Barb vs Merc? Any Merc build recommendations? Is it viable dmg wise? I kinda hate the way Barb looks and how everyone and their mom uses Barb nowadays. Want to try something different.
Believe it or not barb was very underused in comparison to merc up until recently. But ap merc + HD merc are really strong. Both being able to hit very high damage and are viable on all levels of the game including 350+ in survival.
I use to have ap merc built back in the day but a lot has changed since including some bug fixes. But I can potentially get my buddy to send me the setups for them both and forward it to ya.

Yeah, basically the only reason no one was using light on offhand before was because everyone had ice chip wihch dropped on frostbane at medium swing speed. But technically your swing speed only goes off your mainhand's weapon. So using 1 light and 1 heavy won't make a difference.
Why health on chest if using resolute armour? With coup de grace instead of bulwark would it maybe be better to do crit chance on godly rolls? Sorry I understand there’s a lot in these questions
I'm not 100% sure about how resistances and overkilling works. So, using coup de grace will put me over 2b TTT. I have a pinned message saying to use it if you like but I'm just sketched out by going over 2b because of overflow. As far as resolute armor goes, it's to bump that TTT damage. Because you'll instantly heal back all the damage taken.
@arkanerbek2814 Yep, this is by far the strongest way to build a barb. If you check the most recent video I have on 994, you can see it nearly 1 hits everything in end game.
@HarambeDD2- I like to play Barb with my Gilded Turtle Stance active (invincible vs Asassin's and Drakenlord's shield ), i wouldnt need tenacity then, right? I know it won't protect vs Yeti's, but couldnt my Barb be more powerfull using a different mod, in place of the tenacity one? If so what mod chip would be best?
Unfortunately, turtle stance won't be very useful in end game. The amount of damage loss from swapping to turtle alongside the inconvience of having to time it perfectly won't outdo the QoL from tenacity. If you were to go that route then you can swap out tenacity for healthy power.or light chip.

@@Gr_ywind unfortunately I really hate the ap engineer playstyle. So I'm sticking to the gunwitch and countess for my ap heroes. But definitely give him a try. HD engi is really strong too
@@harambedd2 Just got him yesterday but a quick glance makes him seem clunky at best. Can't blame you for not giving up on the GW, the utility alone is hard to give up. What are the upsides of Ap Countess? I just use her for nests and resets thus far really. Ngl, just got back into it after a few years afk and I'm in the weeds. 🤣
@@Gr_ywindshe has her 3rd ability which is a dash. She's 100% immune to damage during this ability. So it's REALLY good for nuking things in a line. Especially rollers.

@robthebuilder8624 you should still be able to outheal with half and half in both. Just gotta make sure lightening stance is your primary stance and siphon is your secondary stance.
How come a 13/20 draining strikes makes turn the tides deal more damage then higher ones? Since the damage you deal with turn the tides is still limited by how much health you are losing and from doing some testing myself 13/20 was always the worst of the 3 and gilded having the highest numbers
It has to do with the healing from AP. I can get the exact detailed explanation from arti if you'd like, but (before godly) with no draining strikes you could hit around 1.63B, with no siphon stance, it's 1.49B, with gilded draining strikes it'lkl be 1.1B and with draining strikes 13/20 it's 1.66B. If I remember correctly it is all about priority healing.
This is the fully explaination of it: The way heals are calculated for TTT is a little special, it takes the entire heal amount into account even if you heal less, so let's say you are missing 100k hp, if you trigger a heal of 500k, TTT will use that 500k instead of the 100k. So each lightning stance hit would make you lose 8% of max hp, with: No Draining Strikes Each swing heals for 3.5% max hp + hp healed from Ancient Lifesteal. (but lose Damage Buff bonus) Draining Strikes 13/20 Each swing heals for +-7% max hp + hp healed from Ancient Lifesteal. Gilded Draining Strikes (or any value greater than 129% shown on the shard) Each swing heals for 9.73% max hp, no heal from Ancient Lifesteal, since you would be at full hp after (Siphon Stance heal triggers before Ancient Lifesteal heal).
@@ImAUltraNova Check the last message for the explanation :) basically long story short a gilded one will overheal as lifesteal only happens when there's health to be healed, and you want that to be calculated into the TTT proc. But because a higher than 13/20 draining will heal you to full, it won't let your AP points get calculated into it. So underhealing with it will allow room for your AP to proc and add in more heal to overheal you which means more TTT damage.
Ap engineer > barb > merc > ap gunwitch in my opinion, because of lane clearing consistency. But ap gunwitch is the only one of the 4 that can easily clear out air lanes when the other 4 can't do much if they're too high.
All jokes aside, it's about scalers. Scalers give or take damage from heroes. Some are better because of this and some aren't as good. But shards tend to balance things a bit. Same with passive/stance buffs.
@@harambedd2 another thing that I wanted to know also is how drenching strikes 38% chance to drench calculates when combined with something else that also has a chance to drench, example: drenching strikes and ring of water (68% chance to drench?) or drenching strikes and thunderstruck or all 3 together? Does the chance get added together or something else?

It doesn't self proc on the self inflicted damage. So you can't consistently proc it.

@arkanerbek2814 having petrified and other stuns in the same setup, will stack DR, which will make enemies unstoppable extremely quickly.

Hey, why not counter-attack instead of damage buff? Is it that bad?
Counter-attack cannot be consistently proc'd but damage buff has 100% uptime due to the stances.
