Excellent video! I learned more from your "Dummies" tutorial than all the others combined. Looking forward to seeing more of your work with the Seestar.
This is a terrific tutorial, thanks so much for posting. I was a little unsure of exactly what steps I needed to undertake upon initial setup, and you ran through it simply and clearly. I feel confident I can get my S50 up and running properly now, if only we would get some clear skies up here in Minnesota!
Great tutorial. I just wish that when you refer to a function like denoise on the app that's represented by an icon that you point out the icon in question. since for beginners like me it's more obvious.
Good feedback. When I do these videos I often re-shoot footage that I am not happy with the first or second run through. I did shoot a sequence where I went through the icons in detail but it got cut in the final editing without my realizing that I left that important detail out. However, if you watch during the night time session I do turn on the labels for the icons including the DeNoise icon so that part should be clear and helpful. But as I said, I dropped the sequence where I went through all of the icons which show up during live view/live stacking.
Picked up our Seestar S50 recently, we have used it briefly and got some good results, but this tutorial will be of great benefit to us. Just need a clear sky (UK weather isn’t good at the moment ☹). Thank you very much for the video. Hopefully you will do some more covering the other features 🤞
Thanks. Tap on the Question Mark and it will label all of the icons. The DeNoise one looks like a lipstick case with 3 "X's" around the top. It is 2 above the "?"
very nice. thanks. helps when you go through step by step. I was able to get 20 min of M1 on 12/7 before clouds rolled in and started rejecting all the frames :-(. Now I know what most of the buttons are.
Hey, great video and will be subscribing.............but have a question: at the start of your video and on your website you show a Seestar for Dummies brochure/booklet, where can I get a copy?
If you can afford the S50 I would go with that. We always want more aperture and the S50 provides (5/3)^2 = 2.77 times the light gathering area with the bigger optics. The S50 is still very compact and light weight as well. I am sure that you will enjoy whichever one you get. If you can, please support my channel by using one of the affiliate links to either of my two favorite astronomy suppliers which are listed in the text below the video. Good luck!
@@astronomytipsreviewswithcu740 yes, I understand the need for bigger optics, its just not sure if I will like hobby enough to justify extra cost. I have a lousy night sky view due to hills, houses and light pollution where I am in Spain. Also I like the S30 auto leveling option which is not on S50 and the 2nd lens, I could always upgrade if it works out. Not sure the links work where I am.
My understanding is that it has been reported that the S30 may have an AI tracking mode for daytime imaging but that has not yet been confirmed. I can tell you that at this point the S50 cannot track non-celestial objects. However, if the AI tracking mode is only a software feature maybe the S50 will have it once the S30 does as well. That is my best understanding at the moment.
Yes you can have the best of both worlds. Live stack and enjoy the viewing but turn on the "Save Each Frame in Enhancing" on the "Advanced Features" page to save the individual sub-frames as Fits files which you can post process later in your favorite astrophotography software. You can also use a number of much simpler programs to slightly tweak the saved stacked jpeg or stacked Fits file.
I use the Seestar since some weeks and I am very happy with the results.
Hello and thanks for you help with this awesome device. I will give this stuff a try. Good work and keep-um coming my friend!
I appreciate the positive feedback. And, yes, I will have more coming.
This was great! Thank You.

I just bought Seestar S50, thank you very much for your tutorial。
Thanks for watching.

Glad I could help. We're about to get some rain storms here so I can't do much for now myself.
Best tutorial I've yet to see...Thank You...new sub here.
I appreciate the positive feedback. Thanks for subscribing as well.

Good video, only missed which icon on the side of the screen was the denoise icon command.

Awesome video! Subscribed, liked, rang the bell! Just got my S50 today, but sadly, sky is full of clouds. :( Cheers!

Bill, thanks. That was just a dummy guide I made up for effect. The guide is supposed to be the video itself.
@@astronomytipsreviewswithcu740 Ok, nice prop.............would be nice if someone would put out one though...be really handy. Clear Skies!
Interesting, trying to decide between the S30 & S50. I am a dummy.

@@esrider7765 I think you made your decision already. Good luck and don't worry about the links.
Can the s50 track in the day like birds cars etc like the s30 can ?

Question. If i choose to live stack through the s50 can i still use post programs to enhance image
