I JUST realized I totally messed up the end screen credit for sound design. It's DAVID Alba, not James. 🤦 Sorry for incorrectly crediting you for your marvelous work, David!
When the mama penguin found out that Mario "plays" with the penguin near the edge of the cliff, that's the moment the plumber knew, he mama'd his last mia.
I love voiceless storytelling and you nailed it. The fourth wall glances along with on-point music effects with the smooth expressive animation… It’s like Chuck Jones mixed with Pixar. Amazing job! 🎉
Oh my gosh! Chuck Jones! Mario is literally Tom in this animation. While the mama penguin is literally Spike. Which would make the baby penguin Tyke. I am seeing it all now.
@@GearBills Yo, what made you take inspiration from those Chuck Jones and Tex Avery-like cartoons? And not all those old Disney cartoons of the Mickey Mouse tradition? No wonder it's even more slapstick!
Amazing job on this animation, I always wanted to see the Penguin go mama mode on Mario. I don't usually give Thanks! too much, but this is really well done and looks even better than the movie. I love the small details, like the screen shaking when Mario lands at 1:20 and how the baby penguin got his cap at the end. The cartoonish movement really makes this feel like an old Tom and Jerry cartoon, and the ending really caught me off-guard. It's nice to see Mario get some karma for all the times he kicked a baby penguin off the cliff. ...Besides, Mario's fine. He's got extra lives.
Amazing animation! Also, for any who didn't pause at 0:42, it says "Santa Claus isn't the only one who can go down a chimney! Come on in! -Cabin Proprietor"
I love how your music has evolved to include more motifs from the Mario games, just like in the movie. I hope we can get a separate video with just the ost
I don't know why, but I was expecting Mario to somehow pull an Uno reverse with a side B I can already imagine a third one titled "The Penguin Problem 3: Mario's payback"
That was the fastest four minutes of my life! Well done! Your animation skills are amazing! The music was also top notch! Absolute perfection from beginning to end! Thank you!

This was absolutely the best Mario animation I’ve seen in a long time. The facial expressions, the silent comedy, the use of music a la the Mario Movie… the animation was so fluid, and cartoonish at the same time! This level of dedication and high quality is honestly on par with the Mario movie. Bravo!
No matter how many times we(players) threw off that baby penguin...it was always just a matter of time before mama penguin would eventually come to make us suffer like how we did to the baby.
The fact you made all the music go along with the moments in video, AND kept it at an orchestra level is absolutely impressive. Writing short bursts of music that constantly change can be absolutely brutal.
It's your opinion, but I think it's definetely not better than the Mario movie. They both look really good but they made the movie in 9 years or so and he made this small animation in a few months. But of course Gearbills has done amazing work!!
Such a well made animation. The characters were so bouncy and expressive, like a Saturday morning cartoon. Well done! And the fact that the penguin is getting it's revenge on Mario all these years later is very funny.
This is the most amazing Mario animation I've ever seen! It's hilarious too! Nintendo cannot be at this, never will! Oh, and most imprtantly, PENGUIN JUSTICE AND PRESENCE!!!
Here after the premier, The choreography in the slide was absolutely amazing, You've improved a LOT with the environments since last time, Amazing sequel!!! 💛💛💛
Gotta say, you got great animating skills and style. I loved every part of it, especially everytime Mario helplessly looked at the camera XD Also noticed those smoke rings after the cannons fired (even if they lasted 2 frames), little details like that show how much love you put into these animations. Keep it up! A revenge well served ;)
Thank you so much! I love when people look at the small details! The smoke rings alone took me some time to get right, so I'm happy to see it didn't go unnoticed!
I love the implications at 0:31 implying that the reason the baby penguin kept coming back (and how Mario came back that one time) was because it just went through the painting back at the castle because falling down sent them back.
An absolute masterpiece!! The animation itself and synchronization with music are so perfect! Even after rewatching it over and over again out of admiration and hilarity, there are so many subtles details that can unfairly be missed, such as at 2:48 when the Penguin mother raises her eyebrows at the exact same pace of the trombones of the soundtrack. That video deserves to be brought to the attention of any fan of Nintendo and/or animation in general! Hats off!
At 2:35 (My favorite part) I love the detail of Mario's hands winding down while spinning after hitting the second ice block. I'm glad you received 1.1M views for your hard work!
I would like to think that if you put Chris Pratt's voice to Mario, Changing Mario's model to Movie Mario's in this animation it would be like a scene from a future Mario movie, And also, we need all music of this masterpiece
THIS IS SHOCKINGLY AMAZING!!! The animation, the music, the set design... EVERYTHING!! Love how this feels like a classic cartoon like the Looney Tunes! Also its really interesting to see Mario with a Bugs Bunny type of personality, although this was more like when Bugs faces off against Cecil or the Gremlin. Please continue to make more passion-filled projects like this!
I wish Nintendo didn't waste things like this. I love how well animated it is, if it were longer it would easily pass as a movie due to the quality it has and the love with which it is created.
I love the rubberhose animations. The Tom And Jerry antics. The expressions. The lighting, the movement, the artstyle. I love everything about it. Excellent job. I can't praise it enough.
I love this! Watching both the first part and second part together REALLY makes it feels like a complete episode of a mario cartoon. The first one sets up Mario as the antagonist excellently, while the second one gives cathartic retribution against the antagonist... just like in a classic loony tunes short!
This is like a Mario movie levels of animation! Every fluid movement feels so alive, the music fits the perfectly and the fight scene with the mother penguin is great, I like this show!

Dude that animation was epic. Seriously I've had that model for years and tried to animate with it a lot but that is just a whole new world. Good luck
