I tell everybody I meet about Yebba and then force them to listen while I watch them react in amazement. It's the least I can do.
Same
Lmao me too 💀😂😂🙌🏽
Currently trying to let as many people in Scotland hear her as is humanly possible, she is absolutely magnificent....
haha man on a mission!
@@darktake1234 like a Jehovah's Witness for Abbey: *knock on people's door, "Hey, have you seen Yebba's Tiny Desk Concert yet?"
Johns mayers version is like a big brother or best friend telling you not to worry…you’ve got this.. it makes you feel braver, ready to take on the world with its bombastic backing drums. Yebbas version wants to encourage with a warm mothers embrace… like when things are already bad but she uplifts you and dries your tears. Both versions offer emotion but this one is like when someone hugs you and your trying not to cry but you do anyway cuz you’ve been through it.
You’ve said it well!!!
Very well said.💕
Perfectly said !
Perfect description
So beautifully put !
everything this woman touches is amazing. she’s such a gem
ruclips.net/video/9yvSa9i2ih8/видео.html
Beautiful 😍
thats right
I mostly agree, but I think this arrangement is mess. Too many modulations. There are so many deeply beautiful moments in it, but it feels ungrounded.
@@smallsignals @Kenneth Mionnet That's what I love about it, personally: it feels like a journey through the process of strengthening your resolve and preparing yourself for the fight ahead. It starts off stable, like a friend or mother offering initial words of encouragement, and the subsequent modulations feel like a musical representation of the uneasiness and anguish that the "worry" can invoke - even while being reassured - because it means that you have to recognize and face that instability head on. But when it all resolves to that gorgeous, simple major at the very end... it's the sudden serenity of finally believing in your ability to conquer the task that lies before you. Not a bombastic "I can conquer the world" feeling, but understanding that no matter how tough it may get, you can take it as it comes and push through.
Really appreciate all the diminished insertions in here. John's original is very Midwest campfire vibes and then here you go throwing in holy ghost baptist transitions 🤣🤣🤣 this is why we keep coming back for Yebba 🤣
Yes GAWD!
It's a hymn.
The original is more of a Celtic vibe, wouldn't really call it campfire vibes
I felt that too... 2:37 felt real gospel to me!!
hahahahahahahahahhahaha holy ghost baptist transitions 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Her voice sounds like an ancient instrument, almost medieval.
Totally agree, you could imagine her voice in the film excalibur !
@@Turbotina73 OMG I see ittt
Aye, she mimes the hurdy gurdy, but gentler on the ear.
her voice is amazing
Yes, the warmth, depth, resonance and glow of ancient wood
Huge props to Mayer for writing an ever-lasting beast of a song. Legendary arrangement by Yebba
I think the arrangement was put together by Francies - the keys player.
Looks like the arranger was the hugely talented James Francies according to the credits.
y'all it was both of them. obviously james is the major component of harmonic structure/key change present but yebba is no slouch and certainly had a ton of input.
When she sings, she speaks to something deep in my bones. She's preaching to me about something I've forgotten about myself, and I need to remember. I always end up a sobbing mess while listening... she's doing God's work. Bless you, YEBBA.
I am brought tears every time I listen to Yebba sing.
!
I know! I just heard the song and I started crying
Im so glad im not the only one crying when listening to her! Her music makes me feel the most human. Her voice is always makes me feel save and feel heard, as if she knows the pain I go through and empathises with it. Also synesthesia makes everything she does look so incredibly beautiful, I wish I could show you!
Like through time.. like I had heard her all my life
HER RUNS ARE SICK ❤ her
Yebba is a huge inspiration to me and I WILL produce a song for her one day.
Amen
Yes you will!!!!
Do iiiiiittttt!!!!
Speak it into existence and claim it , I’m praying and believing in agreement with you !
Claiming that for you!!
Honestly, I feel she is one of the top 5 musicians working today. So underrated, it hurts!
Who underrates Yebba? Nobody who's actually HEARD her.
When I saw Questlove on the drums and Pino on the bass, I jumped in excitement. It’s crazy how Yebba isn’t more famous. One of the best female singers out there.
She's a different breed man, for a certain group of people I guess, She's insanely talented and Amazing... I automatically love everyone that appreciates her artistry lol
Definitely. One of the best singers out there.
