    Me, off the ice: Oh, this looks easy and I can do all the skills required to do it
    Me, as soon as I get on the ice: I will now spend the next one hour and thirty minutes developing a world-class Pairs program with my new best friend, The Wall

    Hi Coach,. Outside edges and no toe pick, just my style. Cat walk is cool, I'd call it a forward strut and I don't take my skates off the ice but I am also not a figure skater, Can't wait for Backward Cross Steps. Thanks to you and your crew for another great tutorial!

    These are so fun to do. I've sort of taught myself, easing up from the crossovers, but am at the stage where I need to focus on the rise and fall and the extension and swing of the leg to get it looking really good. (And keeping the heel engaged instead of the toe pick: I've also been experimenting with crossing over the leg behind instead of in front, which messes with inertia, and yesterday had a catastrophic toe pick incident which ended with a couple of impressive bruises on my knee and hip. 😂)

    After the pre bronze adult. The next moves have the forward stocking. I started practicing, but I really like the steps you gave us to practice to feel more confident. Thank you❤

    Great tutorial! Thought I had nice cross rolls, but actually I never had the push from the heel with the back leg. More to improve on!😆

    Thank you for the video. I really appreciate the key points you pointed out. I haven’t been doing cross steps during lesson for a while, but every now and then coach throws a curve ball and makes me do them. Next time, I’ll be ready. Hehe
    BTW, I had my first go at FO loop turns the other day and I’m totally lost…so yeah, I’d like to request a video on those. Please?

      Oh my, FO Loops are tricky! I will see what I can put together.

    Thank you for breaking down these moves into tiny pieces, and emphasizing line form and grace.
    When you do another video of unique moves, will you please teach how to do a cantilever?
    Thank you!

      Oh my, at Cantilever. I used to be quite good at those. I will see what I can do for you on that skill.

    I’ve been wanting to learn this since the iconic Yuzuru Hanyu Seimei performance at the Olympics!

    Maybe it would be helpful for search results if "cross rolls" was also in the title. I've always heard of this move with that name, so at first when I clicked I wasn't sure what "cross steps" were.

      Good suggestion!

    • @Assiolomaglia

      These aren't cross rolls, not at all. So "cross rolls" in the title would be wrong.

    • @ashuraalexis
      @ashuraalexis 7 месяцев назад +1

      @@Assiolomaglia sorry, but what would "cross rolls" be, then? Every coach here (some even on the elite level) refers tho these as "cross rolls."

    • @Assiolomaglia
      @Assiolomaglia 7 месяцев назад +1

      @@ashuraalexis Doing cross rolls, you have to cross on the ice. Here the foot is crossed over and only then put on the ice.

    • @ashuraalexis
      @ashuraalexis 7 месяцев назад

      @@Assiolomaglia I think it's a difference based on your area then, because I've always heard them called cross rolls in Japan, USA and UK

    a bit dangerous.. haven't got the crossover yet.. but I do have a good walk over. I have to save this for later :)

    I think cross steps are so cool looking. I always loose speed and now I realize it’s because not only am I not pushing through my heel on an outside edge, I’m now doing rise and fall. 😂

    Hey coach julia! Recently I brought a pair of edeas In a size 6 And they felt a bit too tight at the front So my skate shop told me to give them back and get a bigger size so I got 1/2 a size bigger so 6.5 And now my heel is slipping is there anything I can do to make my boot a bit smaller Because now I’ve worn them I can’t give them back?

      Try getting a heel-covering bunga pad! Mine slips a little too and this helps

      backward cross steps in some Seimei performances - don't seem to include what you have called "lounge position" with front leg lifted
