that's part of it, but i think the real beauty is that it's not a story of hope, not a story of surviving against all odds. it's a doomed story from the very start, and the game literally tells you that right when you load in for the first time in a new game. "this is how you died." there's no chance to outlast the apocalypse for you. all it will take is one stroke of bad luck at the wrong time, and you're just another walking corpse in the hordes. maybe someone can outlast it, probably hidden in a bunker or something, but you aren't making it past the apocalypse.
@@GinaRanTruthEnforcer I only had one character realistically get to that point, barricaded up in the farm north of Muldragh. Constantly fighting off illness, spending days burying corpses from zeds that occasionally wander onto the property, dreading when the generator will run out of gas, thus causing the frozen food to spoil and having to rely on the canned stuff, and hoping THAT will last until spring and the farming can begin, but even if it does, what's the point....damn, there's a reason I say this is the best zombo apoc game out there.
@@f1fanatic241 that's true. we just need to make the most of what time we have. a saying i've heard floating around goes like this: life is only precious because it ends.
When NPCs are added, it'd be cool if you or another group could setup a crude broadcast which covers all of Knox County. From there you could encourage survivors to come find you, ask other communities to come trade with you, etc. It could even be used as a bandit/cannibal trap, like the airforce base broadcasts.
quality pixel art games have this tendency, since the artstyle is timeless and scales to whatever resolution you are playing (as long the engine supports it off course)
But it hasn't "aged". It's only improved. It's been in beta since it's inception, they are changing, adding and improving things constantly. Even the graphics are new, I remember watching Robbaz play it in like 2013 and it looked wholly different
I kinda wish there was a radio channel opposite to this, like there was a radio channel from someone who was finding the Apocalypse fun. Because you know the more hardcore and paranoid of the preppers would just be laughing their ass off after being proven right, gunning down zombies with the ammunition they've been hoarding for the past 15 years. I'd envision it as boosting your happiness (who doesn't like to listen to zombies get torn apart by automatic rifle fire?) And possibly even giving buffs to learning various skills (kinda like a " for all those listening, here's what I've found out works" sorta thing) as well.
Realistically, I’d imagine a lot of people would be adverse to hearing the reanimated corpses of their neighbors and friends being rended to shreds by a psychotic gun nut. Best way to survive an apocalypse is to avoid danger, not waste all your ammo just to broadcast it for an ego boost.
@@friendist9323yeah but there would 100% be some psycho who did that. Who cares if anyone's hearing it? It's the apocalypse so the guy wouldn't even know lmao
Rick from the Walking Dead, I believe the show, but I know in the comic. Used to carry around a radio in which he could talk to Lori on after she died. Would be cool to see Zomboid explore mental stability. Perhaps a mentally strong, and mentally weak trait that adds a multiplier to these sort of events occuring. Imagine after the NPC update, forming a small faction of maybe 3 or 4 people. They all die, each subsequent characters death affects your characters "mental stability." And then being alone AFTER experiencing so much trauma only adds to the multiplier. And then low and behold, on your radio, your old "faction members" and friends, perhaps family attempt to contact you on the radio. Perhaps panicking your character. You remove the batteries. "... Hello." "*Insert character's name*... You let us die... You left us..." PANIC
I played this game religiously before but somehow when I got a warehouse base, I had a sudden bout of loneliness. I got this huge ass base but I’m alone with hundreds of dead bodies outside. I’ve never felt so lost and lonely going in and out of my base after a trip of gathering supplies. Ultimately, I closed the game and then never had the urge to come back again. So S+ to Zomboid for realism! Actually made me feel like I’m in the game as a lone survivor. I’ll definitely come back when NPCs are added to the single player mode.
I would love to just have a bunker filled with these radios and lure people in (provided the effects stack) so my deaf character just watches them fall apart emotionally
Saw it on the wiki recently while looking at all the radio/TV transmissions since I know I can't catch all of them. Good to see someone bring this message to light haha.
So maybe this is why there was one time my character was do anxious. I couldn't relate it to the game I played though coz he's already killed about 100 zeds by then. It shouldn't have been a surprise at that point.
