The SAS almost singlehandledly prevented Israel entering the Gulf War using these adapted Land Rovers and causing chaos behind enemy lines for weeks on end. Check out Mike Curtis' book 'Close Quarter Battle' which covers his part in the Gulf War in detail. General Schwartzkopf didn't think it was possible and was very reluctant to agree to such action but was eventually convinced by the British commander that the SAS would be successful.
Yep but you missed one key fact. Schwartzkopf had a last minute meeting with the Israeli top brass where they told him that they were going to join the war and that he better have a good reason for them not to. He explained the potential plan with the SF units to go in but hadn't said which units. One of the Israelis stopped him and asked: "which SF units?" He replied: "British SAS" And before he could continue they backed down and agreed.
you know, when you think about it... it’s fucking crazy just how quick we had boots on the ground and were ready to go after 9/11 happened. which I mean, those boots needed to be on the ground. but holy shit. just two short months later they were conducting missions. thank you, to all of those who have served.
There are some countries that always seem to punch above their weight...UK, Norway, New Zealand. Pound for pound these small nations are streets above the competition...why? Training, fortitude and mental aptitude....
Plus smaller nations like Norway and new Zealand can buy the newest best equipment because it costs less to equip and train a smaller fighting force. Plus NZ kinda has the threat of China's pacific expansion to worry about.
SAS simply the best fact all special forces derived from it. No question. All special forces are exceptional no doubt. Amazing individuals, as are all armed forces. Real men, and women.
No wonder why there is not a single casualty. I mean if I was one of those operators and I know that there is over 100 of us, I must've felt invincible. A dozen or so SAS can get the job done, what's more with a hundred.
execution of mission was excellent, very impressed. curious to know why the US had such a strict/limiting window of contribution, given that the mission greatly depended on that air. obviously not obligated, could you do a video involving MARSOC (2014+)?
US intel had initially classified the target as low priority, plus almost all US forces in country were focused on supporting the Northern Alliance push on Kabul almost 1000km north.

@@christycullen2355 It fell due to the mishandling of the civilian leadership the Bush administration installed who didn't pay attention to what the actual ground pounders and their native contacts were saying. Politicians, amirite?
This British operation conducted in brood daylight without no casualties with over 100 hostiles killed or captured speaks volumes of why the British special forces are the best in the world
The best in the business. I used to know an ex SAS operative. Friend of my dads..Top guy. He became a police trainer after his service. Of course no one knew until he was out. We just thought he was in the regular army.. Early seventies. Much more secretive then..
They don't like to be in the limelight now to be fair. However. I do know special ops now but also knew one back in the day and his nickname was 'Tiny' which was quite ironic as he was the opposite. Served in the special forces and Falklands. There may even people on here who remember Tiny. He was in his 40's/50's back in the 90's so probably served 60's through to the 80's. Only found out he was ex special forces after a drunken night in after he was building my patio lol
The Fact, "the force that wins is the winner" I'm always glad when it one of our allies. My country got mad many, many years ago over Tea and Taxes and after a sizable war - for the time and our population - and a little help from our (other) friends we became a new country called the United States, (you know - the other side of the pond) and we grow and grow until we fill it coast to coast and border to border (at a great cost to the folks that were already here) sadly another story. Rome ruled for about 2,000 yrs and each great since then has been a fewer years at the top but less and less than 2,000 years. The USA is in the 246th year of it's life and I've been a member since 1-24-1942 = 80 yrs and counting! I think its great, "Yep I can think of a few improvements" but, "A small candle on a dark night is a beacon of light" and we're more than a small candle of light to a sometimes very dark world of our ideas of freedom. We will remain as long as we remain firm in the idea that freedom is worth the fight and the death to truly be a free people. Maybe we have already lost that freedom and don't even know it yet. May God have mercy on our souls if that turns out to be the fact we missing in 2022, a good year but still kind of fuzzy as Russia and others are pushing Eastward into NATO countries. May an old man's death and his children and their children death be in a country that still believes freedom is worth the cost and "ism" is worth fighting against. God in the overview picture may not care, but I do and I'm only human but dam full of this is still one of the greatest countries on the planet. U.S. Army 1960-196? RA 19 859 XXX, Fort Polk, LA in, Fort Jackson, N.C out. Living out West and it is still a great life!
This was mid-to-late november 2001, a month and a half after the initial invasion. By that time the US was conducting an extensive air campaign, both with strikes on strategic and logistical targets and by dropping propaganda leaflets all over Afghanistan. The air forces (both the actual air force and navy) weren't, however, brought up to that speed yet as some of the seaborn assets hadn't arrived in the area of operations yet. And since the americans didn't believe in the importance of the mission (in the video it is stated that they didn't even consider it a worthy target at all until the UK pushed on it), it was certainly not a priority. I can almost see some american TF commander going: "Well, tell 'em it's 1100 or nothing. Maybe that'll shut 'em up."

