May Her Majesty Rest in Peace! All the certainties of Her century vanished at her passing.

How can people possibly accuse the royal family of racism, when we are reminded of this Ghana visit. Similarly, the famous handshake with Pele. They helped to dissolve racial barriers.

Someone who was very close to Nkrumah told me Nkrumah and the King liked each other. A lot of the African radical leaders such as Mugabe also like the Queen. They claimed she was a nice person as distinct from the duties of the Crown.

…but She did have power. It’s called soft diplomacy. She was real, not a phony. She was a delight to the world and of course beloved to and of Her Citizenry/subjects. She never disappointed, and had a fantastic sense of humor….plus, She had a beautiful continuance and beauty. She wasn’t haughty or vain, she was comfortable in her own skin as they say. She adored the Commonwealth, and the cashé of being aliened with the UK and the Queen directly was major perk.

Soft power of Queen Elizabeth II + Money from the US, the Soviet did not stand a chance, not sure Charles would have the same influence when he destroys the relevance of the monarch every day.