I thought I was seeing things when I saw Questlove
Agreed and don't forget mf James Francies
Who else lives in the comment section like me? I put the video on loop, while reading the appreciation and love for Yebba. I’m so obsessed with everything Yebba sing, pure magic!!
🤚
Me too!!!!! Do you even Yebba? Like, I want to ask people sometimes...
Shepherd's Chapel Network !!!!!!! Pastor Murray is an Anointed Servant of GOD who teaches the Word of GOD with Authority!!!!!!!
I'm new here, I just discovered her yesterday. I am in shock and awe, she's absolutely astoundingly incredible and I am confused why she's not the most famous singer in the world. I can't stop listening to her music and crying.
I don't know how she isn't more famous. She should be up there selling more than adele, Beyonce, ari. Her voice, her story, INSANE. That range 😍
I think it has everything to do with vibration. You have to be on another level to "feel" Yebba's singing.
here we go again
Yebba has range with resonance, depth, and excellent control presented with an edge of rawness.
@@lscott9550 I bet we are all HSP’s. I should do a study 😊
She’s exactly where she needs to be
I love how Yebba's Black Gospel background is infused into so many of her songs. I appreciate the fact that Yebba is always respectful of the influence of Black culture upon her voice. Rather than exploit, I think she wants to uplift.
🙏🏾 White Skin Black Soul 🙏🏾
She actually grew up in a white church. But I'm sure she grew up listening to a lot of black gospel. Correct me if I'm wrong this is just info I gathered from pictures she posts and reading some articles.
@@Royalty_girlie I think you're right but she grew up in Memphis so I imagine that influence was all around!
She's a Memphis native with a huge, huge leaning towards the Clark sisters. She's an old soul with a LOT of richness and embraces the soul of her hometown. I like her because she comes by it honestly.
I absolutely love Yebba
She has so much soul. when she sings WOW some songs more than others, but the girl Has It. My mind is phenomenal Go Yebba❤❤ 3:48 3:48
One of Mayer’s best albums behind Continuum.
It's up there with Continuum, for sure.
oh for sure this continuum and battle studies
YAAAAAASSSSS!!!!!! and born and raise!
born and raised and continuum are my top 2
I know it's not a popular take but battle studies is up there
Those ooo’s at the end would rise me from the dead
In a sea of affected, over-the-top, inauthentic-vowel-using female singers, Yebba is a glimmer of hope. She sings the melody, without feeling like she needs to change it, sings purely, doesn't strain, doesn't make extreme facial expressions, doesn't use vibrato where it isn't needed, doesn't push her voice to the limit until it's called for by the energy of the song, because she doesn't need to. And when the energy of the song requires it, she can do all of these things flawlessly. She is so discerning, so sensitive, such an excellent listener. Yebba is truly masterful.
She is definitely a master of her craft! I am in AWE of her musical intelligence.
I’m not even okay??? 😭 Call me dramatic but to live during the same time as Yebba and get to listen and witness her talent?? PRIVILEGE 😭
I feel like I leave earth and fly from galaxy to galaxy whenever I listen to Yebba sing.
Honestly so blown away by her I can’t believe it 😭
as a 65 yr old white guy - YES!!!!!!
It’s not just her voice, which absolutely brings you to tears, but her pianist accompaniment and melodic skill level is off the charts! All her musicians and those e 3 backing vocals she used on Tiny Desk are unbelievable! I hope Yebba can keep those musicians and backing vocals for a very long time. 🎶
That reharm... You KNOW John's having a blast listening to that. Beautiful as always.
It can only be Yebba!
It was always Yebba😭😭❤️❤️❤️❤️
THANKS JOHN MAYER AND YEBBA FOR THIS GEM 💎 💎 💎
The whimsical feel of everything YEBBA does is soooo amazingly comforting.
