    TIP: Run your dryer sheets for three or four loads then keep them in a stack. Use two of them as the filter on the back of that round plastic lint filter. Throw them away from the round filter after you are done with drying for that day. As many dyer sheets that you use, you will never have to pay for those filters again! You just have to get the softening chemical off the dryer sheets by using them for a couple extra loads which is key. I usually cut off each corner to mark when they have been used for a cycle. At the end of the day the ones only used once are kept for a future load. They sit inside the dryer until next time. The ones with all four corners snipped get placed in a bag labeled for filters. It’s on the cheap but helps in a crunch. You will still want to open the back of the dryer and clean the opening area where the dryer vent attaches to the dryer every so often. Lots of lint gets stuck in there with these portable type dryers. Really all dryers have to be cleaned liked that regardless. These are easier than having to move a large dryer out to clean the lint trap at the vent hose connection.

      You forget that she's using an indoor vent kit and shouldn't be using dryer sheets to begin with since the chemicals in them are toxic to breathe in once heated.

    I did so much research before choosing a dryer that could fit a standard outlet plug and I needed a dryer that was a little bigger in cubic feet than my Magic Chef 3.0 washer. My washer is amazing and works so well and the dryer I got is even better. I chose the SPLENDID 4.0 cubic ft vented dryer. It’s so simple and doesn’t put out much heat at all even on the highest heat setting. I use an indoor vent and rigid metal dryer duct and all metal connectors. Even in the summer there is no issues with the dryer heating up the apartment at all. The Splendide dryer is small but not as small as the onevin this video. It is also quiet and tumbled in both directions and I have not noticed a change in energy costs.

    12:22. Baby, you should never use dryer sheets if you're going to vent your clothes dryer indoors. From what I've read online from numerous other people is that the scent from the dryer sheets (once heated) turn toxic. It's okay to use dryer sheets if you're going to vent your dryer outside of a window but not indoors because you will breathe in the chemicals that are in it (I'm SURPRISED no-one else commented this). Instead, you should be using "dryer balls". there are different types on the market but "wool dryer balls" seem to be the most popular and receive the highest praise from my limited research. Does your washing machine have a "soak" option? The reason that I ask is if scent is that important to you, maybe you can let your clothes soak with the scent beads in the washer for a bit.

    • @reviewmylifenyc
      @reviewmylifenyc  3 года назад +12

      Oh wow! I will definitely put my vent in my window now! Thank you so much for letting me know and yes my washer has the soak option.

      Purchased the Panda PAN206ET from Amazon and it arrived yesterday, so far so good. I have a portable dryer that you hang the clothes inside using hangers, zip it up and turn it. It makes my apartment really warm, which was fine in winter, but decided to get a tumble dryer for the warmer months with the intention of venting it out the window. After researching (through RUclips 😊) I realized that I could vent indoors. I also heard about the dryer sheets, which was news to me. Scary news. So I also purchased dryer balls and the indoor vent system. Happily the dryer, dryer balls and the vent system all arrived yesterday and I was able to set everything up to use the dryer. 👏🏽 👏🏽 👏🏽 Because I was using the other drying method I added liquid fabric softer to my rinse cycle, which I have decided to keep doing. The dryer balls are supposed make your clothes fluffier and speed up drying time, so that’s nice. But I figure even without them, once you add the liquid fabric softener to your rinse cycle your clothes will dry with the nice scent. 😊

    • @socl6534
      @socl6534 3 года назад +5

      @@Connie-sx7nz Yea, I'm currently in "research mode" which is how I stumbled upon this video in the first place. I'm currently in the market to buy one as I already have a portable washer and a TON of laundry to do. The problem is that once a load of laundry is done, the clothes are clean but there is a LOT of lint left on the clothes when they are finished being line dried (which I don't like doing since that process takes too much time). You can see the lint when you shake out the clothes once dry (it gets in your hair, on your face and all over your body). I NEED a dryer at this point. I was actually looking at the "vent less" dryers on the market and they are GREAT (albeit more expensive than the "vented" options and take twice as long to dry the clothes). The ONLY reason that I'm not going through with buying a vent less dryer is because they are all so heavy and big. It's a "technicality" really. My room is at the end of my apartment, my long hallway is full of stuff (not mines) and I would need help to get it to my room (which I don't have), so I instead need a dryer that I can actually lift overhead myself (lighter than 100lbs with dimensions that are not so big that I can't grasp the thing). I made this mistake with the GE 2.8 cubic foot portable washer that I purchased thinking it was only 100lbs and I could easily lift it myself but the unit is so large in sheer size that you have no leverage when trying to lift it, so in other words, the weight AND size matter when transporting these machines. It's funny, because the 3.5 cu ft dryer linked in the description of this video is about 50lbs and even though it is larger in dimension than my portable washer I'm positive I can get it over head by myself and to my room to set it up. I MAY get an even smaller one though since I'm still looking at other brands (one being the one you referred to which is the Panda). I kinda think some of these different brands are manufactured in the same plant and just labeled a different name. For instance, take a look at the "COSTWAY Compact Laundry Dryer, 110V Electric Portable Clothes Dryer with Stainless Steel Tub, Control Panel Downside Easy Control for 4 Automatic Drying Mode" and the "Panda Portable Compact Laundry Dryer, 3.5 cu.ft, 13lbs Capacity, Black and White, PAN760SF". Except for the size difference, they're practically twins although they are 2 different brands. I didn't want to labor too long, but back to what you said, they make "non toxic fragrance free" dryer sheets but I'm really not sure if those are okay to vent indoors since I'm still in the "research" stage. Honestly, "some" people say that the dryer balls work better for static cling but the overall consensus seems to be that dryer sheets are better overall. The people who swear by dryer balls seem to be more on the "health conscious" side but the non toxic fragrance free dryer sheets may be a happy medium (again, don't really know if it's safe to vent them indoors but personally, I wouldn't do it). This is what they mean when they say that "The devil is in the details".

    Tip heavier clothes that need more dry time... set dryer to 200 and when it gets to like the cooler part of the timer.. wind it back to 200.. the timer is also like a variable heat control.
    So its like you have the button low high..
    Then the timer 30 min lower 90 min hotter... 200 hottest.. so if you want quicker drying keep that knob cranked up..
    Think of it like turning the knob up on your stove top for higher cook temperature..
    Really this dryer has sort of like a variable heat selector..
    So also letting it go all the way around to dry will take longer as the temperature steadily drops so hottest then cooler then cooler then cooler... but if you keep the temperature up by keep winding it up it will be hotter and dry quicker..
    So instead of taking 200 min to dry you may dry in like 90 min or something like that..
