When karna again asked that he is helping his friend, durjyodhan,lord krishna says "friend is a person who uplifts you, not use you for his gain,If duryodhan was your friend ,he would have given right to education to all lower caste people like karna,".Karna got satisfied with answers to his questions and happily accepted his death,when arjun was still confused as to why karna is smiling when he knows that he is going to die.