Okay so Yebba is 100% my favorite artist
A mother’s hug. 🤗
Yebba gave this song bigger wings
Wings!! Love your beautiful word❤️❤️❤️
Took this song to another level. This makes it sound like a classic 👏🏼
thats true
The people who are not here what exactly are they watching ?? ! 🥺 Music has been reborn, our ears have been defiled but the baptism to a new musical devine exaltation has been given through Yebba. Thank you Yebba
You know the arrangement is incredible when you're frantically screen-shotting the sheet music as it flies past on screen
Man!!! That arrangement was KILLING! The substitutions, the cheeky modulations. Just stunning. Hats off to Yebba and James Francies. 😍😍👌
Right?! Beautiful chord progression
The term 'achingly beautiful' comes to mind.
The arrangement will have me bawling for mins at certain times in my life. lol. It’s beautiful!
When Yebba sings it’s like I’m flying in a world of magical colors high in the sky. Those melodies and harmonies are amazing. ✨
I agree.
Just outstanding. Absolutely love what Yebba did here. Cool to see Questlove on drums BUT THEN I saw Pino Pallidino on bass and just lost it!
!!!
They both worked on her album, Questlove posted clips of working on Louie Bag in studio with the team on his instagram
@@kaisersozen this is so incredible to know
Me too. Has to wait for when the camera got to him again, saw the head bobbing - yeah, Pino! Pity on my phone the bass is almost invisible in the mix. Will get headphones on it.
I can’t believe I’m alive at the same time this rare soul is. I honestly feel so blessed to witness such talent
it feels more like a prayer than a song when yebba sings
literally a crime this still doesnt even have 1 million.. clearly a marketing issue rather than a talent issue
Probably one of the few artists out there where the live version is actually better than the recorded.
I am not a religious person, but her voice is holy.
No A.I. is ever going to achieve this level of beauty.
I'm going through a really tough time and this song made me feel snuggled up in a warm blanket. We are so lucky to have this gifted artist in our lives.
Her tone is so beautiful
Imagine hearing this while lying alone in the large grassy plains far far away from the city. Where under a clear blue sky, the gentle breeze runs through the tall grass, calmly swaying, with only its sound filling the soft silence of the environment all around you
Hard to believe this doesnt even have 1 million views...
My emotions are usually very muted and don’t sway that much in any direction, but your music manages to sway me to feel everything. Shoutout to John Mayer, another legend. The album this came from is another 10/10 for introspection
God Bless Mayer for his amazing songwriting skills.
I don't care what she sings... just keep singing! Don't stop!
Time stops when Yebba starts......
This version beautifully spotlights Mayer’s writing talent and makes Yebba sound like an angelic baby formed by the mating of Joni Mitchell and a sixties lounge singing chanteuse (in the best way). Magic we didn’t realize we needed.
Yebba's vocals just take me to another place, she truly has a gift.
What a beautifully layered song. The instrumental was complicated with many moving parts but it was extremely interesting melodically and overall a joy to listen to. I don't know if I've ever heard something such as this. Seriously, I'm in love with the entire production. Thank you to each musician for sharing your talents!
AGREED! It was complex and Beautiful 👏🏼👏🏼❤️
Famous among musicians. Yebba should have soo much more air time .... this is golden ....
Always felt this song had some folk origin that it could really be broadened to a classic. She really pulled the classic out of it.
Turns on the modulation and not a missed note. insane.
this outro got me crying so hard but honestly who's surprised? the voice of an angel
I cry every time she sings. I'm just in awe ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Like literally, I cried. It was a release I didn’t know I needed. I guess I carry worry too…
Sweeeeeet! Those progressions, that melody, and the message hit home!
John Mayer as composer is from another world! This version is the song that I didn’t know that I needed
Lyrics 💖
Close your eyes and clone yourself
Build your heart and army
To defend your innocence
While you do everything wrong
Don't be scared to walk alone
Don't be scared to like it
There's no time that you must be home
So sleep where your darkness falls
Alive in the age of worry
Smile in the age of worry
Go wild in the age of worry
And sing Worry, why should I care?
No you fight is not within
Yours is with your timing
Dream your dreams but don't pretend
Be friends with what you are
Give your heart then change your mind
You're allowed to do it
'Cause God knows it's been done to you
And somehow you got through it
Alive in the age of worry
Rage in the age of worry
Sing out in the age of worry
And sing Worry, why should I care?
Rage in the age of worry
Act your age in the age of worry
And sing Worry, get out of here!
