Showing the deep connection between our present ecological crisis and our lack of awareness of the sacred nature of creation, this series of essays from spiritual and environmental leaders around the world shows how humanity can transform its relationship with the Earth. Combining the thoughts and beliefs from a diverse range of essayists, this collection highlights the current ecological crisis and articulates a much-needed spiritual response to it. Perspectives from Buddhism, Sufism, Christianity, and Native American beliefs as well as physics, deep psychology, and other environmental disciplines, make this a well-rounded contribution.

FANTASTIC video and book! We all need to stay focused and spread awareness every chance we get. Our awesome, wondrous Earth is troubled by man, and we have been advised, educated, warned, and given hard scientific facts and visual aides to show it. We see the delicate boundaries we face. We have far too much emphasis on money and greed to see the risk of losing the gorgeous treasures that we all share, free of charge. It is OUR RESPONSIBILITY FROM THE TIME WE OPEN OUR EYES EACH DAY UNTIL WE SLEEP to recycle, clean up whatever we can, show respect for our waters and drive others to, WATCH HOW WE VOTE to enable leadership that supports the climate changes, and to actively participate in public cries to uphold the welfare of our world. THANKS SO MUCH FOR SHARING!

I've just now heard The Cry - there are billions more around the Earth who haven't yet heard of it! It's made me cry a bit - just thinking of extinctions does - but feeling it is much more powerful. So - how to engage many many many more people in a spiritual quest to save our world?

This is all very inspiring as a philosophy. But we are way beyond philosophy helping the earth and its inhabitants. If we are to save the earth we need to ACT. And the most powerful action humans can take is to cease eating animals, to cease raising them in ways that both cause horrific suffering for the animals, damage to the earth, and damage to the human body and spirit. Philosophy is not enough. We need to make changes in our daily lifestyle choices, not just talk about this, but to ACT.