Well, if you think about it your character is immune to the airborne strain and obviously hasn't been bitten (or at least hasn't turned) at this point. Could be the news of exactly how the infection spreads that does it, or the news that they can't escape even if they flee Knox County. Maybe even wondering if they really are immune, or if it's only a matter of time until it gets to them too.
@@jamstheshapeshifter My train of thought goes when the military panics, they tend to shoot 'coz that's what they do. They're not cops. The worst case is you have to scout a military post and see if they're calm or in a state of panic. If they're panicking, don't approach, and let their nerves settle. I mean I guess you have a point in that if you were hoping the military could save you, you would feel betrayed.
It's because the character likely thinks they just need to hold out in order to be saved but nobody is coming to help, the military who is the only hope to stop something like this will gun them down if spotted
Would be cool if you're doing the Black Ops profession mods (you parachute in fully kitted, with a mission to destroy sensitive materials at a top secret research facility, then extract) you could cryptically respond to the guy on a 2-way, saying, "I know."
I have never played or even heard about project zombiod until I watched this video and now I’ve been binging ur whole channel and watching more videos about zomboid lmao. This game seems really cool
It's slightly dumb that this causes your character to panic. I get that it's an easter egg but like... Your character is in the Exclusion Zone too. They know the dead are rising by the point you hear this.
I think it's because this message is basically the guy saying "the snipers are attracting the hordes, the apocalypse is spreading". Which is true, civilization ends up collapsing. The fact that the rest of the world is fucked is not comforting
I swear one of these happened on the radio. To my smoker character. He was listening to the radio, took a snoke to take that anxiousness off, then this thing played and his anxiosness SHOT UP to terrified and i had to immediately smoke again.
This game is making me nervous and worried because it passed a week by now, and all tv channels and radios ceased bringing new informations It makes me think that... its all gone There is no point in surviving anymore, just put a end to my suffering but I gotta keep going on
I have my game set so when zombies die, they die. They cannot magically respawn. A finite zombie population. The only way more can appear is if my survivor gets turned. I'm trying to hunt them all down, kill 'am all, and free myself of the hell that was thrust upon me. * Doom music intensifies *
I dont know much about the game, but this transmission makes me think that this is some sort of government mandated experiment hence the name Project Zomboid and also because they have snipers around. Idk though, Id love to play the game but I dont have a PC
I like when news broadcasts and radio messages affect your moodles. I just wish they did it more. Having 90% of the most demoralizing news broadcasts make you happy and not bored just doesn't sit right with me. Even as a cosmetic (since it has no function) anger moodle appearing when you hear how the government is covering it up. Like, 'no evidence of fatality' should just make your character angry. That's just my two cents anyway
I wish you could record these broadcasts to replay at a later date, or were able to find a newstation that had all these broadcasts you could load onto vcrs for yourself to play at a later date.
I've harshly began falling into Project Zpmboid Thanks to TWO RUclipsrs... And it all happened because i ran out of Episodes of "The Owl House". Without it, i need another Piece of Media to fill the Endless void that is my Soul. AND I THINK THAT I FOUND THE PERFECT FIT! :D ZOMBIES, MYSTERY, LORE, LOTS OF ITEMS, AND CUSTOM CHARACTERS? Cha Ching! :D
Man I can't wait for the npc update to come, imagine randomised dynamic survivor groups that are spread throughout the world and the way find them is buy listening to radio messages or by finding locations that are marked on maps
Are there any broadcasts here and there long after the start? Kinda a shame the broadcasts seemed to have ended .. would be cool if there could be broadcasts here and there if you keep scanning the frequencies. I've been doing that every now and then randomly one by one but .. is it a waste of time? Is there never anything again?
It's kind of odd that the military checkpoint with the sniper towers is so chill. Almost no zombies in that bit. Only a bit over a 100 in an entire cell and lots of ammo. It's the one place with LOTS of loot where they didn't cram a lot of zombies that I can think of. You'd expect that the snipers would have attracted a lot of zombies, but they're all chilling in the Hospital and on the Intersection a tiny bit north...
