Lorelai. She definitely has ADHD lol
@brandeerodriguez8536me me me me I restart it every fall, sometimes I restart it in the spring too so it’s just never ending. Such a comfort show. Loved to have it on the background while I was studying in college.
I never saw the ending of the revival as a cliff hanger. I always saw it as the story coming to a full circle. The fact Amy wanted those final words in the original series finale solidifies that theory, personally.
“I know what I want, and I’m grateful for what I have. And it’s fun to plan for what’s next.” As someone who just turned 40 this was exactly what I needed! ❤
I love Lorelei. There's something magical about the first season of Gilmore girls. It's such a sweet innocent show in a not so innocent yet realistic way if that makes sense. It's just great.
The fact that actors don't earn any residuals when old shows are on Netflix is CRAZY!!!! Like the actors of friends for exemple when it was still airing on tv gain coins every month as a residuals. Every new person that are watching Gilmore Girls or rewatch it. Netflix is making a lot of money but the actors or directors or writers NADA
I’m currently rewatching it for the third time. I still cry like the first time I watched. Every time ive watched I identify with a different character and I love that about that show so much. It’s so amazing. I’ve never fully seen Gilmore girls but the few episodes I saw are amazing.
She has a special place in my heart. I had my first baby, unplanned and with no village around because I was in the military. I used to watch Gilmore girls every time I was up to pump and do night time feeds because it made me feel like I was back home in New England (I’m from Vt but stars hollow is similar enough to my home town 😂), and made me feel a lot less alone being a mom figuring things out. Love her❤
Her role in Gilmore Girls had a huge influence on me when I was growing up. She was the woman I aspired to be, but I didn’t have anyone like that around me. Thank you, Lauren - you continue to be an everyday inspiration.
I so feel at peace when Lauren is speaking... so at peace😊 she is the mom I never had. She was my north star for advice. Lorelai, was such a voice of reason and the calm to my storm. Thanks to the writers Palladino. ❤
The "I didn't have a timeline" bit was so great for me to hear. I always feel like an outsider when I think about myself not having a timeline for marriage, or children, or even having those things be up for debate instead of a definite yes or no. Also, I am so much in the place of meeting my friends where they're at right now, being single and having many friends who are married or in long term relationships, or have small children. So nice to continue to find comfort and relatability in Lauren. Thank you!
Gilmore girls is one of the shows that taught me to speak and understand english on another level. I grew up in Sweden and I would hurry home from school to finish my home work to be able to watch Gilmore girls on TV:)) Now I'm 35 years old and I've lived all over the world, To this day it's my comfort show, I love to watch some episodes in the evenings from time to time when I want to unwind, the show is like a big hug. Writing this comment also made me realize how far I've come from learning english through tv series in my childhood bedroom to actually living & working in some of the biggest cities in the world. It's been a hustle, many ups and downs in life but my inner child is proud:))
11:54 - my dad LOVED this show. I was the same age as Rory's character, and when I left for university, he'd continue to watch it without me (maybe to get insight into my experience), and when i'd visit for holidays, he'd INSIST that we had watched certain episode already (i.e. together), when he had really just been watching them on his own. lol.
I SCREAMED when I saw Lauren Graham was being interviewed, Gilmore Girls is my go-to feel good show. Whenever I'm down or bored I'll throw it on. I've rewatched the series including the reboot, countless times. I love it so much!
I was rewatching Gilmore girls for like the 10th time and my boyfriend was seeing it in and out and then he sat down and was like “woah babe, this is actually really good” it was so cute
It became "our thing" - watching GG with my ex boyfriend... After the breakup it to a while to get it back and have GG to myself again and not feel sad about it
We named our first daughter Lorelei. We didn’t know about Gilmore girls at the time, and everyone brings it up when they learn our daughter’s name. I need to watch now!
