internal "side casing" reminds me of whats called a bridge plate ( iirc) in pocket watches. these mechanisms are definately cousins of mechanical watches and are absolutely facinating.
Brilliant :) Do you have any gauge blocks yet? If not get yourself a small surface plate, some gauge blocks, and a indicator stand...then you can test your measuring equipment quickly and easily...among a million other uses...fair warning though mate, its a deep nasty hole metrology is LOL. It leads straight to bloody scraping! Anyway, again, fair job. Enjoying your channel.
Hi RedDogForge, Thank you for the advise yes i have some 1,2,3 blocks but no surface plate yet but I’m keeping my eyes peeled for a small one. Glad you’re enjoying the channel all the best. 👍
I'm only 1 minutes in but I just want to say your indicator probably only has 0.030” of travel. You can adjust where the position of indication is by moving the arm.
Thanks for the video. Do you have a special tool to release the black locking screw next to the lever? I’ve got a Verdict Metrinch DTI which much the same problem and I assumed it’d be that black screw needed tightening?
Congratulations for that great rescue! I'm trying to make a tool and I'm doing some research on gauges. Please, I'm little curious about your accent... Are you from Scotland? Greetings form Perú :)

Nice job. Just bought one at auction that’s seems stuck. This should help.

Legközelebb, ha ilyen javítást csinálsz, akkor a kamerának is mutasd meg, hogy csinálod! Így szart sem ért a videód!
Thanks for the video.

Thanks Hector. So the accent is actually southern England, a small island to be precise of the south coast.
