Am I nuts? BLIND BID for a locker and bought it through an online abandoned storage auction

- This is a Locker Nuts first. I purchased a unit through an online auction... but without even seeing what it looks like. I've never bought anything with a BLIND BID before, and I'm nervous to see how this turns out.

Locker Nuts episode 91
Nice finds in the locker. I actually put in a bid on Wednesday July 31 for a 10 x 20 that a facility said that the door would not open. I maxed bid at $100 This morning Saturday Aug 3 I checked and it wasn't there any more. The Law of Redemption must have kicked in. I was willing to buy sight unseen. That's nuts. At least you, had a description. I had nothing! I am sorry that you are not a fan of sports cards. One little 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 piece of cardboard with a picture of a guy, can net you 100 if not 1,000 of dollars for the right ones. And there are plenty in the 5-50 dollar range. I respect that you don't want to be bothered with them. There are way to many commons. I like finding that one gem in the mist of all those commons. Keep on being you Locker Nuts, because whatever you are doing, you are doing it right. Much respect to you!
Pamela Linn
My sister's fiance past in 2003. He had TONS of sports cards. My goofball sister ebayed them by the box. She had boxes upon boxes of them. She knew some were worth money but did not want to deal with it. I would have. 💔
Too bad, you couldn't of bought them from your sister. Gone through them, separated the commons from the gems, and sold them accordingly. I feel for you.
Great job! Do another blind bid!!
I love how you talk to us ,like we’re standing beside you!😍
Turned out to be a good blind buy. When you moved that dresser the hair on the back of my neck stood up,and still not sure where the cat is,LOL.
I'm chuckling over that. It was really obnoxious wasn't it?
@@LockerNuts Bit like screechy chalk on a chalkboard, only worse, found the cat don't think he needs therapy,Lol.Really enjoy your content.
Your channel is one of my favorites because you show all aspects and give good info on all aspects 😊😊💕
I just can't wait to see what's in here .I think I'm as excited as you are.
That storage company keeps the place nice and clean. I went to a live auction on Thursday and the facility was filthy. They opened the unit door and roaches came out in droves. I was like hell no, not buying anything from this place
That's really gross. I wouldn't buy anything there either.
Was that really a question, of course your nuts! Locker Nuts & so am I...well just a different kind of Locker Nuts. You my friend are nuts over lockers, where I am nuts over you, Mrs & the little Locker Nuts : ) Hope that made sense, it did in my head lol..... Great unit for 50.00. And I dont think it was nuts going for it because you always get a feeling and its 99% right. So happy this time it was & not a big dump loadl Cant wait to hear how you really did on it. Oh and what was in the trunk? Enjoy your day and have a wonderful Sunday. God bless you and yours, ♡
Thanks Michele! I hope you enjoy your Sunday too. I probably won't have the next video (opening the trunk) done until Monday. Janna and I have just finished the Saturday flea market, and tomorrow is a really early morning one (leaving at 3am... brutal) and it's gonna wipe me out. But I promise we'll show ya what's in there soon!!!

A general rule with refrigerators and freezers is that they have to be stored standing upright and transported standing upright if you store and transport them on their side they lose their refrigerant.
Sorry I missed your LIVE CHAT tonight but I watch your replay. Great show. Keep up the good work and videos. I thoroughly enjoy watching you and your family find the locker finds. Your videos are not only fun to watch but educational. I’ve been watching just to learn your business. God bless you and your family and keep up the good job.
College Student...Wheaties Box worth money!!! It was signed one sold on eBay 6/12/2019 for 299.00$
worth about $8-10 in that condition (that was a facsimile signature)...
You make the best, most organized and clean locker videos! Props!! I enjoy seeing how you organize, dump & sell your lockers on video and tell us how much items are worth. I also appreciate that you and your wife are both real and honest people and that you keep your videos appropriate for all ages. Thanks much!
Thank you! I appreciate the feedback!!!
Wow I can't wait to see what the trunk holds and what the value is on the school books. The bike may pay for the Locker like you said. So the rest of the stuff is all profit. Let's hope there are some hidden gems between the school books, sports cards, the sneakers, the sword, and the other few things. Either way you will make a profit I think. Once again it was a great video ever tho you left us hanging LOL. Jack I really enjoy your videos whether they are short long and no matter what type they are. The reason is because they always make me smile, and these days I need all the smiles I can get. So thank you once again for my daily smile. Please tell Jenna and the girls I said hi. I love the Locker Nuts Channel and thank you for sharing this part of your world with us fans.👨👩👧👧🐕🐱❤❤💕👍👏👏👊😊
Thanks so much Lynne! I always appreciate that the videos make you smile. That alone is worth it!!