LAUREN GRHAM you are seriously one of the MOST stunning women I have ever laid my eyes on! She's also such a hard worker you can tell shes always been dedicated to THE WORK and it paid off! a timeless modern television legend! Her beauty and aura on screen is EVERYTHING!
I’m sure thee Lauren Graham knows this but I hope she knows how iconic Lorelei is and how much we all grew up and till this day love Gilmore Girls ugh just the best fall good vibes show ever
I think around the halftime mark, the conversation went beyond the usual media interview and became something really genuine between both Alex and Lauren. Appreciated the discussion about the experience of being a successful woman and what that means in the context of romantic relationships, friendships, career, and aging.
I'm so old I remember watching her on Caroline in the city. She wasn't on there for long and her character was super annoying. But she just stood out and stayed in my memory for ages. Than years later I loved her on Gilmore Girls and than Parenthood ❤
My mom watched Gilmore Girls when I was a kid and I hated it because I wanted to watch cartoons. Now I’m an adult watching it every autumn to feel more connected to my mom. I’ll call her and have her play the same episode from across the world. This show brings us all together ❤
Definitely one of my favorite episodes yet!! She’s so authentic and I loved the bouncing off of each other when talking about being a woman, societal expectations, aging, and enjoying your life/ appreciating where you are right now!🫶🏻✨
When GG aired originally, I was a widowed mom with a teenage daughter. We were actually like the Gilmore Girls. I know a lot of people say that, but I was a single mom raising a teenage daughter who was a bookworm and kept books in her dresser drawers. She went to college for English Lit and now she is a master librarian for an entire city.
I watched this show when it first aired way back in the day. I truly believe that seeing a single mother like Lorelei raised a generation of single independent moms. Like many of my peers I married young and had kids because that’s what we were supposed to do, but show like Gilmore Girls showed us that it was not to late to change that and to have identities of our own - where we loved and adored our kids but also had thriving careers and personal lives - and was given permission to do that outside the boundaries of traditional marriages.
*loud gasping sound* 😱!!! I freaking LOVE Lauren Graham 😍 I think she's awesome, witty, smart, savvy and adorable. I grew up watching her on Gilmore Girls. Shout out to Lorelai, woot! Woot! Good vibes all around. Way to go Alex. You're getting some amazing guests back to back girl 👏 ❤
I rememeber being in my early 20's when the Gilmore Girls came out. It definitely has a healing warmth to it and safe feeling. Watched it through 3 x now. I feel like its an escape from this world. Like who wouldn't want to live in Stars Hollow with rich parents that could bail you out if you really got desperate. All the warmth of the community really caring about each other. It's a vibe. Everyone wants to live there. We've become quite disconnected from community in the western world.
Alex would literally be me if I were ever in the presence of THE Lauren Graham herself. Oh my god, I can’t get over this interview! I’ve been a fan of Lauren for more than a decade at this point, and Gilmore Girls is my all-time favorite show. I’ve watched it countless times and truly consider myself one of the biggest fans. This was such a treat to watch, by the way! I now consider this Lauren’s best interview to date, as well as my personal favorite. It’s got everything, so thank you for getting her on your podcast and talking to her about more than what she’s known for the most. She’s always been an absolute delight, and I could listen to her talk forever simply because of how charismatic, articulate, and energetic she is, with a perfect balance of wit and charm. Despite all of her success, she remains wonderfully humble, which makes her even more captivating. I’ve always said she needs her own podcast someday, especially since we already got her narrating her very own audiobook (which, of course, feels like something Lorelai would do herself). She really is her character in real life, and I’ve always loved how perfect the casting was because even their initials (L.G.) are the same! It’s one of those written-in-the-stars, fate, or destiny things, which genuinely makes it all the more special, so it truly was like a dream come true for both her and us. I remember her saying once that this was the role of a lifetime, and if she ever were to get a role someday, she would want it to be something exactly like this. So, she basically did the damn thing, getting what she wanted early on in her career, which is a rarity, and I can’t stress enough how deserving she is of it 😭❤️
Oh, and I just remembered to say that I feel the exact same way about Alexis Bledel, who was not in this interview. But everything I said, it also applies to the lovely Alexis. (Not everything lol there are some different stuff because of the different stuff they did in their careers, of course, but still… Alexis and Lauren are among my favorite actresses/celebrities, whom I deeply adore and look up to! 🥰)
I really appreciate Lauren countering with “I don’t think it just affects women.” Although us women are 100% treated differently because we’re women, it doesn’t mean we should get into the toxic victim mentality. We have to look at situations from every angle. She handled those kind of questions with grace.