im addicted to these i have watched 8 of these in a row now
Love this video. Very reminiscent of the missions in Africa from the original troopers including fellow Ulsterman Blair “paddy” Maine. How can you not be proud to be British when it comes to our military, not least SAS/SBS 🇬🇧❤️🇬🇧
As a Canadian, I subconsciously put my pinky out as I watched this on my IPod. 🇬🇧🇨🇦

"The third and final operation would commence with A squadron collecting valuable Intelligence" in an opium factory.
"Despite orders to attend the debrief, 6 of the 100 operators we noted to attend."
Brilliant. My intelligence always takes a hit for several hours if I visit an opium factory. Well done lads!
How much was brought back to britian .ps if yous are so into knowing.things .who flooded America and made billions out of killing millions of people and destroying millions of kids lifes .the c.i .a .there the biggest drug dealers in the world .how do you think it's gangster peadophiles like Clinton .trump .gates and other pals of Epstein who ran America all this time .how does anyone in britian come up with a hundred ton of dope in one go .are you clicking on now we're that kind of money comes from
I always like to call the SAS " The grandaddy of all special forces". Thanks to all now serving, those who have, and those who will in the future. FLY NAVY!!!
Lions amongst men , I've had friends who got that beret ..... just cant imagine what it would feel like
7:41 Everybody's dead chaps, put the kettle on.
@Talorc MacAllan "crumpets and scones please guvna"
Great video presentation. Keep up the great work.
With their limited resources and in daylight suffering 0 casualties this is truly sensational, these men are a different breed glad they serve our country and aren't against us🏴🇬🇧
U just showed a wales and birtish fuckinn flag
Welsh can get in the fkn S.A.S. lol it’s a birtish force
@@dfkdiek518 maybe he wanted to let people know which part of UK he is from...
Brilliant channel mate....job well done 👍
the SAS boys must have some balls....the land rovers with no armor...bloody hell mate
They've used pinkies for years and probably will continue to do so for the foreseeable future
Most Australian SF still use these rovers
these things aren't meant to be engaging in direct combat with other vehicle or anti-armor weapons. SF groups with these types of vehicles tend to prioritise speed over armor and firepower.
It’s all about mobility and firepower
So STUPID
Seeing that new content notification gets my heart going
Man, you should be in History Channel... thanks for another great video.
Respect from Portugal SAS such badasse´s
Dude I was about to comment on a video last night after a 2 hour binge on your channel asking for more the new format is 10/10 emblems at the end is a good touch love it
22nd SAS at your door with Tomcats and Hornets flying cover? They might as well have given up just from the sheer awesomeness of the assault force.
Thank you for doing these videos. My favorite channel on you tube!
Another great video... thx for posting 👍🏻🇬🇧
As always. A quality production, I very much look forward to the next video.
This is a great example of cooperation between the UK and USA.The enemy didn't stand a chance.
Apart from the fact the Americans made our SF carry out the operation in broad daylight! That ain't good!
British SAS proved to be among the best in elimination missions
I'm truly amazed at how much these guys can accomplish with those black dots on their faces. They really are special!

I’m an Asian Muslim born to immigrants who came over from Kenya in the 60’s. I’m an English patriot who would gladly die for my country. This shit makes me so so so proud of our boys. My chest automatically puffs out when I hear stuff like this.
Hello mate. What a positive comment. Sometimes people forget that the biggest victims of AQ etc are the Muslims themselves. Kind regards.

