Rowling didn't know Christmas is actually Yule, but Lego is trying to avoid as much stereotyping as possible, and their most recent is trying to fix how they interpret witches. (We don't have green skin.) While Santa Claus isn't technically a Pagan thing, there could be exceptions. Additionally, it'd be more accurate to include a Krampas figure, however I'm sure there's still a ton of Christian parents causing wars on the Lego forum as is...
Not only the colors of ravenclaw are wrong (well the bronze, the blue is good), but even the house crest is wrong! The animal for ravenclaw is an Eagle, not a raven!
Great review. I like that you opened each one by one and shared your opinion- the good and and bad. I also think the chess board and architect are cool. Not sure yet whether I'll buy. I've already ordered the Harry Potter Funko pop advent calendar tho.
I will agree, i was getting sick of the star wars advent calenders. This is a nice change of pace. Plus my daughter and i are huge Potter fans. But, i'm disappointed in the included pieces, they could have done better, especially the house color flags. I was hoping for some of the Christmas cracker gifts, like set exclusive hats for the characters.

Might just be the strongest Advent Calendar this year. It's crazy how good an advent calendar of a specific theme can vary year after year.
