Once upon a time ESPN used to show ALL of these all day long ....just like MTV used to play nothing but Music Videos....those were good times.
Absolutely, we had it pretty good back then.
Speed Channel use to show a lot of oddball ones back in 90s as well. I saw the mud buggy stuff there first. Also remember watching motorcycle icetrack racing. So gnarly. :D
That might get me to start watching tv again.
right when i was a kid there was always baja races, monster trucks, dirt bikes, trophy trucks, buggies, tractor pulls all day. what the hell channel do you watch in 2021. besides you tube of course.

All of these probably only exist in Mississippi.
Nope The hill climb races could not happen in Mississippi, not enough hills.
As a resident of Mississippi stuck here against my will, it'd be alot cooler if they did.
@@xmodfreak2011 but seeing the Topography of some of the racing they could not have the two hill races in the state. other then that yeah the others probably exist in the state.
Formula hill climbs are an Iceland thing. Jetsprint is in New Zealand, west USA (CO, ID), and maybe Australia.
@@Zerububble Jet Sprint is also in the Soutwest too. Hill climbs they did the Formula ones in USA too just different rules from Europe done similar to Formula 1 and Indy car. and the Swamp racing is in the Bayou and other swamp parts of the USA. The only one that is in Mississippi is the Pig one for sure as I do think that few places in the USA do such events. The Dirt Drag Racing I think Originated in Iowa where they had the Dirt straight tracks for originators of Tractor drag racing and tractor pulls the two main styles.

The power boat sprints are great to watch but it amazes me how they know which route to take with no markers or anything. I'd be completely lost !

I remember growing up around my dad who always went rock crawling in our 75 ford bronco and my buddy’s dad built drag banshees for a living. Good times.
Used to live near Naples. We went to the swamp buggy races every year

we used to have a yearly lawnmower competition in my small village in France, sadly it was taken down before I could join, I would have loved to do this with my friends.
I once saw a swamp buggy race where a typical jeep entered - and won. As he cruised to victory (all the swamp buggies had broken down) all you could see of the jeep entrant was the driver, his passenger and his air intake/exhauset pipes.

Lawn mower racing seems like it would fun af. I live in the southern us, shouldn't be too hard to find a race around here.

The crew is going to the swamp buggy races this weekend. Woot woot.

My cousin races lawnmowers. He says it's quite fun. Occasionally they'll race on snowmobile courses, usually on frozen lakes, in the winter. There are also categories for small cars and dune buggies, if the ice is thick enough. Both drag and circuit racing. Sometimes the same groups will race other things, like ATVs and dirt bikes, but lawnmower racing is the big draw. Crowds love it.
(his lawnmower is in the 20 horsepower range, I think. Some are much more powerful, but those are virtually uncontrollable)
Here's a number 9 for your list, Ice Speedway, it's a motorsport that been running almost as long as regular Speedway on shale since the 1920's, but with ice… and massive spikes on the tyres.

V8-powered water jet speedboat racing is a New Zealand thing and I can see why. These guys used to go up rivers in the South Island of New Zealand as early as the gold mining I believe. You can hop in a touristy multiple passengers one (still V8 powered) pretty much anywhere like in Auckland but you really want to go to Queenstown for the real stuff and go up river in tumultuous waters with big rocks everywhere. It is great thrill.

We have lawn mower races and school bus races in Wisconsin.

swamp buggy racing is done by my aunt and uncle and right now im doing four wheeler mud racing, sort of the same but extremely smaller scale
Not as weird as you think. it was born of necessity people needed to get into the swamps to hunt they built buggies. guys well have motor will brag and. so it started I race in the jeep class and wouldn't want to race anywhere else. not only do you have the need to build a faster jeep but also water proofing to make it through. things like aqua dynamics come into play over aerodynamics. swamp buggy inc. was founded the same year as nascar it's a long standing tradition in Naples Florida

Those boast are badass tho!! They turn on a dime and only need 6-8 inches of water to float on. They run a "jet drive" which is a lot like a jet ski

Also the onboard footage the boat is powered by a 13b Mazda rotary motor not a v8😂

these dont go fast enough to do that. even if you tried your hardest you couldnt
mattjm500 the fords used can't even go fast enough to allow the tires to dig in and flip the car in any way as the speed wouldn't allow the cars inertia to actually.make the dirt push upwards and slow the car. if it was going fast enough anyways, the track is hard packed clay and the fords have an extremely low center of gravity so if you tried to, it's really hard yet it won't happen as they can't even get past 30 in the straights

When I was a kid I couldn't wait for that one time of year the wild world of sports would have swamp buggy races on. No such thing as weird in motor sports. If it's got wheels and a motor race it 🏁.
Hill climbs, tractor pulls, truck racing, caravan racing, rollover racecars, ice speedway, sidecar fx, Australian burnout championship, figure eight racing, demolition derby, wheelstand drag racing and dyno shootouts. The best ones I can think of if a part two ever gets made.

I remember when in the USA we still had the speed channel, probably one of the best channels on TV ever, they had all this type of racing, especially late night and on mainstream racing off seasons. Never really knew why they took that channel off TV, it was great.

I thought the same thing. It is just a race that combines desert racing and rock crawling.
The actual race is a lot more than just rock crawling it's like an incredibly fast Baja 500 type of thing

School bus racing one is from Charlotte Motor Speedway during the Summer Shootout. Main races are bandolero and legend cars, and each week they do something different in addition to those, like school bus races (usually with the drivers being school principals, pastors, firefighters, or police officers), as well as kart races, or power wheel races with 50 little kids jumping on power wheels and racing them around the 1/4 mile, really fun to watch :)
