Interesting. That would mean no further War of the Rohirrim releases before that book and that seems a stretch. They’ll want to tap into the movie and launch box enthusiasm.
@@toomanyminis. that is a good counterpoint. Perhaps the edition releases soon then and the war of the Rohirrim later.. close to the release of the movie. But that would mean the edition begins a month earlier without its starter box, which would be unlikely, so you may be correct and all Rohan appears in armies of the lord of the rings.
2 major questions yet to be answered! 1) Wonder if the Rohan set will replace the OG box? (Potential ramifications for the Rohan battlehost box, will that be updated too?) 2) Tribesmen of Dunland look mutli-part assembly, Rohan do not; wonder if they're 2 part slot-n-play, single mold even? I'm down for homage poses with updated modern standard molds, regardless of assembly. So very excited! Expecting some mounted knights are yet to be revealed. We've still got a few more heroes to go too.
Good questions. I’d imagine they will replace the existing Rohan box and it’s possible we get new battlehost boxes. Rohan could be repackaged with a different hero now. They have plenty to choose from. They may not want to discount the new models yet by putting them in a battlehost. I think Dunland look to have a lot of assembly options and Rohan look like two part modern push fit models to me.
More models I could see coming include: new Helm Hammerhand (multiple versions), Hera (multiple versions), Freca, Frealaf, Hild, Skull-mask Hill Tribesmen, Hill Tribes Cavalry, Hill Tribes Mumakil, Hill Tribes siege ramp, Snow Troll, new Orcs, new Watcher and White Great Eagle.
@jessepatten8697 Rohan riders for sure. Do you think the Royal Guard feature in the new film? My guess is they get a nerf in comparison to regular Riders this edition.
@@toomanyminis. I think I may have seen them? There were Rohirrim in silver armor guarding Edoras in the trailer, so they have a different design to the LOTR versions.
I know this is wishful thinking but could you imagine if they updated the rest of their plastic sprues to that standard? Moria goblins and the last alliance sprues being the oldest and most in need!
The goblins were quite good when it comes to detail and setting apart fabric from armour and skin, but almost all the other 12 miniature sprues look outdated now... I agree 100% that the last alliance deserves a remake, preferably with 3x4 warrior sprues for Numenor and High Elves respectively...
Wonderful box. Do think there is a slight lack of terrain - it could have done with a ‘scatter’ sprue of some variety to bulk it out. Will say for those thinking about it, the current battlehost boxes are an absolute steal - grab them before they’re updated and likely more expensive
New to all of this and waiting for this starter set to drop to get into the game. When you say the battlehost boxes are a steal, is that because their price has dropped since release? Will battlehosts be different going forward? And assuming War of Rohirrim will be my first, are there any battlehosts I should definitely pick up?

I’d love a new eagle. Not really necessary as you could paint an existing eagle white but the profile would be cool.

Would be great. I actually think the Moria goblins still look good but they’re very repetitive. Weirdly I’d most like new wood elves.

@bimonsolivar8898 I think there’s a couple of sprues I’d be very unlikely to replace. Dwarf Rangers still look fantastic to me.
