I can remember those times. I was at highschool during that time. It was just when people were showing up with the 3th gen ipod touch. People were hyped about it. And then apple released the 4th gen. That was when i bought myself a ipod touch. And after all those years i still have it. And it still works fine. The fun part is that i never put it back to factory settings. So with the ipod i have all the apps still installed. Even with Spotify still working and playing music. Nice Video ! Greetings from the Netherlands
Dude I totally remember the days right when I started seeing them in 5th grade. My grandma gave me the 1st gen ipod shuffle for my birthday. After that I got the touch, it was crazy popular in my middle school.
it's not bad to have if you want to go for a jog or leave home without having to worry about phone calls and distracting text messages. Just be at peace and in the moment + any iPod touch 3rd gen and newer has camera + it's super light weight compared to any iPhones.
It was the first time we ever had 'console-quality' games on a small thing that wasn't a dedicated games console like a PSP. I mostly wanted one for the interface. I had a Nokia at the time that would bitchslap the iPhone when it came to capability but it didn't *feel* the same. I was in high school from 2005 to 2010, so we started with the conventional iPods and even the off-brand capsule-shaped MP3 Players. These came along and were about £50 more than the normal iPods but it was 'basically an iPhone', felt like the future and that was enough.
Wow, thanks for the insight here! My older brother used to have an iPod nano back in the day, but the iPod Touch was coolest piece of tech you could own back in the day.
Couldn't afford an iPhone, so I got an iPod 3rd generation with camera. Had that from 2011-2013 and finally got a phone after that year. I was really jealous of people who got the iPhone 5S cause Touch ID, but sadly I got a $30 android cause iPhones were still expensive for me. Still have the iPod to this day. Great device & wish I did take more pictures on it, but unlike you. I used a RUclips converter to get my music downloaded onto it & sometimes I'd even use the "voice recorder" and leave my iPod touch on the pc desk while I do something else & have music playing. Yeah, gotta love those times!
One big reason for me that the iPod was so huge is that back then iPhone was at&t only. Growing up we had sprint so this was the closest thing to having an iPhone.
I had an iPod touch 4g, which was an amazing piece of tech. Especially afrer jailbreaking :D But these devices were never very popular in Poland. To be honest, I knew just one person thet had iPod touch, and that was 2g unit.
Lovely video about fond childhood memories from when the one guy who had the iPod Touch truly was a proper madlad. Great content, I honestly expected you to have several thousand more subscribers than you actually have! Very underrated channel, keep up the great work man!!
I tried downloading an older version of iTunes, but my Mac rejected it lol. I'm sure I could jailbreak this iPod Touch, but I'm not too keen on messing with the OG software!
When I was a 13 years old I started selling weed just so I could buy an IPod touch

That's amazing! I wish I still had my apps before restoring this iPod!

That's really cool to hear! Yeah, it's hard to put into words how hype the iPod Touch was!
ive been tempted to buy an Ipod touch, Thanks for the review !!
That’s great to hear! What generation are you planning on picking up?

Appreciate that! Thanks for watching!
I still use iPod touch everyday. Thumbs up 👍👍😎
Love to see that you're still making use of old tech!

That's genius to use the voice recorder! Don't worry I picked up on the RUclips converter towards the end, it was so much better than LimeWire haha
You mean the 4th gen, the first one with a camera? I had one too, so many great memories
@@elctwenty1328 yeah my bad, 4th gen.

Oh wow, I forgot that Apple had an exclusive deal with ATT back in the day. It makes total sense why the iPod Touch was appealing.
I got my aunts iPod from middle school can I update it from 2.1 still?
I'm not sure. You need an older version of iTunes that can read the old firmware.

Wow, that's really interesting! I always thought the iPod was a global phenomenon.
Cool video thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching!
My dream was have a ipod touch, but here in Brasil was impossible, it's so expensive
Yeah, even in the United States they were really hard to get since they were so expensive
You can still get games and apps by jailbreaking and sideloading!
That's good to know!

Clean your camera
What if you try to Jailbreak the iPod to get acces to the App Store?

@@YashBhika not worth it. Could be worth money if you decide to clean it up & sell it one day on that older software.
