Right now, it's totally legal, but that may change. AI creates based on existing works but offers up new works. The artists are understandably upset, but it's a progression and is legal. You can change one ingredient in a popular protein bar and market your own. Same difference.
The two main problems that art generating ai like Mid-journey fails to solve are 1. Open up their image stock and make sure the creators who did the artwork AGREED on their works for being used as a database 2. Pay the creators commission every time their artwork are used when generating an ai art And I wouldn’t consider typing some keywords, making ai generate an artwork using other ppl’s hard work effort. Yes, u can change the ingredient in a protein bar and sell that but remember u PAY for the ingredients and put effort in processing the whole thing not just type a few keywords generating art from other ppl’s work without their consent.
I think I’ll dedicate myself to learning how to utilize Ai. All the options have narrowed it down to Ai. Maybe. We’re all watching this for a reason lol, let’s get it

Using Midjourney?!…prepare to be sued somewhere down the road. All Midjourney does is hoover up existing digital art then spews out a ‘hybrid’ of them. Many artists are getting pissed off with this and there are LOTS of lawsuits, most of which are being won by the artists that are bringing them for copyright infringements. Oh, and BTW most copyright infringement cases are usually settled in the six figure categories, so, erm, good luck! 😂🤣
