    Very helpful and well done. I am building my first Proxmox to host a Pi-Hole, and really appreciate you taking the time to put this together.

    Excellent video and walkthrough!! Perfectly paced and level of information shared for somebody like me trying out EXSI, XenServer and now Proxmox!! This was exactly what I need to fill in just a couple blanks that weren't already intuitive in their GUI. You video was the first one I watched on this...I didn't even look for 'official' ones on their site and glad I didn't waste time doing that. I am interested in the GPU passthrough though, because I'm looking to add a GPU to the R710 PowerEdge I have (or at least I hope to find that will work in this older gear). Great work!!

    Hi everyone, I'm trying to install Proxmox on my Dell R730xd server, but I'm encountering an error during the boot process. It gets stuck on "Loading initial ramdisk..." and then goes blank. I've tried different versions of Proxmox (8.2, 8.1, 7.4, and 6.4) and followed several troubleshooting steps, including ensuring UEFI boot is enabled and secure boot is disabled, but I haven't had any luck. If anyone has experience with this or could offer some guidance, I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks!

    How do you setup a vm that can be accessed at a different location? Does it need to be setup with vpn to access my network to access the vm?

    • @credibledev
      @credibledev  Год назад

      You would need to expose it through port forwarding or some other mechanism and have a Remote Desktop service running on it.

    so if I use containers , it shares my hardware between all my containers, and i don't have to allocate hardware just to one container? so if I have 3 containers running it's like running 3 programs at once all on the one pc / hardware?

      No, it would just have easier access to the underlying hardware of the host than a full VM.

    proxmox cannot be installed on bare metal. It requires a kernel which in this case is linux.
