I made this cake and frosting today just as the recipe is written. It was amazing! I used 8 inch cake pans as that’s what I have. It ended up being a three layer cake and took 20 minutes to bake in a convection oven. This cake is lemony, delicate and the frosting is light and not overly sweet. Another keeper!
I just re-entered my baking era last week, im locked in. I Literally JUST took a marble cake out the oven, its still warm! Then you popped up like thats some divine timing okay😆 I love this.. my gworl!!! 💐🫶🏾

My cake texture didn't come out right. The cake portion was like gummy in the middle Not sure what I did wrong. The cake didn't taste horrible. You could see the oils sitting on the top . The icing turned out amazing! Can someone tell me what I possibly did wrong?

What happens if you don’t add food coloring?
Nothing but I guess you would make it yellow so your visual simulate a lemon ... otherwise it would look like a vanilla cake 🤷♀️
The taste would be the same. The cake will be a creamish-yellow and the frosting would be white.
