Too much suspense in one level!!! and with the music... uff I had to play that level standing up because I couldn't concentrate sitting down, with the SNES 🤣🤣🤣
@@eggwhitepopcorn2918If you listen closely, the first few notes of this section do sound like Indiana Jones, which is fitting because these levels are essentially tributes to the famous minecart chase in Temple of Doom (personally my favorite of the original trilogy)
It's meant to be an incorporation of the main melody from DK Island Swing, but it works out pretty well that it sounds like Indiana Jones for a moment too.
Sam, with compression treble always goes. That’s why bass is more prominent. But If you’re remastering it go with the balanced sound that sounds best to you. My hats off to you, your channel will see millions of views soon.
Im going to be singing this variant of the mine cart carnage song on the ride. I dont care if I look like an idiot in the process, this is is going to be so exciting!!!!
I love this theme but it lacks that adrenaline like feel without the sounds of the kart whenever it hits the rails every time you jump, it used to make the level feel stressful which I loved
When I completed Donkey Kong Country 1 for the first time a few months ago, I was surprised that there were only two mine cart levels. The craziest part is how the first one took me at least 20 tries, and that level is only in the second major area of the game. The second one, which is in the factory area, I beat it first try, no problem. Being able to jump OUT of the mine cart gives you much more control on the jumps. In the first mine cart ride, having to jump with the minecart makes you feel like you're constantly out of control. I'm thinking they should have put the first mine cart ride in the last area of this game, which is also a mine area. I'd say the difficulty fits better there. Unless the absurd difficulty curve is intended.
Awesome as always. However, one small error is that the bass part at around 0:31 to 0:35 (and at the same point on every other loop obviously) is off key by I think 2 semitones.
@@aquamidideluxe5079 You're referring to the trumpets at around 0:28. I was referring to the bass section just after that, which goes from C to F#/Gb, but it should be G#/Ab (ruclips.net/video/UrKRIQaIlhE/видео.html). This error was also on the older restorations from 2018.
@@Surgicalsensei I wasn't going by ear. I actually looked up what the note was by using one of those online flash-based pianos. I'm assuming the piano is tuned correctly of course. The main point is that the bass in the part I mentioned is 2 semitones too low.

Played this game for the first time at the age of 9 in 1999 with my older brother, we struggled with this level for a few days until I finally conquered it.
When you drive and the light on the streets turn yellow, and so the song plays in your head and to your right you see the cops and you start sweating as you slam down on the gas pedal and quickly reposition your foot to slamming on the breaks, and suddenly you hear the sirens from the cops and little did you know it was this song so you just keep going and now you are on a hot pursuit and it gets worse. . . .
Playing this first time the other day, I found this one way more difficult than any other level in the game, simply because you have almost no time to react to the incoming Krashes at all due to screen crunch. I had to memorize the layout first.
I feel that this version abuses WAY TOO MUCH of the decay effect compared to the previous one. Some instrumnents are better placed, but in general I feel this version a little step back with the older version. Edit: don't take this comment serious. I made this comment because I heard this in mono headphones. In stereo this sounds flawless. Sorry...

my favorite level as a kid
This minecart levels were always really cool to see in DKC games 😊
I played this level the other day and it took me about 30 minutes to finally beat it
I lost all my lifes trying it. Making that cart jump sure is a shore.
Same here. I had to keep going back to Winky's Walkway for lives, too.
This took me 1 year and 7 months lol
I just did the cartwheel glitch
This game was really unforgiving. I don’t know how I beat it as a kid. 😅

Me too! ^_^
Exactly! It was probably made so that the cart hitting the rail acted like the natural percussion.
If you enter the Cannon at the right time, the music is pretty much insync with the jumps.
if you enter the barrel at just the right time, the entire level is pretty much in-sync with the music.
This is one of my fav themes from DKC :)