@@LockerNuts Jack you are such a nice and kind person. Thank you for being you.❤🙃👍
Keep the fridge in the garage for cokes and water.👍👍👌🤓
Interesting locker and good luck and can’t wait to see what is inside the big box chest
That was a nice blind buy Jack , good job mate, thanks for sharing, Great video 👍👍👍
Good luck Jack.👍
Wow great buy. Jack you are a gambler
It makes you smile. A real treasure hunt. Oh! Nice!
Sometimes blind buy can be good. You are going to do good. I bought 1 10x15 was just full of household. Not to good. Keep up the good work.
Sometimes you can do good and sometimes you can do bad
It will alright
You are just too funny. Good one.
Keep um coming!!
God Bless!
Jack you are too funny careful with that long sharp sword lol 🙂
I loved the blind bid, fun!
Definitely worth $50. I think a blind locker bid every once in a while is kind of fun.
Awesome Score !
Excellent video...nice ....bidding blind....love it...the gambler in me
Really enjoyed watching this. Love your attitude!
I could listen to him all day long. In fact had he been a teacher, I would have paid attention in school. lol
Nice Video Jack!🥰 Don’t let those trolls get to you I wouldn’t waste my time commenting on the things that they say. Some people have nothing better to do than complain. This unit looks really good, however I have a feeling someone looked thru the unit and took things out. Possibly a (Guitar)🎸 I don’t like the storage companies take the locks off the units before there sold. No one knows what they took before or after they sold it. I know they are online auctions and they have to do it to take pics. I would rather buy units that haven’t been opened. 😀
Good Luck on the next🍀 God Bless🙏🏻
Thanks Susan! I appreciate the feedback and support. And no worries, I don't let the trolls get me down. My wife and I get a good chuckle as she reads them to me while I drive.
Susan Maser I understand what your saying but the take the locks off so that the owners can't come and ransack it and to also "take possession" of it to sell.
Susan Maser I agree with you. They shouldn't cut the previous owners lock off until you come to pay for it. For on line auctions once they are one month behind the facility should delete their gate code, then every time the Locker owner come to the office to access their unit when their done take a pic it dosent cost anything. For those who rent the storage and don't come back they should take a picture when they are finished loading the unit and that would be for the blind auctions. Simply say the day the loaded the Locker here's how it looked when they were finished. That way they never have to cut a lock off until the new owner comes in to pay. If I owed a storage business that's how I would do it. Thanks for listening to my rant.😊
I like you guys! You have a great personality. I wish I could do this locker thing, but I am allergic to dust & who knows what else. If a locker is real dusty I would wear a mask, and gloves.
I'm not allergic to dust, but sometimes it still gets to me really bad. I've only worn a mask a couple of times, and it was only when there was bad mouse or rat contamination. Thanks for watching! We'll bring you on the adventure without having to breath the dust... all good, right?
@@LockerNuts That's right! Maybe carry an emergency bag too, in case you need to wash something off, or get a cut n your finger ect. just an idea. Take care and great hunting!
We all have to live on the edge at least once in our lives!! 🤞
You would be surprised how much some of those cards are really worth 👍😁
Yes, I would.
You can look up value of sports cards in a Beckett price guide
Exciting to get one sight unseen!
man i wanted to see the junk in your trunk hahaha great video thanks.
Good luck my friend
Are you kidding me !!!! To be continued??? 😤. I hope that trunk is filled with baseball cards!! 😂😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Remind people how many bad units you've gotten in the past and you never gave up! Blessed be ye!
True that... there have been many, and I'm sure they'll be many more bad ones!
This is awesome. Eastern PA had blind bid units for a time online. In PA if the unit goes for more than the debt owed the facility has to locate the owner and refund the money. If they can’t find the owner they have to put the money in a state trust with proof they attempted to locate as well as other identifying information. It’s a pain in the rear and they don’t get paid, so they were selling units closed. 20*20 and 20*30 were going for $15. It’s kind of a total gamble, it who’s going to pay big money for a closed unit?
Oh wow, that's nuts! Thanks for sharing that information, I love learning new things everyday : )
Jack you been doing good i hooe your luck stays with you that bike is about 400 to 500 dollars i think you did great on it
Thanks for sharing!
Good finds!
more blind bid please!!!
thanks!!!
You never know.👍 Mrs T
I think once in awhile it is good to buy blind. Good to take a chance
I give you a thumbs up, Scared money doesn't make money, Always like your videos
Oh noooooooo! I can wait for the trunk opening. You are so funny. Are the cards not valuable enough to deal with? Tyfs.
