    Eco travel is as risky to local communities as is mining.

      I lived in South Lake Tahoe for 18 years. The degradation is astounding.

    runouts on slabs are obligatory, perhaps not twenty metres but 6 to 8 to 10 metres, never bolts a slab every 3 metres

  • @racerschin

    long runouts are the definition and character of climbing. keep them.

    Really awesome. But why is the retreat owner so superstitious in his building practices?

    I still don't get the title of those videos. Why calling it "a world less travelled" ?

    • @sailinggaia3582
      @sailinggaia3582 2 года назад +13

      They are going places that are not known for their climbing, and so are less travelled to by climbers. They are showing that there is beautiful climbing all around the world.

      @@sailinggaia3582 ok thx for taking time to answer! I had it as: reducing our carbon footprint...

      @@Benborntoride hah, never thought of it like that but can see how one might interpret it like that. It's a common expression & doesn't even really have to refer to a geographic location. One could use it or the more frequently used saying, "The/a road less travelled" in many different contexts. 🤙🏼

    Bolts every few meters? Why not use a ladder? New routes are practically the same thing 😜

      Do you know how long a meter is? What’s your expectation of bolt distance, 50 feet? If so, you are cordially invited to come climb at Whitehorse Ledge, New Hampshire 😁.

      Just googled it. That one? I’d climb free. Ropes will only slow me down. (Whether I die or break all my bones is decided in the first 30 meters of the climb. These are my only two options on a serious attempt.) 😂
      I tried smith rock OR once. Emphasis on tried. My climbing skills… if I were to measure them…. I think you can’t measure it.You’ll have to dig for it.
