I'm so chuffed, after following your house design I made a hedgehog house a on the first two nights out it was visited and showed signs of nesting in the straw 🥰🥰

Look forward to watching your video on the new camera. As hedgehogs visit my garden this would be beneficial to me.

We had a few hedgehogs activities in our garden last year and the years before. In spite of having food and water, this spring/summer 2022 they all disapeared one after the other for their own reasons 😢. I don't know what happened. So nice to see yours coming to get installed in your boxes for their hibernation 🥰🥰😍🦔🦔

I have had a number of hedgehogs visit my garden since 12th March, I am overjoyed as not seen any since early September 2021 when badger(s) came into my garden! Not know if any using my hedgehog homes. I have not seen any hoglets this year. I too have nature camera(s). H. x

Enjoyed the video and I’m wondering what that hedgehog is planning to do with that bowl that it took into the house! I noticed that you’ve changed over to using a wi-fi camera, but are there any battery operated wildlife cameras that you’d still recommend? I bought one that you recommended previously, but shortly after the warranty period expired it developed a problem and now only works intermittently.

      HI Tony,
Thanks for the comment, and I am sorry to hear that the camera you have has been performing intermittently.
I know you've said it is out of warranty, but if you haven't already, I would still suggest contacting the manufacturer to see if they can assist you - they may provide a discount on a new camera, or similar type of arrangement.
With regard new cameras, I am afraid I do not have any specific suggestions. What I have noticed is that many of the cameras I had suggested appear to have disappeared from sale, are no longer available or seem to have been replaced by other models. Unfortunately then I do not have any suggestion.

I’ve been watching my garden wildlife at night. I’m using a battery operated camera, it’s on Amazon, Voopeak is the name. Roughly €45.

Get kitten biscuits that are meal based (rather than cereal). They are cheap and good for hedgehog's and they like them. Hedgehogs have small mouths so kitten biscuits rather than cat biscuits are best.

Looking for some advice - I made a hedgehog house and a male hog has moved in. I put a camera facing the doorway to watch his comings and goings, but he seems to go back into the house for 30-60 minutes multiple times throughout the night - is this normal? I expected him to come out, mooch around all night, then go back in at dusk, but I've recorded him going back to bed 6-8 times in the same night. It may not have any bearing, but he's also very itchy.

That’s normal. They nap in between meals
