    The included instructions didn’t show how to string the line through the locking mechanism so your close-up of this is VERY helpful - thank you!

    This might work if you have a Corvette. Most people nowadays buy trucks and SUVs. But thanks for showing how this works.

      A Toyota Highlander fits under these bikes, but I agree that a truck or full size SUV wouldn't.

      @@projectreaDIYI wouldn't have thought. What do you recommend more, this or these utility hooks to hang bikes from? Supposedly they can hold up to 100 lbs

    Got two for Christmas. I’m thinking of adding a pulley to the wall to keep the rope closer to the wall though.

    • @OGRH
      @OGRH 8 месяцев назад

      Maybe just put a loop on the wall so that the rope has to go through it... don't know how this would affect ease of balancing, but it's a thought.

    • @chrisharris9115
      @chrisharris9115 8 месяцев назад +2

      I ended up going the cheap route and put an eye anchor in the stud on the wall. Gave the rope more room side to side.

      @OGRH 8 месяцев назад

      @@chrisharris9115 right on I was thinking something to that effect... how is it working for you?

      By the way, I don't know if it's after the fact or not, but for inside track club members they are going for seven dollars and something /pop until the fourth of this month... I picked up the last three they had in stock today and just need one more.

    These came with the house I bought a few years ago. I tried using them and realized they sucked, but wondered if it was just me.
    It’s not me.

    Nice! Now all I need is a $400,000 house with a 12 foot ceiling in the garage.

    Can those bike hoists handle a 70 lbs electric bike?

      This one not but there's a version for e bikes with higher weight rating and it's twice the price. Same principle, just sturdier.

      Don’t need a ceiling. If you have a roof, then you should have trusses, which is what these pulleys are screwed into, so you should be fine. You wouldn’t screw it into a ceiling, it wouldn’t likely hold the weight. Your screws are passing THROUGH the ceiling and into the truss, if you have a ceiling. If no ceiling, then go directly into the truss.
      If somehow you don’t have trusses, then I guess I can’t help, I’m only familiar with truss roof construction.

    I wish my garage had drywall

    • @scottsw25

      Add some! We bought my house while it was being built and had them not finish the garage to save some $. We ended up running electrical on our own (with my father in laws help) and doing insulation and tongue and groove pine boards for the walls. It was a little more expensive than drywall and definitely more labor intensive but it came out great

    • @emersonb5764
      @emersonb5764 22 дня назад

      Me too, but this bike lift doesn’t require drywall. It wouldn’t be benefitted by drywall in any way really.