It would be amazing if long term, project zomboid had itself a vast array of story paths to choose from based on what you see hear and do. Like, people asking for rescue, people offering shelter, maybe a collection of clues you can put together to solve the mystery of whats going on and whats behind it. The chopper event can be an early game over or a win if you setup a landing area cleared for arrival it can come pick you up. If you didnt clear it out well enough the zombies swarm you on the escape attempt and well, you know what happens then. All sorts of events take place that can give you something to do like finding a den of cannibalistic survivors and having to deal with them plus all the noise bringing in zombies. Or maybe you find a decent crew and agree to help them out with supplies in exchange for whatever. Or you ignore everything, live your life as you see fit and make a long term sandbox game out of it instead.
I doubt the helicopter would land to pick you up. They're already bending the rules by being *in* the exclusion zone, who knows what'll happen if they help someone escape it
They got snipers and The noise attracts the dead. Ngl that means a horde of a very large size would be able to overrun that quarantine like its nothing with all that gunfire going on
As an admin, I've made for my players a few places that had some interesting notes and loot to find (and it was dangerous too). Wish there were more things like this.
In "your" exclusion zone... like... there are more? (not regions firstly affected by the disease but exclusion zones that were sealed off) discomforting.....
Did you originally say "In your exclusion zone" or something but change it? Cause like- I have NO clue why people in the comments are saying that when it clearly says "The exclusion zone"
That is surprisingly creepy. I really like as expecting you to jumpscare at the end, if only to break the tension. That being said, I hope they add more more like this. Very nice.
I was under the impression that in the US, terrestrial radio stations had to end in an odd number in the tenths place. (e.g. 107.5 or 107.7 would be valid, but not 107.6). Guess that's confirmation this game is taking place in an alternate dimension.
I think this is referencing a creepypasta called "The Government is hiding a new disease, people are turning." which describes this very event happening, but in a different perspective from the one given here. I wont spoil anything incase someone wants to read or listen to it.
Hello, has it happened to anyone that on the emergency transmission frequency, there is a person asking for help? It just happened to me right now when I comment on this and I've been surviving for about 5 months. Does anyone know if this is some kind of vanilla event?
Okay but why would this make them panic? Already encountered dozens of zombies, then some dude on the radio is like "Hey zombies are real!" "Holy shit I thought they were all just wasted!"
As other comments have already said, it's probably the reason that our characters realize that the army is killing anyone who tries to leave the Exclusion Zone, etc. instead of helping us get out, etc., etc.
Is awalys the 107.6 frequency. You can only hear this broadcast in the video in the morning of 12 of july in game. If you miss it? Well create a new word because is never gonna play again. wait, so in the lore. people outside the game area dont actually know whats happening in the area? they dont know about zombies? i find that hard to believe. one satellite image and everythings exposed. 1 drone is all it takes. the army would have to seal miles and miles and even then, some publicly available telescopes will be able to just let people see. and for what? let people know about the zombies so they can prepare. its not like people are going to get that the army is protecting them from zombies.
the game is set in 1993. and from what it appears in the Project Zomboid universe there was never any zombie media, etc. and yes people dont know. till day 14 15 and 16 of july and F to the entire planet earth at the beginning of the second week in the game

that's part of it, but i think the real beauty is that it's not a story of hope, not a story of surviving against all odds. it's a doomed story from the very start, and the game literally tells you that right when you load in for the first time in a new game.
@@GinaRanTruthEnforcer tbh that’s just life in general. Each of our lives will abruptly come to a halt someday.
I think it's incredible how well this game has aged considering it's almost 10 years old
quality pixel art games have this tendency, since the artstyle is timeless and scales to whatever resolution you are playing (as long the engine supports it off course)
They basically reworked the game several times over
But it hasn't "aged".

@@friendist9323 To go along with what you said, it would be nice to have at one point the prepper dying our if carelessness.
Also cool pfp.
The Top Gear of the apocalypse, if you will
@@friendist9323yeah but there would 100% be some psycho who did that.
They all die, each subsequent characters death affects your characters "mental stability."
And then being alone AFTER experiencing so much trauma only adds to the multiplier.
And then low and behold, on your radio, your old "faction members" and friends, perhaps family attempt to contact you on the radio.
Perhaps panicking your character.
You remove the batteries.
"... Hello."
"*Insert character's name*... You let us die... You left us..."
PANIC
Are you gonna talk about Dog Goblin? The VHS tape that makes your character scared?
Dog Goblin? Now I'm intrigued... Do you have any more information pertaining to this?