Thank you I love this
Thank you.
love the lyrix
EAR BUTTER
Her live versions of everything is so daggone magical!! I can just never get enough of this woman... ❤
Went from straight up country blues to some kind of neo gospel r&b magic!
this is legit, Pino on the bass, shit just got real!!!
Such a beautiful song. We're alive in the age of worry. Our task is to live through it all. Thank you so much for this.
really nice song
Fucking love this, the arrangement and changes to the melody are insane! 😭 GO YEBBA! Absolutely massive Mayer fan, and boy did this deliver!
When artists put they're own spin on someone else's song it's just miles better than a straight cover. Music is the answer
John Mayer at his lyrical best. I love his original but this comes close. Beautiful voice
Walt Grace is pretty fantastic, too.
@@baldguitardude If we start listing amazing John Mayer songs, we’ll be here all day.
@@baldguitardude Agree.
OH MY GOD. One of my all time favorites and it’s better then the original!? Yebba is heaven and I didn’t want this to end. John is going to faint!
I llllllllllloooooooooovvvvvvve how that bass player keeps time.... makes my day
John Mayer would be proud
Yebba is from heaven..
That's an arrangement !!!
That's how you do modulation, that's surprising all along but it's never too much !
People here are here for her voice (amazing it is !), but let's talk about the music too ;)
That's just great stuff all around.
Yebba is a got dam national treasure & must be protected at all costs. Sweet Lawd she turns everything she touches into gold!
Wow 🌟talk about underrated talent. She is one of the best vocalist rn
I don't understand why this young ladies name is not in every household. She is so talented. Such a beautiful voice.
Never been more addicted to a cover.
When she sang “Worry get out of here” I felt something in my heart 🥺😭
I'm a John Mayer purist. My predisposition is to dislike any covers of his songs. Give me John or give me nothing...
...But this...this is pure heaven. This airy, light arrangement and vocal perfection is everything. EVERYTHING.
Watching these performances makes me feel like we’re part of something special.
Glad to see Pino Palladino on the bass!
This version makes me dance while crying
Listening on repeat as I ring in my thirtieth bday. Couldn’t be more apt. ♥️
She’s my favorite singer.
This is an anthem for anyone feeling lost in life, thank you Yebba 😭❤️
Your tone Is unmatched! I know you probably get tired of compliments, but man I'm so glad for Everything God blessed you with.
I swear to God!!!! Everytime Yebba opens her mouth, only greatness comes tf out of it! SHE IS SO GREAT AT WHAT SHE DOES AND THAT'S WHY WE LOVE HA!
I actually cried she’s amazing
Yebba is the best vocalist I have heard. Congrats YEBBA
She's a joy, absolute Goddess. There's no one on this planet llike her, fullstop.
Every song is good. How is every single song good? She is her own standard, her own genre, among other things. The best of the best.
Her voice is hauntingly beautiful. I listen to her tiny desk concert almost daily. Love!
GOD! She is sooo F-ing Good
I came from John's IG story and I'm not regretting clicking it. What a masterpiece! Beautiful Yebba Beautiful!!!
There is an impossible amount of talent involved in this. It defines being artists
Not sure how it’s possible to take a such great song and make it this much better. Yebba’s got great vision.
James's chord progressions make me believe in humanity again
Yebba is so damn talented. She done and brought soul to folk music, straight outta Narnia!
those modulations blow my mind each time damnnnnn
I love John Mayer, have done since his first EP. This is my favourite song. And Yebba is my favourite new artist. And this is art. The whole thing is next level and that ending….words can’t describe. I just have chills.
Another gorgeous tune to add to my Yebba playlist, which has been on repeat for a couple of years... love that it keeps getting longer and more beautiful with every new release. 🥰
Same!❤️
purrity
What a beautiful deep velvet voice ,such warmth and comfort that's like old friend revisiting
Can she just do every project live? Simply incredible, Yebba.
I STILL LOVE THIS SONG!!!! Yebba, you did a masterful job! When do you not? LOVE YOU YEBBA!!!
I sit and close my eyes while I listen to this song and her voice. Nothing else matters.
Absolutely stunning. What a beautiful choice of song for the current times. Yebba literally shares her heart in the form of music and that is such a comforting thing. I’m so lucky to be on this planet at the same time as Yebba.
We are lucky to have you here.