All the 2000's I loved watching the show, I was so invested. The "sad part" was that I never got the chance to discuss this show with anyone (I guess being a guy plus being in Mexico). As I was starting a relationship in 2016, I was very happy to watch the netflix season with this girl, it felt pretty cool. Just this past September/October I watched the whole tv show with the same girl, which I call wife now and I can honestly tell you that I feel so blessed/happy to have someone as cool as her and the fact that she also likes Gilmore Girls is just a thing so perfect because I finally have someone to share this show plus with the coolest girl ever. I love my girl and I love GG :)
THANK YOU for doing this! You have no idea how much I appreciate it! Gilmore girls is my comfort show. I still have it on in the background every night when I go to bed 🥹🤣
Gilmore gril is my all time favorite drama series, that I can't cancel Netflix subscription....whenever i need to feel LOVE, I watch Gilmore girls. Period.
Lauren is my fav!!! I’ve been watching Gilmore girls for over 20 years now! Since I was a kid and it was playing on tv and now as a grown ass adult. It’s my fav show ever and never get tired of it ❤
Gilmore Girls is the only Show my daughter and I Both enjoy to watch together because I myself am a single mother since I am 18 and my daughter is so happy to see a show that is similar to our family system ❤
Damn it Lauren!! Now I have to go back and watch Gilmore Girls for the 40th time in my lifetime! 🙄It's weird, I never get bored of watching it though. 😘
I still maintain that I want to live in Stars Hollow. It"s like a big hug with safe people and everything you need in one walk around. Would love to see another sequel explaining the relationship between Emily and her own mother, to clarify where the feelings of frustration come in between Emily and Lorelei.
I have watched Gilmore girls since I was a child. I have loved it for so long and she’s so right I loved it as a kid for different reasons and didn’t get jokes then but get them now as I’m older. I have rewatched it so many times and at LEAST watch it twice a year. It’s such a comfort show for me.
Honestly this warmed my heart. As a mum who’s first born I had as a teenager. I had no friends at the time and binge watched. This was my safety blanket, my comfort. This show got me through so much I LOVE her!! ❤
I was curious how many times I’ve rewatched GG so I downloaded my Netflix viewing history spreadsheet and did some analytics. I’ve had this Netflix account for like 3/4 years I wanna say. 157 times and I know it’s probably double that at least that prior to this account 😅. I clean to it, I sleep to it, it is my comfort show. Lorelei and Rory’s relationship reminds me so much of my own with my mother who had me as a teen and holds a special place in my heart. Loved this sit down and loved the way it was interview like at start and seamlessly flowed into some insightful conversation about being a woman and career, love, relationships, etc. ❤
The coffee machine by the bedrooms is so Lorelei Gilmore coded
She is and will always be Lorelai Gilmore.
And yet all they both drank during the show was coca cola because back then, they did not like the taste of coffee. So much for „it‘s so Lorelei“.
My bestie has hers in her bedroom and it's her alarm clock. It literally starts making coffee every morning at a certain time. And she adds cinnamon to the grounds. Smells delightful.
🥹💚
@latteslettersandlifeonly Alexis bledel did that…
The queen herself?!? This woman raised me.
she raised me and my childhood forever I love lauren graham ❤
This woman raised my children 😢
Hello Sister!! Hahahaha
I have to say the *topluxz* bags are still pretty darn cute. I will buy that! Very satisfied with the price!
