Thank you, I think I’m gonna get a ton of wear out of it. And of course I already wanna make a second one. I wish I had better ponte fabrics available to me to buy in person. Do you think you’ll make it?
Just found your channel while looking for a Metra Blazer sew along. I just googled a needle board and they are selling for near $250.00 dollars now that is inflation at its best 😂😂 Thank you for the tips on printing the pattern.
It looks great on you! Great job. Just like you, I also watched Karina’s video, which helped tremendously. My first Metra, I didn’t do any changes, but felt it was a little short. My second, I lengthened the sleeves by 1” and the body by 1.5”, it came out perfectly. 😊😊
First I have to say that color looks fabulous on you! I’ve had this pattern since it came out but haven’t made it yet. I have a faux denim scuba picked out. I’ve not sewn with scuba before so I appreciate your tips and trials on working with it. This was an excellent pattern review. There is so much help out there for Love Notions patterns between their channel, Facebook page, ambassadors and testers channels and your channel too. Your Metra Blazer turned out just lovely in the end. Wear it proudly! Thanks for sharing ❤
Love the fabric you selected abs that color is stunning! How funny we both watched the lifting pins and needles video...I could not have managed without it 😂
I think your jacket is lovely - that colour is gorgeous on you! I made the Metra in a scuba a couple of years ago and I agree with you - Scuba is a pain to press and sew with. When I make the Metra again, I think I’ll use a Ponte. Now I’m off to check out the Umbrian Sewist’s version! 🇨🇦💞
Great job in persevering and courage on new fabrics. My tall friend loves Sinclair patterns for their tall pattern pieces. Try their free Harper cardigan. Best pattern ever! The tall work is done for you. Happy Thanksgiving.
I'm 5'8" and just know right out of the gate that I have to lengthen EVERY pattern. EVERYONE. Even the sleeves if it's a long sleeve. It's usually the first thing I do before laying it out. I found a great fast way to lengthen them that you might find helpful. I use graph paper that's ¼" squares. I bought a desk blotter years ago that I used for designing my own quilt blocks that I find helpful for adding my standard 1½-2" length to everything. I recently found a huge pad of graph paper in the "back to school" section couple months ago. I bought two. That should keep in supply for awhile.
Is this fabric from JoAnns? I think I sewed with the same fabric. Mine was from JoAnns. Yes, took forever to press. I used a press cloth over and under many times plus the clapper, like you. I made the Style Arc Kristen, a very simple sheath dress which I’ve made many times. Each time I tweak it some. Understitching on this kind of fabric is key to making it turn and lay correctly. I didn’t try any topstitching. Loved your video and loved the color of your blazer! Only us sewers scrutinize our me-makes like we do! Thanks for sharing your expertise.
This is a lovely well drafted comment 👏. Yes, it from JoAnn and I have details in the description. I just looked up the Kirsten, that looks so enticing! Do you style it with tights?
A lovely jacket. I like both collars that you and Marissa have made.
We agree! I am tempted to make the other collar. It lays in the perfect spot on Marissa's version.
Your ending segment reminded me of Carol Burnett with her broom and turning off the lights. Thanks for the heads up on “pick the right fabric”.
That’s what it felt like! Those guys were hilarious!
I love your Blazer it is a fab colour too x

I love you Izzy, you always have the kindest comments! I’m definitely going to make it from a lovely ponte next, should we make it for our daughters??

Thanks for the tips! I almost made the Tuva in tall by Sinclair. There are just too many great patterns to choose!

Yes I style with tights and a cardigan.
Her name is Karina, not katrina
Ok