Thanks, like your graphics, progression of info and narration
The SAS is like that one person with a inventory full of enchanted golden apples
These guys are the best. I love our folks and we have some incredibly brave men but SAS are a different breed in my experience. No serious casualties in a daytime operation. Just incredible.
This channel is bloody amazing!
This channel is the best man
How brave.......just jumping out of a plane gets my full admiration, let alone the combat....
And doing a bloody HALO jump at that
Absolute class as usual mate!
Nothing like an SAS raid in the desert. It's like home away from home.
British and american military are some of the most incredible militaries to be on the face of the earth. I'm glad we're allies
The US manufactures the technology. The British know how to use it.
The public are brainwashed into saying that .why because we haven't seen what Russia and China are capable of doing in war now .if farmers. In Iraq .Afghanistan .Yeman .and housing estate working class in Ireland .and Vietnamese farmers beat America and britian .what do you think Russia and China would do to us
I love this channel!
I think the most amazing thing about this whole operation is that only 1 of the landrovers broke down !
And not one SAS trooper killed, shows how good the SAS really are. #bestintheworld
Your video's tempo commands my attention ... Well done!
One of the Israelis stopped him and asked:
"which SF units?"
He replied: "British SAS"
And before he could continue they backed down and agreed.
Just found this channel... now addicted..
you know, when you think about it... it’s fucking crazy just how quick we had boots on the ground and were ready to go after 9/11 happened. which I mean, those boots needed to be on the ground. but holy shit. just two short months later they were conducting missions.
thank you, to all of those who have served.
You know your content is good when I am only catching a word for every 3 to 5 thrown my way….yet still watching.

I’m 🇺🇸 and say what u want bout DEVGRU and Delta but the SAS is the BEST tier1 unit on the planet!!!!
Great vid as always. Good to see everything went as you'd expect.....including the Land Rover breaking down 😂
SAS simply the best fact all special forces derived from it. No question. All special forces are exceptional no doubt. Amazing individuals, as are all armed forces. Real men, and women.
Excellent content brother I'm hooked on your videos keep up the good work 🇬🇧👍💪
No wonder why there is not a single casualty. I mean if I was one of those operators and I know that there is over 100 of us, I must've felt invincible. A dozen or so SAS can get the job done, what's more with a hundred.
Excellent content as per usual, thank you for your work as always. 👍👍👍😎
execution of mission was excellent, very impressed. curious to know why the US had such a strict/limiting window of contribution, given that the mission greatly depended on that air. obviously not obligated, could you do a video involving MARSOC (2014+)?
US intel had initially classified the target as low priority, plus almost all US forces in country were focused on supporting the Northern Alliance push on Kabul almost 1000km north.
LessCommonKnowledge good copy. makes sense given Nov 2001 was the infancy stage of the war, thus kinetic in less certainty
@Weißer Wolf they were successful seeing that the country fell in such a small amount of time considering how these are the same people that defeated the British and Soviets.
@@joeclaridy well that's not exactly true, I wouldn't say the country fell. The main government may of but not much more than that
@@christycullen2355 It fell due to the mishandling of the civilian leadership the Bush administration installed who didn't pay attention to what the actual ground pounders and their native contacts were saying. Politicians, amirite?
Wow - what a cool vid and channel. Great stuff!
The most sophisticated drive-by in human history
Awesome as always .
You gotta do a video on the SAS hostage rescue of Irish rangers from the west side boys in Sierra Leone in 2000. That'd be a good one to watch
If you can't wait, Mark Felton covered that on his war stories channel not to long ago.
LessCommonKnowledge I love marks channel
I saw a full British TV documentary on that particular mission on a UK terrestrial channel.
Op. Barras
Cracking book.
This British operation conducted in brood daylight without no casualties with over 100 hostiles killed or captured speaks volumes of why the British special forces are the best in the world
Just thank the huge airstrike
Cant get enough of these videos
This cements the fact SAS are the greatest special forces unit
I just discovered your channel and its pure gold. Keep up mate :D

CAS only available at 11:00, did they have a dinner engagement to attend😄
Beefsuprem0 we can give you an hour sure but we break for lunch at 12 so you’d best get a wriggle on 😂
I wonder what the Hell was so important that they could only give 1 hour in the middle of the day?
Great videos man, keep it up
The bravery of SAS is proved by being within 100 miles of US planes. Blue on blue. An American military speciality.
Well if the vast majority of vital air support is from USA, It stands to reason that USA blue on blue will be high.
Full respect to those brave servicemen putting their lives on the line for us.
