Another viewing of some wonderful equipment, especially the hand built Renault tractor here in the colonies we did a lot of that with the Model T. Be Safe and Thank You.

Definitely a case of making the best of what you have Max, something which does not happen much now.

It's a funny thing, life. 30 years ago I was all into concours restoration. 30 years later I see the importance of a vehicle's history, whisky dents and all. Too many concours tractors looking like they'd never worked a day. My favourite? That little blue Renault. I have a soft spot for ugly mucklings. And can you imagine the look on that rich lad's face when his farmer dad said I've bought you a Porsche? Vielen Dank, Mark. (That lad was probably feeling a bit dank, as it happens)... 👍

Some really characterful stuff there Bill and the little Porsche was beautifully made in keeping with that famous name.

This looks like a very interesting show, and less than 30 miles from home for me, France is very secretive about these shows, they are rarely advertised and you only get to know about them via friends, then just as they get a good attendance, they are not held again? When was this show on? Many thanks for posting this one! Chris B.

It was a cracking show Chris, only spoilt by a very invasive public address system mainly used for making long rambling speeches. I spotted an entry for it in La Vie de L'Auto and when we got to Temple, there was one sign in the middle of the roundabout as you entered the village on the main road, that was it as far as I could see. It was the second weekend in September if I remember correctly, blazing heat but still well attended. There is one more video to come about the cars and bikes which were there.

@@oldnutsgarage That is a typical French Motor Event experience, there are a lot f really good events around here, but the location is almost kept a secret, even when you know there should be an event on it is really hard work trying to find if that event is on this year, it is not like they are tiny private shows, some are huge events held at a lovely Chateau, but all require a great deal of research, glad you enjoyed the show, the tannoy is a problem at most events now I am afraid, they seem to think we want awful music blasted in our ears the whole time. Stay safe! Chris B.

I wouldn't mind that Porche, or the reanult that followed for that matter.

The Porsche was an absolutely cracking restoration and the design was almost too delicate for a tractor, really beautiful all round.