Other than a few cards....anything after 1975 or so were really over mass produced. Plus, everyone thought they'd be like the 50-60's cards so they kept them. You may have heard about the ones we use to clothes pin to our bikes so the spokes would create a great sound affect. I wonder how many Mickey Mantle cards suffered that fate?
@@lindabunce5133 Thanks for the explanation. Maybe kids can go back to putting them in bike spokes.
George from What the Hales would love that sword.
I hope there's treasure I'm the trunk. Love your videos.
Blind bid can do every good
You look like a kid on Christmas morning.🤗
True! It felt like unwrapping a present, no clue what's inside!
Good blind locker
Cliff hanger ha!!!! ♥️
I just got to the point where they guy brought the right key. I have a really good feeling about this unit. Good luck. I will post again if I am moved to. Thanks for sharing Jack.
Are you channeling your inner George, she is always finding swords
Wow cool deal
Griffey Jr is in the MLB Hall of Fame. That memorabilia including the cereal box is worth money.
Exciting! 😃
Hello! It is int a good idea. God bless you
You just may be Truly NUTZ... not just a LUCKER NUT !!! Okay, you
may have lucked out. The Schwinn Bike should get you your money
back & anything else is profit. Congratulations, you may have won
the lottery today...LOL GRAM in TEXAS.
Lucker Nuts... I love that!
You shouldn't have thrown that box of cereal away that was Griffey on the front that was part of a collection
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO I can't wait!
So nice i think it’s fun to do something like that! Enjoy your surprise ❤️❤️❤️❤️🇳🇱
Yea it was a smart to bid blind and you should do it once a week . You never know what you can get .plus for 64 not bad ... I think you should make this blind bid Wednesday or blind bid Friday’s . Out of all you guys ( treasure hunter , Pirates and stalkers) I look forward to watching you video everyday and idk how you don’t have more subs smh keep up the great work and remember who gave you the idea Blind bid Wednesdays or Fridays
Thanks Adrian! I would love to do more of these, but we don't have many opportunities to buy sight unseen. They usually open the doors and take multiple photos, unless the locker is so stuffed full they can't open the door because it's jammed. But I might pull the trigger next time I see one too, it was a bit of a thrill. I appreciate you watching, and the idea!
When you really don't want to open a fridge, is in an abandoned house. Drives me nuts explorers open them nearly every time and then we have to hear all the gagging, will they ever learn, don't open the fridge! lol I agree, don't care for sports cards either, they're like haystack items that you have to spend way to much time looking for that needle.
Thanks Evelyn! We are on the same page on the sports cards. Not much is going to change me in regards to having a passion for sports cards. So all I can do is bring them to an expert. I've hauled soooo many boxes into the card store in the next town, and in all the years, he has never bought one from me.
Bold risk. Sight unseen
I love baseball and football the box of frost flake box was worth money
You usually have good instincts so yeah!
I sold an old electrician code book from 2015 from when I graduated high school, I got 50.00 on eBay for. it sold in less than a day and I got the book for free while In School. I had tons of electrical books I still have to dig up and try and sale.
Chilton books are very desireable.
Yeah I thought so too but found a whole box of them recently and only sold one at a garage sale for $5. I looked them all up, and they were in the $11-$15 range. I guess I just didn't have the right ones. Do you know which ones to look out for?
As long as you know what to expect because of the location
Sports cards - I used to collect but lost it all in the divorce of 1994 and never picked it back up again. I do have a few autographed that I picked up when I was doing storage units in 2003-2005.
Awesome !
Blind bidding is a bigger gamble than with photos however they do go cheaper as no one knows what's there so won't pay as much. Kind of balances itself out I suppose... now to watch it opening and see what you got
⚾️CEREAL BOX WAS SAVED BECAUSE OF THE BASEBALL ⚾️ PLAYER ON FRONT😊😊😊
Was just about to say the same thing.
It was Griffin. Same guy on plaque!
It is worth at $10 bucks on eBay right now
You are goofy. What does Jana say when she sees you playing with the sword, you should be in the movies. Oh! You are!🥰🇺🇸😎👍🤩😆🤣😘
"Samurai Jack" LOL
Bidding blind is just gambling and requires big LockerNuts 😆. When you say thumbnail you should say it clearer cause I heard Dumbnail 😆.. Nice haul LuckyNuts lol
Well I guess it came out right because that pic would have been a dumbnail. But I like dumbnails too, so all good. Thanks Jay K for watching!!!
