Yeah, and their BBC Symphonic orchestra is probably the best free vst for making orchestral drill beats or anything with classical instruments really. Only God knows how long I spent looking for a good cello sound on these types of synths before I got it.
I think if you are coming from a producer and not sound designer perspective, this list makes a lot of sense. Otherwise some things like Serum would be even higher.
Yeah, like @Graut said, this is from the perspective of a beatmaker. If my intention is to make beats, easily finding sounds to make a beat is going to be more important. Whereas if this was from the perspective of a sound designer, this list would be vastly different
@@NavieD thats why most beatmakers are trash with no personality. They use presets which are used by many people and they never build character to their style and thats what differs successful producers and EDM producers
@@zanex3270 thats just completely false imo. Most people that use presets manipulate them quite a bit, whether that be in the plugin itself or with post processing. Absolutely wrong. The 3x Osc does basic sine wave 100% right. What you're referring to is artifact called "aliasing", that chirping effect when you are using other waveforms than sine in this synth, and it's very noticeable when playing high notes. It's removed after rendering a song or pattern. Aliasing is encoded into 3x Osc itself in order for it to use less CPU. Recent update of FL actually includes an HQ button in 3x Osc, which enables "anti-aliasing in real-time" option thus getting rid of these weird artifacts.
@@nickcollins9893 The point was just that it wasn't clean and I didn't know why, since other plugins didn't have noticeable aliasing. How computationally hard is a sine wave? Lol. Iota mini is the vst i would recommand for a beginner producer. It's free and it has really good sounds for trap, but you can't manipulate them (only reverb & cutoff)
Oooh I don't think I have seen this mentioned anywhere. I am gonna check it out, thanks Luc!
I actually clicked to find out why omnisphere was rated B.

Would've liked to see Nexus on here but otherwise nice list 👌
Thank you Beanzy! Where would you rank Nexus?
@@NavieD Definitely A tier 💯
@@NavieD B tier honestly. Sucks for beats as most of the sounds are geared towards EDM production.
