Yeah I've been there. I used to work in an adult group home. One time an old man kept punching on my hand bc I was trying to stop him from messing with the bulletin board. I finally got away from him and he was chasing me around the table. I almost had the reaction of wanting to kick him but I restrained myself and went to the basement and held the door shut and called my mgr to explain what's going on. Old man strength is no joke! And he looked frail to boot.
Omg I spent three days in a nursing home when I thought I wanted to be a nurse. It was part of a class to spend some hours at a nursing home and that made me realize this career is not for me. Firstly the nurses in the facility weren't being helpful, and they expected so much of us as students. I had to feed a patient who was hallucinating and it was a very sad screen to watch a very old person calling for their parents, and then telling me just feed him like how. Another student came and helped me I was very close to giving up. I would take day care any day over a nursing home

This is to address the “meth leaving the system”…yeah you won’t test positive for it after a certain time (from what I recall, it leaves the hair last). However, Meth usage has long term side effects and changes the brain chemistry permanently…leaving some prone to psychotic behavior….even after getting clean, particularly when exposed to stress. Meaning, it makes it difficult for the user to “adult” because a high stress incident can lead them into what is called meth psychosis….even after years of being clean. Signed someone who also has a sibling who is/was a meth head.