@@irma9495 it's a terror tape about a group of people summoning the dog goblin. so it doesn't end well it's quite grotesque
I plan on making a video on it soon!
Only the first one, not the sequels. Some of the other non-life and living VHS give small xp bumps as well.
I swear I can never find the 1st tape, I got Dog Goblin 2 and 3 but I've love to know what the OG Dog Goblin says
This message: " good luck survivor, even the army won't help you"
The guy that survive 1000 days in the game
I played this game religiously before but somehow when I got a warehouse base, I had a sudden bout of loneliness.
I got this huge ass base but I’m alone with hundreds of dead bodies outside. I’ve never felt so lost and lonely going in and out of my base after a trip of gathering supplies.
Ultimately, I closed the game and then never had the urge to come back again.
So S+ to Zomboid for realism! Actually made me feel like I’m in the game as a lone survivor.
I’ll definitely come back when NPCs are added to the single player mode.
Oh that'd really get to me, too. I have a hard time exploring in games without NPCs in the world(s)
If anything, this would make me depressed. Stuck in a God-Forsaken county with no way out.
There's always a way out, and those snipers won't last forever.
@@The_Custos They’ll last until I find a sniper rifle of my own.
@@WiseArkAngel it's personal, go short blade.
Even with that many kills, not being able to escape under threat of being gunned down by soldiers is still something to be surprised by
@@jamstheshapeshifter My train of thought goes when the military panics, they tend to shoot 'coz that's what they do.
When this game is finished in 2055 it will include everything you could possibly conceive of
We forget that the world can end for people locally, but others can simply be watching it unfold on the news across the world...
I thought it was due to realizing the military is killing anyone who tries to leave. Which would make anybody panic, really.
*I'm in your exclusion zone.*
I think i encountered something like this on a handheld radio once, it's a random frequency with the text talking about some conspiracy or something
**the escapists 2 lockdown theme starts playing**
This game is making me nervous and worried because it passed a week by now, and all tv channels and radios ceased bringing new informations
It makes me think that... its all gone
There is no point in surviving anymore, just put a end to my suffering but I gotta keep going on
I fucking love this game... the amount of attention to detail is so damn good
this game makes me wish it was a 1:2 scale of the world
This is understandably fear and panic inducing
These kind of messages are top notch world building
I wish you could record these broadcasts to replay at a later date, or were able to find a newstation that had all these broadcasts you could load onto vcrs for yourself to play at a later date.
"attracts the dead", that's why army need to learn how to make Baseball Bat and Spear
radio man: states the obvious

Just to get there and reach the means to broadcast this message should've been a hell of story to tell. Poor exclusion guy :(
I'm in her exclusion zone :(
I've harshly began falling into Project Zpmboid Thanks to TWO RUclipsrs...
And it all happened because i ran out of Episodes of "The Owl House".

Man I can't wait for the npc update to come, imagine randomised dynamic survivor groups that are spread throughout the world and the way find them is buy listening to radio messages or by finding locations that are marked on maps
Just a bit more glitching noise and there we go. *you’ve got clone cop from entropy zero 2.*
What makes this more creepy is the fact I just recently had a dream about a zombie apocalypse which doesn’t help my anxiety at all! :D
Thank you thank you thank you. I have been telling people to check out the news stories in PZ.
My guess is the snipers got overrun, so survivors pushed further, along with the zombies.
They're already bending the rules by being *in* the exclusion zone, who knows what'll happen if they help someone escape it
wont happen
I would absolutely not survive in any situation like that, anxiety would kill me much before the zombies
They got snipers and The noise attracts the dead. Ngl that means a horde of a very large size would be able to overrun that quarantine like its nothing with all that gunfire going on
i have no idea what this is but now, im intrigue
You have a great voice. Subbed
As an admin, I've made for my players a few places that had some interesting notes and loot to find (and it was dangerous too). Wish there were more things like this.

In "your" exclusion zone... like... there are more? (not regions firstly affected by the disease but exclusion zones that were sealed off)

Do you have cotton in your ear and fingers in your eyes? It doesn't say "your".

the message is unsettling but that outfit is nice
"The SECRET Radio Frequency That Causes Your Character to Panic"
Your character: 0_0
Did you originally say "In your exclusion zone" or something but change it?