My vote is college dorm room storage.. the shoes might be Ken griffys lol and was that Ken griffy on the cereal?? Ijs there is a theme there
Iam not sure I would go blind, but you have to take a change sometimes. Good luck.
What??? You got a K-Sword. Do the K-Jeremy and EAT the Wheaties! What the Hate's! 😂😂😂
That's k-right! I thought about the locker food challenge, but I just couldn't do a 20 year old box.
@@LockerNuts LMBO! 😂😂😂
Gotta get crazy sometimes, lol. 💚✌
Look up those sports cards. You never know what you might have.
You just made your money back with that bike alone. $50 all day long. It's an aluminum alloy frame. If it's a carbon-fibre frame? That's more than $100 all day long right there. Carbon fiber frame bikes are very valuable. Because the bike is lite weight but durable.
And as Pamela Linn said. Go through the cards. Or take them to someone that knows their stuff about them. You never know sports cards. It all comes down to condition.
And someone else said it as well. That Wheaties box is worth money.
What I've noticed...often...in your video's...my heart skips a beat...when you just throw a whole bunch of paperwork in the trash without going through it ALL...you never know what you might find in it...you tend to just throw handfuls away.
We all need to go out of our comfort zone every now & then! ;)
good video the cereal box was a good one to save
I would but that’s because I over profile. Missed out on some good buys
Don't know if anyone has said this ---- but --- the Samari swords go as high as mid $20k or more. Even worn ones are worth approaching $1k. Good luck with it.
You shot this in June? Posted in August? Wasn’t because of two units formerly owned by two brothers that you had to clear out, was it? Sport cards are not your cup of tea? Yes, I believe you did mention that once or twice. I think this blind bid was good. Do it again at this facility if they do them again.
Thanks Kristine! Yeah, 25 episodes on the "Third Time" lockers has put me a bit behind. I've got a lot of stuff filmed and on my hard drive, some as far back as a year. If I break my leg or something (knock on wood I won't), that's my insurance policy that I won't run out of videos anytime soon. Thanks for watching!!!
List all three boxes of cards on eBay as a mystery lot. Or just at the flea market. But I think a eBay auction listing would get you better money on them.
The sports cards are boring... totally agree! Bike looks great
Ok, so those text books most likely do not have any/much value. Colleges buy back text books that are reusable. They may still be usable, but there is likely a newer addition.
All that being said the box the were in is actually pretty accurate "fire wood" not fire wood but fire starter. If you take your family camping it is far easier to carry 2-3 large text books than a pile of newspaper. Its already packaged and compacted for you... as far as the sports cards.... if you have someone who looks at them great, if not, well....
You nailed it. There wasn't much value there. But I've hit some good ones before, and the timing is right with school about the start up. But if you have an outdated version, get the fire started. I think the publishers and schools are in on it together, putting out only slightly updated versions often to push the sale of new books. It's definitely big business.
@@LockerNuts Yes, that is true, but in A LOT of cases, like where I live, the professor can and usually does still choose what book and even in some cases Wich edition they wish to use. I had a professor in 2018 that was insistent that the 1983 edition of the text book was the best.... Absolutely outdated, but still useful.
I gave you a big thumbs up because? It's your money
Gosh you’re strong 💪 x
Looked up Cereal Box on ebay and there is so many and not asking for much at all. It will be a waste of time trying to sell it.
Thank you CJ... thank you. You and I are on the same page. It's kind of hilarious seeing so many comments coming in to the contrary. So so many.
Pretty good for a blind bid. I think the bike is worth money.
Lol..Boys and their toys..lol (the sword)... I do not like waiting to see what's inside - just sayin'! Looks like you made your money back :) Thanks for sharing Jack!
Sorry Dude but that Wheeties box is worth money!!!
I love these comments. Keep 'em coming! Hilarious.
What does private seller usually mean ?
Is a person filling a locker just to auction it off for more money ?
Exactly. Got to watch out for them as they are often staged to look much better than they are, or to hide the broken items.
Thanks for the info . I was looking on storage treasures lot 889877. And I noticed There's a bunch of the private seller ones at the Alhambra location that keep coming up .
@@LockerNuts I appreciate your help and quick response. Thanks again.
Daniel Kisinger I cant say for sure about that location, but I know there are auction buyers up here who have been taking the garbage they can’t sell at the flea market, staging units to make them look good, and selling them private party. They are making good money doing it but I think it’s unethical. I wouldn’t take a private party unit if it was a dollar, unless I knew for a fact it was legit. I think a real seller would make the unit available to a buyer, to come and see and inspect.