And me
LAUREN GRAHAM saying she never turned heads is absolute insanity. the most beautiful person i’ve seen 🫶
I was just thinking the same thing. The woman is still stunning. Her eyes still sparkle and the way she speaks is so engaging and lovely. Her beauty transcends age. It's timeless..
And doesn’t look close to her age. She looks AMAZING 😻
lauren graham is just a warm hug. I love her and her gentle kind spirit. such a great conversation

Very genuine conversation and such healthy perspectives… you know she is not just saying because it sounds good, she means it. Great job as always Alex!
you described it perfectly
200% 🎯🎯🎯💗💗 I love Lorelai like a good friend who I miss and have to visit by watching. She’s the magic ingredient of Gilmore Girls!
exactly
We need Alexis Bledel on this show next- and Paris!
omg yessss!
Liza Weil

Seriously. I've never loved someone who annoys me as much as I do Paris. 😂
YES PLEASE
My future children will grow up watching Gilmore Girls
Totally! I first watched Gilmore girls when I was in college. I watched the whole show again (and then Gilmore Girls: A Year In the Life) when my boys were pre-teens and they loved it. We just watched it again from beginning to end last year (they were 16 & 14) and we loved every second of it. Ive rewatched on a loop for at least the last 4 years
@brandeerodriguez8536me me me me I restart it every fall, sometimes I restart it in the spring too so it’s just never ending. Such a comfort show. Loved to have it on the background while I was studying in college.
Same! :D
i stopped counting around 14 lmao its literally my life
I never saw the ending of the revival as a cliff hanger. I always saw it as the story coming to a full circle.
The fact Amy wanted those final words in the original series finale solidifies that theory, personally.
And I always thought it was Logan. He was Rory’s Christopher.
Jess is her Luke
@jongychongaexcept technically Jess is her relative now
@intentionalbeauty omg I never thought about this!
Is there more to come???….
“I know what I want, and I’m grateful for what I have. And it’s fun to plan for what’s next.” As someone who just turned 40 this was exactly what I needed! ❤
The bonus Mom of all of us. She feels like such a safe space, and we all feel it.
Lauren is aging so beautifully AND carries herself so well, my goodness.
I love Lorelei. There's something magical about the first season of Gilmore girls. It's such a sweet innocent show in a not so innocent yet realistic way if that makes sense. It's just great.
Same! The first season is my favorite! 😊
This is my first time listening to call her daddy. Gilmore girls is truly such a happy place
The fact that actors don't earn any residuals when old shows are on Netflix is CRAZY!!!! Like the actors of friends for exemple when it was still airing on tv gain coins every month as a residuals. Every new person that are watching Gilmore Girls or rewatch it. Netflix is making a lot of money but the actors or directors or writers NADA
parrenthood doesn't get enough credit!! I rewatch it all of the time its so cozy to me
I loved it the first watch through but never watched it again- I should go back and check it out again!
@Raddiebaddie omg yes!!! especially around fall and holidays
Yes! I agree! I just started rewatching it last week and forgot how great it is!
I’m currently rewatching it for the third time. I still cry like the first time I watched. Every time ive watched I identify with a different character and I love that about that show so much. It’s so amazing. I’ve never fully seen Gilmore girls but the few episodes I saw are amazing.
I want to be a Braverman more than a Gilmore.
I LOVE HER SO MUCH EVERYBODY STOP
NO YOU STAHP!!!