Cause like- I have NO clue why people in the comments are saying that when it clearly says "The exclusion zone"
Not sure, but the comments are pretty funny
So those random gunshots I seldom hear were snipers shooting zomboids and fleeing humans?
u sound like ur reading out in front of the class lol
fr his delivery sucked lol
This needs a mod to give a good ending.
The government knows about them
That is surprisingly creepy. I really like as expecting you to jumpscare at the end, if only to break the tension.
That being said, I hope they add more more like this. Very nice.
reminds me of RE2 movie: the border scene
One hour? More like, Cower.
Bruh I felt panic by hearing that wtf
I was under the impression that in the US, terrestrial radio stations had to end in an odd number in the tenths place. (e.g. 107.5 or 107.7 would be valid, but not 107.6). Guess that's confirmation this game is taking place in an alternate dimension.
Does it still cause panic if you're using the veteran occupation?
I think this is referencing a creepypasta called "The Government is hiding a new disease, people are turning." which describes this very event happening, but in a different perspective from the one given here. I wont spoil anything incase someone wants to read or listen to it.
Hello, has it happened to anyone that on the emergency transmission frequency, there is a person asking for help? It just happened to me right now when I comment on this and I've been surviving for about 5 months. Does anyone know if this is some kind of vanilla event?
I didn’t think it made the character panic…
*_I’m panicking myself_*
*quivers in red panda onesie*
It would be epic if they put sone more lore in the game
Wait so only Kentucky is infected?
What's the mean of fzzt with black word? I don't know how to get in
we need Matpat
Let's be real, if this ever happened? We probably get the game storyline...
Let's hope people will be more reasonable to one another...
They lied because you're dressed as a furry
Okay but why would this make them panic? Already encountered dozens of zombies, then some dude on the radio is like "Hey zombies are real!" "Holy shit I thought they were all just wasted!"
It’s the idea that the military is shooting down everyone who tries to escape. You’re stuck in the exclusion zone and that’s that.
As other comments have already said, it's probably the reason that our characters realize that the army is killing anyone who tries to leave the Exclusion Zone, etc. instead of helping us get out, etc., etc.
how do you get these anonymous freq.? just strollimg through the world and checking radios?
Yes, most of the radios freq are random each play through for an extra challenge
Is awalys the 107.6 frequency.
You can only hear this broadcast in the video in the morning of 12 of july in game. If you miss it?
Well create a new word because is never gonna play again.
And other secret radio frequency is the 91.2 the Civilian radio.
Etc only this 2 for now till build 42 is out with MANY MORE LORE
@@LegallyinsaneLoL no. only the AEBS frequency is random for each game, while the secret frequencies are always the same in each game, which is 91.2 to 107.6 and 95.0 currently in build 41, there are only these 3 secret frequencies,
(and 95.0 which doesn't stream anything in the game for now. you can only read what it streams on the PZ wiki)
and as the devs said on the Dev blog in build 42, we will now have MANY NEW TV CHANNELS, 6 in total and 1 new radio station, Upper South Radio, which obviously should provide news, and several broadcasts that played and can be heard more late in the PZ Time-Line (i.e. after the first week and the second week etc.), In other words, build 42 will add LOTS OF NEW FREQUENCIES AND NEWSPAPERS LORE "EVERYTHING" AWESOME to the game
*this is what I most want to see in the game when 42 launches...*
Is it really in the game? I doubt it has any actually voiced lines.
Any goats gonna come by with a unlisted frequencies list
91.2 Civilian Radio
107,6 the freq in the video, can only be heard in the morning of 12 of july in game
95.0 Classified M1A1, don't broacast nothing for now, you can only see whats this channel broacast in the wiki of the game
as the devs showed in the build 42 blogs etc, they will add new TV channels 6 in total and 1 new radio station, Upper South Radio is its name, and broadcasts that you can listen to in the game after society has fallen if You're lucky to find them on the right day, the right time of the day in game, etc.

ah yes, this gonna go into my clickbait collection!
its a real thing check out the official project zomboid wiki he just voice acted it
wait, so in the lore. people outside the game area dont actually know whats happening in the area?
they dont know about zombies?
i find that hard to believe. one satellite image and everythings exposed.
