you don't require java for android studio if you are not going to do any dev work for java other than android studio, the android studio package comes with jdk which can be configured to be used in project, it is installed in the same location as sdk. nice video btw
At 7:45 the video shows "loading devices" next to the Add Configuration pull down menu. Up to this point no devices have actually been selected. The video misses out some important stages about configuring the phone you wish to emulate. Anyone who is wanting to configure everything will find this video shows a new project on an existing set up. it is not a new Ubuntu install followed by a new Android Studio install.
Hello, Android Studio uses RAM extensively, so you should look for more RAM. Around 8 GB would make it run without any issues. 4GB will lag a lot, the minimum recommended is 8GB or higher.
Thanks for the tutorial. But I have a problem where when I download the component at the start 5:40 my internet connection is lost, so is there a way to repeat the download? or should I just reinstall it?
At 6 min 10 secs we see "Create New Project" where we can select the template. I am not seeing the same display as I have previously created a project. and that is shown instead. How can I get back to the display shown at 6:32 in the video to select a (new) Project Template again ? I hope someone can help me on this.
@@miracleguy1330 Yeah, Thanks. i figured that one out eventually. It's the second post (below) about missing information about setting up a device in the first place which still has me beat !

No, I don't think think it's related to Ubuntu. But Android studio requires decent amount of memory to run. So me be your hardware can be the cause.
