What's next for Iowa at QB? Figure out how to run an offense that isn't so unfriendly to QB's, have Lester earn his money, and tell KF to get out of the play book. I would also recommend developing 1 of the multiple QB's they do have and stop pining for someone better because that QB is not coming to Iowa. Josh Allen would look incompetent in this passing game.
Due to how Kelvin Bell talks about Pittman, especially as a leader, I'll be really surprised if Pace starts over him. I'm not saying Pace won't play as much, if not more.
Anyone can be a garbage time QB, and for 6 figures, you had one of them already. Cade looked great at 10 yards out! At least cade took his team to a national title. But a waste of money at Iowa.
Catch 22. You cant recruit recievers without a QB and you cant recruit a QB without recievers. So far without our QBs to throw more than twenty plays a game, we cant get the top competition if you dont have someone to fill the rolls. Funny how that works, huh. Well I think if we are sucessful or not we, should try for at least 30 pass plays just to show that we are willing to try passing. I mean what QB worth his salt is willing to come in and play for under 20 pass plays a game. They arent here to just win over the lower league teams without showing out their talent. So with those things said we may have to wait until Tim Lester has time to develope some offencive players. Just a thought.
Completely agree Ross. Certainly would’ve liked a few guys at a couple positions, but I don’t view the portal as the flex that some programs/fans do. Iowa has lost basically zero players who were supposed to start next year via portal. Plus if Logan Jones and Hurkett were at any other school in the B1G, fans would be ecstatic. I still believe in culture and development. Outside of 1-2 schools per year, how do most teams who rely on the portal really do
This staff can't recruit the talent needed at the skill positions to compete. As long as Kirk is here forget about getting any decent qb or receivers to come here. Who in their right mind would want to come play for this outdated, boring, bland offense? Maybe someone that has no other options, but that's about it. KJ was the entire offense this year. Without him there is nothing. Next year is going to be ugly.

Hope we get Allen back healthy by the time the season kicks off. Guy has a lot of talent.
