That friend recently died at the age of almost 103 years old and I very much miss his friendship. I wish he could have given me his travel photos which I hope his family kept.

Koh Mak is definitely on my list to go - we by passed it and went to Koh Kradan for a few days. That was a nice place to relax but a few days was enough there. Off season is very quiet and not many supplies on the island in the off season. Definitely going to check out islanda resort too - a little luxury is nice now and then.