@wompwomp301 HEHEHE IM SO HAPPY i'm like so giddy watching it
I can hear you saying this and I don’t even know you or what you sound like 🤣
Tell me why I instantly thought this was an April fools joke BECAUSE, our queen??!! Literally dropped everything to watch 😊😊😂
Never clicked so fast. Everyone’s favorite tv show character / mom ❤ the woman that you are Lorelei Gilmore😍😍😍
🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
She has a special place in my heart. I had my first baby, unplanned and with no village around because I was in the military. I used to watch Gilmore girls every time I was up to pump and do night time feeds because it made me feel like I was back home in New England (I’m from Vt but stars hollow is similar enough to my home town 😂), and made me feel a lot less alone being a mom figuring things out.
Love her❤
i NEED lauren graham to know that i love parenthood just as much as gilmore girls and it is TOTALLY a rewatch show!
Her role in Gilmore Girls had a huge influence on me when I was growing up. She was the woman I aspired to be, but I didn’t have anyone like that around me. Thank you, Lauren - you continue to be an everyday inspiration.
I am 40 grew up on Gilmore girls and now my daughter is obsessed. We sit back and binge watch over and over and over it never gets old.
Thank you!
Her not being a “beauty” makes me wanna cry. She’s always been a smoke show
1:56 “what’s the least LA thing about you?” i really thought lauren replied “i don’t do coke” lol
same. i went back 3 times to understand if that’s what she said
Yoga
The choking in her laugh I fully thought she said “i can’t do coke” HELP 😭😭
same! 😅
SAME hahaha
Lol I thought I heard the same thing! 😂
HAHAH SAME i swear i had to replay it like twice😂
I'm glad I'm not the only one who heard it 😂😂.
ELLEN POMPEO AND THEN LAUREN GRAHAM?? GREYS AND GILMORES MY TWO FAVOURITESSS SCREAMINGGG
Gilmore girls is one of the shows that taught me to speak and understand english on another level. I grew up in Sweden and I would hurry home from school to finish my home work to be able to watch Gilmore girls on TV:))

love that she thinks before she speaks & even while speaking. she’s so wise, this was so good.

GG is endlessly rewatchable, love it so much! And Lauren is incredibly down to earth, real and heartwarming.
Her voice is so familiar and comforting :)
I SCREAMED when I saw Lauren Graham was being interviewed, Gilmore Girls is my go-to feel good show. Whenever I'm down or bored I'll throw it on. I've rewatched the series including the reboot, countless times. I love it so much!
putting the coffee machine on the bedroom level is such a lorelai thing to do
Since age 8, I still re-watch Gilmore Girls every two years or so. I’m 30 now ❤😅
lauren graham has the warmest energy ever I love her
She’s my most parasocial relationship. Love her ❤
I was rewatching Gilmore girls for like the 10th time and my boyfriend was seeing it in and out and then he sat down and was like “woah babe, this is actually really good” it was so cute
Major green flag
It became "our thing" - watching GG with my ex boyfriend... After the breakup it to a while to get it back and have GG to myself again and not feel sad about it
I got my blue collar boyfriend into Gilmore girls and now we’ve rewatched it so much we can quote it to each other it’s the best!
what is a blue collar boyfriend and how is it related to you watching the show together? :D
We named our first daughter Lorelei. We didn’t know about Gilmore girls at the time, and everyone brings it up when they learn our daughter’s name. I need to watch now!
😂😂 Oh no! I'm only saying that bc it must be annoying to keep saying "No I did not watch the show and we did not name her after that character".
You will not regret it!! It’s the best show!!!
@jclyntoledo quite literally every time lol
beautiful name!!
