    I started producing my own music at 40. I'm 46 now and I am very happy with my progress. I can willfully create any idea in my mind. It's been a lot of work but tons of fun at the same time.

      @@vanyl.d the best advice I can give is to create everyday. Watch a lot of tutorials from producers you admire or styles you like. Learn the techniques you like and experiment with them in your own mixes. Just keep creating and try to learn something new every once in a while. The most important thing is don't worry about how good your creations are. Have fun trying and learning new things. Let creating every day be it's own reward and before you know it you will have amassed a plethora of skills. You should be realistic and honest with your self about the quality of what you create but only as a way to Guage where you are in relation to where you would like to be, so that you know what you need to improve on and practice more. Lastly, NEVER GIVE UP ON YOUR DREAM. I hope that helps.

      It’s comforting to know I’m not the only one lol 😂 was thinking of making some songs acapela style(think pitch perfect, making instrument sounds using the voice?) and limited instruments. It’s really my only choice but it doesn’t capture fully what I have in my mind.

    Follow the joy I love this as a central theme. I have fun in daws but there's something disengaging about putting on the headphones. I need my hands on the instruments to feel the groove. My hope is now that I've expanded between guitar, bass, keys and drums and learned new elements in music from each, I can devise an integrated recording plan that helps to get past that headphone aversion.

    It's a trap, am not down playing learning how to record your vocal but producing ' like full time production' at first it makes sense but when time goes on its not funny, time you would have invest in your craft you will be investing it on other artist to be patronise at all time, and if you are not careful years will go and you are just moving in circles
    It's best as an artist look for a producer, creat relationship and you both should grow together, the time you will be thinking of key bord melody or drum groove the producer is helping you to that and being in the creative state to make u a fire beat, why you are spending your time on the song writing and performance,
    If you one to follow her method just keep 5 years of your life if you are serious in being a music producer, why waist it just create relationship with your producer and u both grow together

    I love this video! I have a question, what if you want to be a beat maker as well? Does this approach work for that? I also songwrite & would love to produce myself but i alao would lovevto make beats for others ir wven companies etc to make a living....i too get overwhelmed in how to start and most times give up because if it. I just need a more practical approach that is not too complicated as im nowhere near tech savy in using the daw (logic us what i use) and actual song/beat structure so i can finish the beats i make. Thx

      thank you, glad you enjoyed! Absolutely, this works for any genre because everything starts with a VISION and intention first! @@ProduceLikeaBossthank u soooo much for this. I checked the video...the beat was 🔥 btw!! Wow ur a beast! You move through the daw so fast! I want to learn how to do that! Honestly that was one of the things holding me back to creating was sucking at using the daw, knowing how to get and put in plug ins...know what plug ins are good, creating ur own kits etc. It seems so overwhelming...I'm a creative but the tech part is what hinders me. Ur personality and the way u explain things inspired me to get back in it and not give up! I actually use logic too..do u have a video on how to get better going through the daw more smoothly where u can focus more on creating? Even the way u copy, paste and move...u do it so effortlessly!! Ur amazing!!

    I disagree about being dated. Are you still in Nashville? Modern music the absentence of live musicians is very noticable also the lyrics are good and the music is horrible or the music track is good and the lyrics suffer. You sould like coming from that California music appeoach to creating music math where the lyrics dont have to make sense to which i reply in country music its 3 chords and the truth!

    • @ProduceLikeaBoss
      @ProduceLikeaBoss  5 месяцев назад +1

      thanks for you input Tony! I'm actually a big fan of great lyrics (and of the saying 3 chords and the truth, because that truly is all you need for a good song!) What I'm implying in this video is that telling somebody NOT to skill stack and gain new tools (like producing) to increase their chances of success in the industry is dated. Knowledge is value. Application of that knowledge is power. ✨
