From what I understand he made this song for his girlfriend Rika. Rika's name means "pear blossom".
You should try Porter's collaboration song with Madeon called Shelter(especially the short film ver) & Madeon's song Beings

i havent watched the video all the way so idk if you caught on to this yet but this song is actually for porter's girlfriend, rika! shes the girl in the photo you see in the video. the song is about how porter wishes her the best and to be the happiest she could ever be
would like to note too that rika's name is translated to pear ***blossom*** in japanese