Oh please do watch 🙏🏻❤️
Lauren said "I'm not going to tell you which co-stars I dated, but it 100% was not Scott Patterson." 😂
Lauren made this so entertaining despite the interviewer
I watch parenthood during every sleep regression or sleepless nights with newborns. Literally one of my favorites! 30:51

Named my daughter Rory after Gilmore girls. My comfort show. I lovveeee herrr 🥺
My mom watched Gilmore Girls when I was a kid and I hated it because I wanted to watch cartoons. Now I’m an adult watching it every autumn to feel more connected to my mom. I’ll call her and have her play the same episode from across the world. This show brings us all together ❤
the "she did??" gets me every time hahaha
Definitely one of my favorite episodes yet!! She’s so authentic and I loved the bouncing off of each other when talking about being a woman, societal expectations, aging, and enjoying your life/ appreciating where you are right now!🫶🏻✨
Ive watched Gilmore Girls 2 times every year since i was 16 up until this year and im 31 now. such an amazing comfort show ❤
Ok… I’ll rewatch Gilmore Girls now
Favorite celebrity ever. Lauren Graham is iconic and Gilmore Girls is my comfort show forever 🩷🩷🩷
I’m obsessed. Gilmore Girls is my comfort watch to this day

Gilmore Girls has been my sincere lifeline for 10 years and my worlds are colliding😲
gilmore girls diehard fan here, my 16 year old sister also LOVES the show, i don’t think the love for the show will ever go away

I’ve watched it 3 times already this year and have been watching it my whole life ❤
I rewatch parenthood ALL THE TIME as well as gilmore girls
Soooooo wholesome
no freakin' way! Literally putting my life on pause to watch this.
Coffee with whipped cream is a Viennese tradition. It's called "Melange," and it's a must-try!
I really appreciate Lauren countering with “I don’t think it just affects women.” Although us women are 100% treated differently because we’re women, it doesn’t mean we should get into the toxic victim mentality.
It’s honestly one of the greatest shows ever
I always loved Lauren! She is a natural beautiful warm person. I loved Gilmore Girls so much and rewatched the series.
ugh fine, I'll watch gilmore girls again for the 5th time
5th?! I’m on my 1,216th time! 😂
THANK YOU for doing this! You have no idea how much I appreciate it! Gilmore girls is my comfort show. I still have it on in the background every night when I go to bed 🥹🤣
Sidenote, I actually got married on June 3… I didn’t realize why I liked that date till about two years after my wedding day 😦😅😅😅😅😅
Me too! Since 2007 I’ve watched it every night to sleep it’s like a podcast to me haha
@athenar-q6cthe June 3rd thing is epic
I went almost a whole year with Gilmore girls on repeat. Its truly my comfort show.
Gilmore gril is my all time favorite drama series, that I can't cancel Netflix subscription....whenever i need to feel LOVE, I watch Gilmore girls. Period.
she's so well spoken!
My therapist told me to put a mini coffee bar set up by my bed (3 tier rolling cart works perfect)
BEST adhd helper ever
Genuinely curious- what is that meant to accomplish for someone with adhd? Thanks
Alex, I NEED Kim catrall in here
I totally agree with you, Lorelei! Age is just a number. We are how we feel and how we think. The more I follow my heart, the less I hurt myself.
Lauren is my fav!!! I’ve been watching Gilmore girls for over 20 years now! Since I was a kid and it was playing on tv and now as a grown ass adult. It’s my fav show ever and never get tired of it ❤
I'm so glad she knows how important Parenthood is as well🥺
I have definitely rewatched parenthood a trillion times.
I’m 73, and love GG, I’m already planning my 3 rd rewatch this fall
Best TV mom ever! I’m such a fan! ❤❤❤
I still maintain that I want to live in Stars Hollow. It"s like a big hug with safe people and everything you need in one walk around. Would love to see another sequel explaining the relationship between Emily and her own mother, to clarify where the feelings of frustration come in between Emily and Lorelei.
All the guests have been amazingggggg lately! Can we please get Sarah Michelle Gellar on!
THE QUEEN HAS ENTERED!!!!!
Honestly this warmed my heart. As a mum who’s first born I had as a teenager. I had no friends at the time and binge watched. This was my safety blanket, my comfort. This show got me through so much I LOVE her!! ❤
I loved this , one of my fave go to shows gilmore girls.
I literally watch Gilmore Girls on repeat! Obsessed!!
